Corporate policies cannot override legal consumer rights; when purchasing faulty goods, consumers are entitled to refunds, repairs, or replacements regardless of store policies, and should escalate to head office, use chargeback options, or pursue small claims court if needed.

She Wouldn't Take "No" for an Answer… Then They Called Security
Added:I figured out if you order a $1,000 MacBook from Walmart online, you open the package and there's no MacBook inside. [screaming] >> You dumped a drink all in my lap in my car and you just won't give me a simple $10 refund.
>> I'm calling the cops. I get that big sweater from >> fake.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh no, baby. This little lemon.
>> This entire video is one repeating pattern. People thinking policy beats reality until the consequences show up.
Every clip starts calm, confident, and sure they're right. That was supposed to be delivered April 22nd. Not only was it delivered, so you run back up to FedEx because they're still loading packages in the locker room. You run back up to them and show them, hey, this is not in here. They tell you to contact the shipper, which is Walmart. You speak to Walmart. A customer service representative tells you that she knows for a fact the MacBook was inside the box.
>> This is nightmare fuel because now it's not policy, it's liability roulette.
>> Like she has a camera in my house or like she was there opening it with me.
Um, not only that, you spoke to the supervisor because you escalated it. You spoke to the supervisor and the supervisor tells you to call back within 3 days that Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
because it was delivered on a Monday.
call back that Thursday at 5:00 PM and she has approved your refund. You call back, you get another supervisor. They won't transfer you to the supervisor, the person that told you this and they tell you, "We cannot help you file a dispute through your bank." So, you keep calling, keep calling till Walmart finally sends you this this email stating that they will no longer help you. They've exhausted all issues. Not only did they say that when you were on the phone the last time, customer service rep that said said that if I called back, they will no longer be assisting me. So, what do you do? you decide to file a CA claim through FedEx.
FedEx has evidence that my package was tampered with. They have evidence that someone put a a horizontal line where my name my my actual signature should have been making them liable. They have all this evidence, but they still denied the claim because Walmart didn't do the claim.
>> This is how systems protect themselves, not customers. So, you call Walmart back even after after they said and they said they will not assist you with filing a claim. Okay? And you find out that FedEx and Walmart has some type of shipping agreement that protects each other.
Okay? Let's continue. So, you call your bank. Mind you, you ordered this through a firm. You call your bank and your bank tells you that the only thing they can do is turn off your card, give you a new card. However, if you do that, a firm goes by credit. They're taking monthly payments out. So, if you don't allow a firm to take these payments, a firm is going to put this on your credit.
>> This is the part no one prepares you for. Doing the right thing can still punish you.
>> So, you tell your bank, "Don't worry about it. You're going to continue to fight this." You call a firm, you've been dealing with a firm, and here it is, July 22nd, silver lining. It's literally been exactly what, 4 months. A firm tells you that there's nothing that they can do about it. and specifically cited FedEx and Walmart's agreement. And there's nothing that you can do. Now, I don't know about y'all, but I'm not rich. I'm not paying $1,000. I don't care if it's in increments or all at once. I'm not paying $1,000 [music] for a MacBook that I did not receive.
>> At this point, it's no longer about the laptop. It's about survival. Oh, and I failed to mention whoever stole the MacBook, whether it was Walmart workers or FedEx workers, y'all, they had the audacity to leave the charger and the [music] cord.
>> That detail right there, that's what makes people believe the story.
>> Refunding cash.
>> I mean, just now I just left.
>> He's giving us an option of a gift card or a debit card. back on the deck for the only time.
>> I don't have three to 10 days to wait on my refund. The law says you have to give your customers the option.
>> Can you show me that law?
>> I would really appreciate just get I don't have to show you the law. I know my rights. So, I just want my refund in cash. That's that simple. I've done it before. I can do it again.
>> This is where people confuse I've done it before with I'm [music] entitled to it. policies doesn't change just because you're allowed recording and confident.
>> We can do only do that if it's under $10.
>> When it's over $10, we can >> based on your policy.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Not the law.
>> Based on our policy. So, that's what we have to do is what our policy is.
>> But I'm going by law.
>> You can go to a different Walmart and maybe they'll do it.
>> I didn't buy it from I didn't buy it from a different Walmart. I bought it from this Walmart. I paid debt. I used my debit card, which is the same as cash. So, I'm going to return I'm going to refuse it right now.
>> And what's your name?
>> My name is Genie. I'm the front end manager.
>> And what's your name?
>> I'm Michelle. It's right here.
>> All right.
>> Thank you, Jenny. I'm Michelle.
>> You're welcome, sir. You're recording, but that's okay.
>> And this is the Walmart in York County, South Carolina, everybody.
