Porn addiction can manifest through subtle symptoms that individuals often overlook, including delayed ejaculation (which may precede erectile dysfunction), irritability from dopamine withdrawal, decreased motivation and drive, and social anxiety; these symptoms can develop gradually and significantly impact daily functioning before the individual recognizes they have an addiction.

5 Porn Addiction Symptoms You Don’t Notice, UNTIL It’s Too LateHinzugefügt:
Have you ever wondered if you might have a porn addiction without even knowing?
Well, I can tell you I personally did not know until it was too late. So, in this video I'm going to share porn addiction symptoms I myself experienced and that many other guys also experienced long before they even realized they were addicted.
Scandinavian Bob here. Hi. Yeah, I'm a real voice and person behind this video.
So, if you're getting tired of all these fake AI videos out there, consider subscribing. All right. So, symptom number one, delayed ejaculation. Now, there are several things that can cause DE, but porn addiction is indeed a common one and this often comes along with lower libido. It is like Dr. Carlo Foresta, head of the Italian Society of Andrology and Sexual Medicine says, "Quote, it starts with lower reactions to porn sites. Then, there's a general drop in libido and in the end it becomes impossible to get an erection. Unquote."
And of course, it is this right here that's behind DE. In other words, classic signs of desensitization.
And I personally experienced that before I even knew I had a porn addiction. I remember a couple of times where I I wasn't even able to finish just because I felt so numb down there and because of the lack of arousal. Porn addiction symptom number two, irritability. Yes, did you know that if you have developed a porn addiction, you can get withdrawal symptoms between your sessions and there can be many withdrawal symptoms. Let me tell you.
But, the absolute most common one is irritability. Dr. Sophie Dix puts it like this, "Quote, watching porn activates the reward system in the brain. If you suddenly stop watching porn, your brain may miss the dopamine spikes that come with rewards. This may lead to mood swings, leading to increased irritability and anxiety."
Unquote. And yes, indeed. Here's just one quote from a 49-year-old guy who gave up porn. Quote, "The first few weeks were quite difficult. I'm not going to lie. I had a two-weekly video flatline and some pretty bad feelings of depression, hopelessness, and irritability, which continued for weeks.
It was very rough up until day 37 when I woke up feeling different and like something in my mind had shifted. Just like that. I woke up and while I was cooking breakfast, I was singing and dancing and laughing. I can't remember the last time I felt so good. It stayed easier since that day. Remember, as you are tempted to relapse, that you could wake up tomorrow and feel great. So, just hang on." Unquote. Symptom number three, ED.
Yes, we already touched on this, but did you know that delayed ejaculation is often the precursor to this even worse problem. Yeah, when it comes to porn addiction, DE is often the last step before you develop ED. If you have trouble maintaining or achieving a boner, then A, go see a professional to rule out any potential organic, hormonal, or other issues. B, give up watching porn. And by the way, if you're new to this, giving up porn is called PMO rebooting in the porn addiction community. Now, of course, here too, there are several things in life that can cause ED, which is why A is there.
But listen to this, a recent study by Med Express shows that almost two-thirds of UK men believe that porn has caused them issues with erectile dysfunction with almost one in six citing it as the main cause. In other words, 14% were absolutely certain, while 64% believed it could indeed be involved. Now, how long it will take to get your boner back is going to depend on different factors.
And I'll talk more about that in the end of this video. Number four, decreased motivation and drive. Yes, this is also a big one. More than half of people who have a real porn addiction are struggling with less motivation and drive. They also have lower energy levels and naturally, as a consequence, they procrastinate more. Of course, they do. And this was very much the case for me back when I was addicted. It took so much effort just to get through the day and my normal chores. And often times, I failed to do so. Let's put it like this, if you're looking for something to absolutely drain your ambition, potential, and drive, then look no further than becoming addicted to porn because yeah, that'll do it. Number five, social anxiety. Yeah, again, this is very very normal among guys who are addicted to porn. Now, of course, there are a lot of people who have social anxiety regardless of whether they've been watching a lot of adult content or not, but the fact is porn addiction can indeed cause social anxiety. And people fail to make that connection. They think it's just who they are. Here's just one quote from a guy sharing his experience about exactly this. Quote, "I took the decision to put an end to my PMO addiction for a number of reasons, but curing my social anxiety wasn't one of them. To be honest, I didn't even know there was a connection between porn addiction and my social anxiety. I just considered myself an introverted person and I was fine with that. This week I went snowboarding. While in an aerial tramway, I noticed a pretty girl. While snowboarding down the slope, I saw her stop and I just stopped near her and said hi. Asked her name and had a nice 5-minute conversation. I never ever did something like this before. Talking to a random girl has been impossible for me until now. The funny thing was that I wasn't feeling anxious at all. Unquote.
Now, that's pretty cool, at least as far as I'm concerned. And now that you know about these hidden symptoms, you need to know what factors play a part in how long recovery will take. So, watch this video next to discover exactly what they are.
