Local SEO optimization for home service businesses requires consistent messaging across website elements (H1 tags, meta titles, descriptions), proper Google Business Profile category selection (specific services like 'roofing contractor' rather than generic 'general contractor'), service area pages for each location served, quality backlinks, and a Google Maps embed on the website footer; businesses with low review counts and spammy backlinks can achieve top three Google Maps rankings within 90-120 days through systematic optimization of these key factors.

Here is Why Magee Contracting Gets Zero Calls From Google追加:
Hey everyone, it's Body with Striker Digital. Today I'm going to do a local SEO audit on Maji Contracting. This is a general contracting, roofing, window, pretty much an exterior business out of Bayville, New Jersey, kind of by the Jersey Shore. Getting right into it.
This is their website. So, good H1 tag.
Top rated local roofing, siding, and window experts in Bayville, New Jersey.
The first red flag I see from a local SEO perspective is the following right here. Top rated local roofing, siding, and window experts in Bayville. You'd say that on your H1 tag. H1 tags are super important. H1 tags are communicating to Google's algorithm what your business does and where it does it.
So, great job saying you do roofing, siding, windows in Bayville, but your metatags and metatitles, which also communicate communicate to Google, say something completely differently. For example, your metatitle is general contractor in Ocean County NJ contracting. That's good. But this right here should probably say something like local roofing contractor in Ocean County, New Jersey or local roofing contractor in Bayville, New Jersey. I'll get into that why later because you don't rank at all right now. Your metad description is too long right here.
Trusted local contractor with 25 plus years serving Ocean County homeowners.
expert roofing, siding, windows, decks, and bulkheads. Another thing, you're kind of confusing Google here. Right here, you're telling everyone you do roofing, siding, and windows. And then in your metad description, you start saying that you do decks and bulkheads.
Focus on one or two things. You're kind of all over the place right now by just looking at your website for 5 seconds.
But good layout overall.
Picture. I'd probably get higher quality photos, um, different services that you offer. All good stuff right here. This is all great. Some reviews, all good stuff. Website's pretty basic at this moment. There's some quick wins here, but this isn't bad. I've seen much worse. Let me go into your quick links.
Okay.
Roofing services built to protect, last, and impress. This just looks like AI generated. Maybe not actually. This just did right here. Issue I'm having with this page. It doesn't say where you offer roofing services, which is pretty important. But it does say that in your metatitle and your metad description.
Okay. I would probably change this H1 tag. Otherwise, this page is fine.
Siding.
Okay, looks pretty good.
Areas you serve. I see you don't have these filled out yet. I would definitely look to fill these out as soon as possible and have an areas we serve page up here somewhere, which you do not have. So, I would take this areas we serve. I'd have all of these areas filled out and then I would also add it up there. So, I'll show you an example of a roofer I work with and what their area pages look like. So, we have services, roof types, locations. When I click on locations, we have all the locations they serve. So, if I click Boca Raton, Florida, says they're a premier roofing company in Boca Raton, Florida. We actually have these content pages, these service area pages for every single place they target. even if it's far away from their Google business profile, if they want to run like PPC ads to Boca Raton, Florida, they can run it directly to this page, which is awesome. Then if I go into your Google business profile, it's set up pretty good. What's really important for anyone listening is like when it comes to local SEO or SEO itself, you need to be able to Google your company name and have it show up number one right here. That is super important. Something I run into when it comes to a lot of painting companies, they'll pick a name like blue dot painting and it actually competes with blue dot as a color and it kills your rankings. Makes it really hard to build domain authority. So, this is really good to see. You have a Yelp account, Facebook account, Zoom Info, Yellow Pages. You have some citations built out. You might have not have done them purposely, but you do have some citations built out, which is awesome.
And these are all the big ones. when it comes into your actual profile, probably would clean up this picture right here. Um, I'll show you what it should look like. So, if I look up something like Rockland County Generact Maintenance, as you see, this is what the picture looks like right there.