>> Yes, sir. Thank you.
>> You can leave now.
>> Yeah, you can leave, right? We'll call the PD.
>> Notice how fast it jumps from refund conversation to authority threats.
That's the moment logic leaves and ego takes over. Please show me where it says that >> cuz I would like to get my money back.
>> Show me to give you your money back.
>> Show me in the receipt where it says original payment message.
>> Yes, I'm going to scan my card as soon as I see the card.
>> It's right here. It's Apple Pay. So, show me where it says that in the receipt. Please show me.
>> As soon as I see the card number, >> sir. Please show me where it says that.
>> It says the original payment method.
>> Yes. I'm going to scan my card because I use Apple Pay, but I don't have to show you. In order for us to do the original payment method, it has to be the same card number.
>> It is the same card number. That's why I'm >> That's why I want to verify it because we need to >> That's why I'm going to scan it so that I find it.
>> So when you're ready, I'll be help.
>> Can I help the next person?
>> I want to I want to get my money back.
>> So I get someone else >> because it doesn't say I have to show you my card. I'm going to scan my card.
>> Do you guys have the email for the rewards?
>> I want your name. [music] >> James.
>> Okay. Okay.
>> Here you go. So please show me where it says the policy. I have to show you my card. My when I scan my card it will show app prove it.
>> Yes. I already said I just came to verify the last one.
>> When I scan my card it will verify it. I it doesn't say I have to show you my card. I have to >> come up to $24.99 cash. Go for it.
>> [music] [music] >> There you go. Have a good one.
>> Just get someone else.
>> I'm I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving. I want my money back.
>> I would love to give you the money back.
to show you. That's what I'm going to scan my card.
>> I'm going to call security.
>> Call security then. Okay.
>> Yeah. I'm like, it's I use Apple Pay.
So, why do I have to >> Why do I have to show you my card?
That's ridiculous. It shows the proof that I have my receipt.
[music] That's the ridiculous [ __ ] I ever heard.
Why do I have >> Hi, [clears throat] we would like a reason, please.
You dumped tea.
>> What's your name? What's your name?
>> If you don't give me your name, I'm going to call up your owners and tell them what the happened [clears throat] here.
>> You dumped a drink all in my lap in my car and you just won't give me a simple $10 refund.
>> I'm calling the cops.
>> You better all have your right. You better all be legal. I'm telling you right now, I ain't with this. This is B.
>> All because this lady dumped sweet tea all over me. Drinks still leaking all over the ground as I headed back to them.
All in my car.
>> I don't really have an emergency, but I don't know what I'm >> going to press charges for assault. This went from spilled drink to felony language in under [music] 30 seconds.
>> I'm pressing charges for assault.
>> You come out, give me my refund. I will not, but I will press charges for assault.
Unbelievable.
This is what she went and did is hide while the rest of her workers are out here doing their job. Anytime someone says, "I don't really have an emergency," but they know they're stretching reality.
>> You're refusing to give me my money back and you got your product and your receipt.
>> You have to call the manager and then refund you, but I can't do anything as an employee.
>> Call the manager, please, because I've done everything I can.
>> You're the one that messed up the food.
You messed up my food.
>> You called the >> I do not have a refund.
>> I already helped you as much as I can.
We didn't have the things that you needed and I helped you as I could and that's all I could do.
>> And you put things on it that my kids are allergic to that weren't even on the receipt.
>> Can you just explain why did you put things on the sandwich that wasn't on the receipt?
>> And the fact you're recording me, [music] I'm going to have to call the manager. People are already wanting to call the cops.
>> Watch how accountability disappears the second emotions show up. Nobody's solving a problem anymore. They're just trying to win.
>> Call the cops cuz I put things on my sandwich that weren't on the receipt. My receipt shows the correct order that was placed online and you still put the wrong things on it. I need answers and I want the money.
If we need to call the cops, we can call the cops.
>> This is the modern move. Record, escalate, call cops, and demand money.
So, somebody came and picked up my pizza and used my name and I can't get a refund.
>> It says that it was picked up around 5:30.
>> That's the order. No, I set the time for pickup. 8 5:30. That's the time I scheduled it to pick up.
>> Nobody has came in and picked it up. I confirmed my pickup online that I wanted to pick it up at 5:30.
>> I'm telling you that someone came in with that exact same name and picked it up already. What did she look like? Huh?
>> It was a guy.
>> It was a guy.
>> Yes.
>> This one hurts because it's actually possible. But notice no proof, just frustration and explanations.
>> And they just used my name and came by and picked it up, >> I guess. So, >> I don't even I'm not even from here. I don't even know anyone here. So, what am what am I going to do? Am I going to get my $20 back? Um, I can go back here and talk to my higher up.
