This video presents a comprehensive framework for junior executives to achieve professional success through four key pillars: (1) Execution over intentions - success is measured by actual actions, not plans; (2) Growth through exposure, guidance, speed, and structured learning; (3) Managing pressure by understanding its source, creating plans, and maintaining calm; (4) Strategic relationships with mentors who support rather than threaten your success. The framework emphasizes that the faster one learns, the more they advance from AI consumers to AI creators, and that intentional learning from experienced professionals is essential for career advancement.

Highlights from the Half Day Retreat for Junior Executives - April 2026Added:
This is a learning event for for all of us. Um I'm I'm here to learn and today we're going to talk about making the most of AI uh productivity and time management mentoring handling pressure and journey to the top.
The faster we learn, the more we're at the forefront of AI. And so we move from just big consumers of AI to creators of AI, right? So we don't want to consume, right? But now we move from just consuming to creative. You're not evaluated or assessed by what you intend to do. You are assessed by what you actually do.
So execution means that your intentions, your desires, your ideas get done. Growth comes from exposure, from guidance, from speed, from structure. And we've heard two speakers this morning, they didn't read it and then come up here. They've actually lived it and they've experienced it. So your growth comes from your exposure.
And the question is, how do you want to be exposed?
Managing pressure requires a clear understanding of the source of the pressure. You must have a plan, how to deal with it, a strategy, an expectation.
You must be calm.
You must be patient because there's fire under the belly all the time.
Make sure that you marry your friend male or female that is not threatened by your success by your and is not intimidated so that whoever is bringing what to the table is immaterial in this journey. You will start with many people. Some will be better than you, more hardworking. But being intentional is key. learning from the people ahead of you and then just trying to be yourself and enjoy yourself through the journey. I think that's I'm here at the retreat for junior executive and I I must say the program is um has been very insightful. I think most of it is mostly around letting time go and using your caret and opportunity to learn and so much to go back and unpack and start to implement. Say the program was very enlightening when I heard about it first. cuz I thought it was going to be like a cliche kind of retreat, but I'd say it was a very special and enlightening one and it really opened my eyes to things that I was not looking at before and I really learned a lot.
>> The program was very impactful the different sessions. I learned I learned I learned a lot. The >> program was insightful. It was daring at the same time because we got to learn from different legends. um chief shewami and different people in the house learning about mentorship the role the impacts that they can have on your life.
>> You're right. The program was really instructive. Uh this we had seasoned uh professionals in their own different walks of life come join us and then it was really instructive. I had to learn about AI and then how to use AI, leverage AI and not just become dominant using AI like a dummy on my job.
Productivity was really key for me.
Managing task, different tasks and then staying productive across. I also learned that business is not good for business. That's the tagline I'm going with.
The half-day retreat for junior executives which held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 at VCP Hotel in Victoria Island. Lagos was brought to you by Unboxed Learning Events Limited and Josh Leadership Academy.