Nice, professionally done picture. You can see where the company is, what they do, what they offer. Um, which is really awesome for you. It's kind of cut off right here. It's a nice picture, but it does not fit in your futured image on your Google business profile. something I would change almost right away. Really simple fix. Not that big of a deal. When it comes to your products, good job having all of your products built out.
Let me click on them. Great. Visit site.
Let's check this out. Great. Goes to your window installation page. Awesome.
That's awesome to see. We really like connecting your Google business profile to your website. Good work. You have posted some pictures. Great job. These don't move the needle that much for SEO for anyone that's listening. But what's important with this is it increases your CTR. So when people are scrolling on Google, they see this right here. It's good for them to look at, learn more, click onto your website. It's just another way for people to click on your website, book an estimate with you.
Let's go in your LinkedIn. LinkedIn profile. Good job. Facebook profile.
Good job. Couple more profiles I would add if I was you is I would add a YouTube profile. Um, I would start posting YouTube videos, but first add a YouTube profile. It's a free citation.
Um, I would also add an Instagram profile and a Tik Tok pro Tik Tok profile and also an X/ Twitter profile.
Add all those things. Have as many profiles filled out as possible. Get your business listed as many places possible. Um, Facebook, nice. Three reviews. Awesome. Most people don't even think about Facebook reviews. That's great to see. If I view all your Google reviews, you answer all them correctly.
Perfect. Nice. Okay. All good stuff. Not a bad start. Um, we could definitely help you and your business out in this market for sure. You only have five reviews. Here's my plan for this business. If I was to take this over, if I was to try to get it ranked top three on Google Maps, here's exactly what I would do. So, the biggest headline findings, like I said earlier, the Google business profile is filed under the wrong category. So, your primary category is general contractor. What makes it really tough to rank for something like general contractor is no one is searching for that keyword.
People are either searching for roofing contractor, bathroom remodeler, siding contractor, exterior contractor, stuff like that. No one really searches general contractor. Most consumers think a general contractor is someone you hire and they add a big addition onto your house. But if someone wants to get their siding done, their roofing done, their windows done, they're not searching general contractor. This is something for you to think about, but for me, if I was to take over this campaign, I would target roofing. I would either target roofing, I would target windows, or I would target siding. I would make that your primary category. Whichever part of your business you want to grow the quickest. That's definitely the easiest thing to do for you. Um, and the biggest lowhanging fruit, we'll call it. Zero service area page exists. Like I said earlier, your site map shows zero service area pages. You have all your service pages, but not service area pages. So I would make service area pages for Belleview, Tom's River, Lacy or Barrier Island, the Jersey Shore itself, Seaside, wherever. Your backlink profile, it doesn't look like you have invested in SEO before, but you have a two out of a 100 domain authority. Um, and it's just an overwhelming majority of PBN age domain junk links, probably purchased from Fiverr or probably someone on Fiverr just messing with your domain. Um, and then the map profile isn't wired to the website. So, you have no Google map embedded on the footer of your website. And what that means is this right here. So, if I show you J Blandon Plumbing's website, they have multiple Google business profiles. So, on the bottom of their website, we have every single profile that they have embedded right on the footer of the website. Um, I will show you another company right now. Same thing. If I go to the footer of the website, we have the actual Google business profile right in the footer of the website. So, what we like to tell people is we like to connect your Google business profile to your website and vice versa. It's a good signal for Google to get you ranking.
And then estimated roofing leads on the table. So, yeah, you're probably leaving about 18 plus roofing leads a month.
Assuming there's 600 relevant monthly searches across your service area and a conservative 3% click-through rate, you can easily get 18 plus leads per month in this small little area. area I'm about to show you guys um by just being ranked top three on Google Maps. And here's just a quick your current rankings. So, this is how I know you have an easy market. You only have five Google reviews and your average rank is an 11.09. As you see, this is your rankings. What I'm showing you guys right now is like when you rank on Google Maps, if this map is fully green, that means you rank top three on Google Maps. Average ranking of about 11.089.
And what's interesting is you're about eight all around, give or take. So, for us to get you top three, we only need to move you about five to six spots, which would be about a 90-day process if you do everything we say and we do everything we need to do for you. But otherwise, quick. So, that's roofing company Bayville. Here's roofing company near me. And here's roof repair near me.
