The correct solution to the expression 9 - 9 × 9 - 9 is -81, not 0, because multiplication must be performed before subtraction according to the PEMDAS rule (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction), which requires solving operations from left to right when they have equal priority.

This Simple Math Problem Confuses Almost EveryoneAdded:
So most people solve this question like 9 - 9. So 9 - 9 is equal to 0. Then again 9 - 9. So 9 - 9 is equal to also 0. Now 0 * 0. So 0 * 0 is equal to 0.
Right?
But this answer is not correct. This answer is completely wrong.
So now let's solve this problem correctly by using a pdas rule. Right?
So pas p d a s according to pdas rule first priority is parenthesis then second priority is exponents then third priority is multiplication and division here multiplication and division both have equal priority so we have to solve it from left to right and fourth and last priority is addition and subtraction Also addition and subtraction both have equal priority. So we have to solve it from left to right. So in this question here we have subtraction here multiplication and here subtraction right. So according to PDA rule first we have to solve multiplication then we have to solve subtraction right. So first we have to solve this multiplication.
So now 9 - now solve this multiplication 9 * 9 is equal to 81 - 9 right now we have subtraction in your subtraction so both have equal priority so we have to solve it from left to right so first we have to solve this subtraction so 9 - 81 is equal to -72 - 9 so now -72 - 9 is equal to - 81.
So the correct answer is - 81. Right?