>> Please do that. Or no, please send them out. Actually, >> they're not here. That's why I have to >> Oh, well then please go call them. Yes, please call them. Thank you. Cuz that was $20. You know, >> and I'm telling you that someone came in.
>> Nobody came and and picked up my pizza.
I confirmed my pickup time for 5:30 on my phone.
>> Small money turns into big emotions real fast. It's never about the amount.
[music] It's about control.
>> So, we don't do returns. I can give you.
>> I know. I know. I want store credit. Go ahead.
>> For sure. It'd be like 120.
>> I was 190 when I bought it. It's like last week.
>> No, I know. I know. I understand. So, >> I have the receipt and >> I understand. We do not do returns at our store and we make it very clear before you purchase the shoe. Like there's a big sign right at the register that says we don't do returns and on the receipt it says all sales are final. I know a lot of you guys aren't going to agree with that, but that's just how sneaker stores like us work. So, if you came to return a shoe, we would literally just have to buy the shoe as if you're selling it for the first time.
So that's what was going on in this clip right here. The guy didn't really seem to understand our policy.
>> This is where clear signs meet [music] selective hearing. The policy didn't change. The expectations just never match reality.
>> So typically if I were to buy it, it'd be just 100 cash or 120 credit. So >> yeah, I don't want cash. I want >> I'll do 120. I understand. I'll do 120.
People hear what they want to hear, then argue when reality doesn't bend.
>> Only like for credit.
>> I do want 30 credit. I be the most.
Other than that, yeah. Sorry, bro.
>> No, man. I just wanted this one.
>> Sorry. I appreciate you.
>> I was looking for uh SB Dunks. Would I be able to >> What size? What size?
>> Cuz you're in that room.
>> I be able to trade.
>> Yes. You just want 130 off of anything you find?
>> No. No. Off like >> $130. $130 off of what you find. That's like I don't know what's so hard about that. You know, you're making it you're making it a little hard.
>> The moment policy becomes hard, it's usually because someone didn't read it.
>> Our systems won't let us return TVs once they're damaged. You have to contest the manufacturer.
>> They were It was damaged when I bought it.
>> Okay. And I understand. And with it being um damaged inside the box, manufacturer has to deal with it. Um they have to file a claim through the >> manufacturer. Other places don't don't have that policy.
>> I don't know. I don't work at other places. I'm just going to confess with my credit card. They didn't want to reject it. I mean, >> this is where policy fatigue sets in.
The longer the explanation, the more people feel robbed, even when nobody stole anything.
>> It makes no sense to me.
>> Okay.
>> Well, right. I mean, does that make sense to you?
>> It's our policy. It's our policy. Well, if that's your policy, then you should tell everyone who buys a TV that policy because if if I knew that was your policy, I would have open I would have either opened it while I was here or I just wouldn't have bought it.
>> Okay.
>> That's a ridiculous policy on a Christmas.
>> Holidays don't override contracts and fillings don't void receipts.
>> Yeah. I It's It's not something that I can control. It's not even our store won't control won't take back TVs that are broken. Yeah. So, you're not going to return this TV that was broken in the box.
>> Correct.
>> Listen carefully. No yelling, no insults, just people stuck between corporate rules and human frustration.
>> A person buys a TV from Best Buy >> and they get home on Christmas Eve. They open a box and the TV is damaged.
>> They come back the day after Christmas and you won't return the TV.
>> Yeah, we can't. You have to file a claim through the manufacturer. They can issue an RA number um for return authorization.
>> Why can't you all do that?
>> Because we're not the consumer.
>> How come other places don't have that policy?
>> I don't work at other horrible service.
>> That's horrible service.
>> If I buy I buy stuff sometimes from New York City, if it's damaged in any way, including TVs, they just they say send it back.
>> Okay. Yeah. I don't have a way to do that here. It's >> so there's no one you can talk to above yourself that that can that can sit above myself says the same exact thing.
We do not return TVs. Every every customer that we've ever had the problem with like this. We don't return them.
It's not something me or her. It's our management here. We do not return broken TVs.
>> Okay. I'll just deal with the credit card. Got it.
This is where it stops being inconvenience and starts becoming financially dangerous.
>> American Airlines are under fire [music] for refusing to refund a doctor who gave up her business class seats for a sick passenger. Dr. Aaron Nance was traveling on an overnight flight when just an hour into their journey, the crew announced a medical emergency on board. Dr. Aaron found the elderly woman on the bathroom floor and offered the couple's premium [music] seats as flight attendants told her it was completely full. The airline initially dismissed her refund request, citing booking complications because the tickets were purchased through British Airways. While the flight crew expressed their gratitude with free food and champagne, too. The couple was relegated to what she calls uncomfortable seats for the remainder of the flight, which they described as possibly the [music] worst seats on the airplane.