So, as you guys see, same thing. These searches are much worse. It's probably because they only have five reviews.
Major Contracting only has five reviews.
At this very moment, I am targeting roofing because roofing has the most search volume in the Bayville market.
And I think it makes the most sense to start as your front-end offer and then upsell siding, upsell windows on the back end once you get the roof done. And there's a lot of insurance roofs that happen in New Jersey. So, more than likely, people are going to be calling for a roof anyway. And quick stuff, your website and organic rankings. Just stuff I pulled from Semrush. So, Samrush data you see right there. Two domain authority. you only have about 11 total keywords on the website. The reason being is probably your website's not fully indexed. That's why they're picking that up. And then here's money keywords. Roofers in Ocean County, New Jersey is the only one I agree with here. Um otherwise, it's how people are finding your business. How much does a new roof cost? Emin Roofing, Maji Construction Company, Maji Roofing. Um zero traffic for any of this. And then 173 back links. Almost none of them are real. Here's some of your back links.
PBN spam. PBN spam. Link farm directory spam. Autogen. You have two legit ones.
I guess you worked with local roofing.net. Not sure. Then here's where you stand in the market. So here's Miji Contracting. Here's Proven Contracting, Nordstar Roofing, Martinez Family Roofing. These are your three biggest competitors in the roofing space in your market. Um, obviously you have a fivestar review rating because you've only gotten five reviews. You'd have the wrong primary category. You have no service area pages. You have no Google Maps embed. No top three Google presence. These guys have all of that.
They do obviously have some bad reviews.
Everyone does. If you do volume in business, you're not going to make everyone happy. But typical, typical, typical. But all their primary categories, service area pages and stuff like that. Something that's interesting here for you guys to see. Proven Contracting is number one. Northstar is number two. Martinez is number three.
Martinez only has some service area pages and that's why they're ranking number three. So, quick wins in this market. Definitely small market. Here's a 90-day plan. First things first, switch primary category to roofing contractor. Embed the Google business map on the footer of the page. Add full secondary categories. And when I say secondary categories, um, I would be adding siding contractor and window contractor as secondary categories.
Begin disavowing those PBM spam links, which is definitely affecting your current domain authority ranking. Um, and then set up a review automation system. Set up something like reviewrover.co for your business would be very helpful. Um, blast all your friends and family asking for reviews locally. Then that's from day 0 to 30.
Day 30 to 60, we'll be building service area pages for core towns. Bayville, Tom's River, Lacy, Berkeley, Beachwood, Barrier Island, all your core towns. Ton of business in your area, especially out east of you. Um, on the Jersey Shore side of things. I grew up going down there every every summer. Ton of money down there. ton of construction, people need roofs done. Um, we would then be building roof repair and roof replacement pages, add local schema markup and then establish citations.
Right now, you have a good start with citations just from being in business for I think you said 30 years earlier would just be adding more of those citations. And then just to scale, start posting on your Google business profile more photo cadence. Launch a weekly Google business posting. It's not going to move the needle that much. It's just going to increase CTR and get you more leads. um start scouting a second Google business profile location because probably by day 90 to day 120, we will have you be ranking top three. It would make sense to get you a second Google business profile um away from your Bayville area, maybe in Tom's River to increase rankings. Exchange local backlinks with complimentary businesses.
So, if you're friends with anyone, I'm sure you are since being in this business for 20 plus years, you definitely have other friends in your market you can speak to. I would talk to them about getting local backlinks, something we can handle for you. Um, local editorial links, something we handle, and then we would rescan the geog grid and report movement. If we can capitalize on all the things I said above, there's no reason why we cannot get your business top three in that amount of time. Um, your reputation is down. Now, let's say Google show it.
Like I said, you have five good reviews.
You've been in business for 20 years.
There's no reason why we can't get you ranked top three within 90 to 120 days.
We only work with one client per market.
You'd be the only roofer we work with in Ocean County. Um, and yeah, that's my audit for Maji Contracting. Thank you everyone for listening. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, comment below. Let me know if you'd like me to audit your business