>> Even doing the right thing doesn't guarantee fairness. Corporate gratitude rarely equals composition.
>> If a shop refuses a refund, you're legally entitled to, here's the law. So, you buy something, it breaks, it arrives faulty, it stops working in two days, and the shop hits you with no refunds, store credit only, you need to speak to the manufacturer. Most people walk away because they assume shop rules override the law. They don't. This is day 14 of if this happens, here's the law. Your rights come from the Consumer Rights Act 2015, not from whatever refund policy the shop sticks on the counter. If an item is faulty, you're entitled to a refund, a repair, or replacement. This applies even if the box is open, the shop policy says no refunds, or you only used it once. You don't need to deal with the manufacturer. Your contract is with the retailer, and they cannot pass that off. So, what do you do? Well, you say this clearly. My rights fall under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Explain the fault and be factual and calm.
Request the remedy you want. Either it's a refund, a repair, or a replacement. If they argue it's the policy, explain that store policies cannot override statute to consumer rights. If they still refuse, escalate to the head office, use section 75 chargeback if paid by card or raise a formal complaint or take it to small claims court. Save this because too many shops rely on the consumers not knowing the law. Follow your rights matter for everyday breakdowns of the law. I'll catch you on the next one.
Bye. This clip exists because most people don't know the law. The corporations quietly rely on that.
>> What you mean? I just paid a application fee of $75, $50, whatever it is. And you telling me y'all going to deny me and I can't get it back? Like, I really want to know who came up with that idea.
Before you even actually get an apartment, you done spent over a,000 plus dollars simply just on application fees. Why is that even a thing? Why should I have to pay to sign a piece of paper to even see if I'm qualified? And if I'm not qualified for that apartment, which I shouldn't be a qualified for apartment. All I need to be qualified for apartment is to have the money and be able to pay the [ __ ] bills. All this extra stuff that y'all be needing to know and be wanting for apartments is just [ __ ] ridiculous. I've never understood that. Why am I paying to be denied? We not complaining enough about the right stuff. Y'all want rent to go down. We need to exempt from paying application fees cuz that's stupid.
That's dumb.
>> Paying to be denied is one of the biggest scams nobody protests loudly enough and everyone just accepts it.
Where' you get that fake sweater from?
>> Fake?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh no, baby. This Lululemon.
>> Lululemon? What the hell is that?
>> It was $100.
>> Yeah. You got that off the thrift store?
>> Oh no. The website lullemon.com. Yeah.
>> Mhm.
>> I ain't going to lie. By the way you talking, I feel like you like me. If you like me, just say that. At the end of the day, I said what I said. I'm going give it a buck.
>> I don't know about that. The way you talking, it seem like you might like me.
>> The way you talking, it seem like you like me.
>> I don't know. I got a man.
>> You got a man? Damn. Just like that.
Who's your man? I bet I know him.
>> My man is Big Meech.
>> Big Meech. Who the hell is that?
>> Do your homework on him. Let's start that.
>> I bet you I'm a better man than him.
>> You want to prove it?
>> You want me to prove that?
>> Mhm.
>> So, basically, I have to treat you good and then you're going to pick between me and him.
>> Let's do it. Give me your number.
>> I ain't going for that. Hell no. I'm not about to be an option.
>> What?
>> I'm not about to be an option. Hell no.
At the end of the day, it's like I said what I said. That's that.
>> Okay. My man. My man.
>> Damn. No. For real. For real. How long y'all been together?
>> We've been together for 2 years.
>> Swear to God.
>> Mhm.
>> Swear to God.
>> Yep. On the lie.
>> Mhm.
>> This is pure chaos energy. No refunds, no logic, no accountability, just vibes and confidence. Something about stores only doing exchanges instead of returns.
I'm starting to see that as a trend with a lot more stores now. It just don't sit right with me. They say, "Y'all not getting your money back. You're not. You can come and exchange it for something, but we ain't we ain't coming up off your that dollar." I don't like it. I don't.
>> This is the common thread tying everyone together. Money goes one direction, explanations go the other.
>> At this point, it's not about proof.
It's about refusing to back down. If you made it this far, you already know the pattern. Confidence without understanding turns into confrontation every time. Drop a comment. Which one of these was the most ridiculous? And which one made you nervous? Hit the like if you ever been stuck between policy and common sense. Subscribe if you want more breakdowns like this. No filters and no sugar coating. Go down into the description and binge watch the playlist. And make sure you watch the next video because this kind of chaos doesn't slow down anytime soon. See you on the next one.
