90 Day Peptide Stability Test Results: Mazdutide, Tirzepatide, and MOTS-C

[00:00:03]Hey everyone, it's Jeff and Randy the research rat with peptidecritic.com and today we're going to go over the long-awaited degradation tests. So, what we did is we wanted to test stability um on a reconstituted peptide.

[00:00:21]We wanted to know how long it was good for because that's a question we're constantly asked. We wanted to know if I leave it on the counter for a day, a week, it's still good. Uh you know, sometimes people, you know, leave it on the counter overnight. And to do that, we had to we had to spend some money and we had to we had to buy some kits. So, we sent three kits. A kit is 10 10 vials >> [music] >> uh to Analytical Formulations Inc. out in Texas and John over there uh this was well over 3 months ago.

[00:00:54]Uh John over there uh agreed to do this testing um and we uh we had some parameters [music] we set.

[00:01:02]We wanted um we wanted to do ambient and refrigerated uh and the ambient would have no the ambient and refrigerated would have no access to light so we didn't have to worry about light degradation. Um and they were reconstituted with Hospira back [music] and then all the samples had already passed uh sterility, endotoxin, and mass purity. It was all great stuff. Uh they were the there were three compounds we tested. One was tirzepatide, one was mazdutide, [music] and one was uh uh motc.

[00:01:34]Cuz we really wanted to answer the question on motc. So, to start, let's look at mazdutide. Now, mazdutide [music] is a dual agonist. It is GLP and glucagon. [music] So, kind of like reta without the GIP.

[00:01:49]Um and it's pretty popular.

[00:01:53]Uh happened to have a kit of it lying around so we just threw it in cuz I decided it couldn't hurt. [music] And you know, the big takeaway is I had a pretty steep drop-off uh at 1 week.

[00:02:02][music] Uh so, I wouldn't leave that on the counter for a week, but uh you know, it it held it till about day 61. Uh you know, 88.5 [music] uh you know, 12 12 and 1/2 per Sorry, 11 and 1/2% degradation isn't great, but that's not terrible.

[00:02:18]>> [music] >> Uh you know, and these are these are typically small bottles like a what you'll see with maz is I think the dosing [music] protocol goes up to like 12 mg and they are usually 5 mg bottles or 10 mg bottles. So, uh this one this one held pretty good. And uh I think the big thing is that uh you can leave it out overnight and I wouldn't worry about it.

[00:02:39]Uh the next one up is motc. Now, motc is one where you've guys going on social media making videos about [music] how it's toast after 8 hours.

[00:02:52]And it's not.

[00:02:54]Uh And they're talking about refrigerated.

[00:02:57]So, mots again had had a pretty steep degradation on day seven uh on [music] the counter, but it held its own um you know, to day 15 and [music] even to day 31 in the refrigerator.

[00:03:11]And uh you know, it started to drop off around day 31, [music] but again, you can leave it out overnight. I wouldn't I would I would take a freezer pack when you travel with it, but uh you know, going between labs, but this is this again, I think [music] this puts the nail in the coffin on, you know, after 8 hours it starts to significantly degrade.

[00:03:31]Um And then the next up is tirzepatide.

[00:03:35]Now, this was the one I was most interested in.

[00:03:38]And the results were awesome. So, tirzepatide on the counter, and this is the orange line, [music] tirzepatide held up just fine on the counter for a week. you should refrigerate it. Let's Let's be clear here. You should refrigerate it, but if you forget about it, it's not the end of the world, [music] it seems, assuming it's sterile, assuming you know, it's it's already uh you know, it's it's fairly new. Like if you left it on the counter for a week, [music] you know, and it's already 31 days old, it's probably going to be more of an issue, but um even at day [music] 15, it is significantly better than mazdutide or motc. Now, what I found interesting [music] is, you know, the the question There's a question always like 60 days, can I just 2 months is it good for 2 months? And it's kind of been the general consensus and it seems like that's the number we came away with at 2 months. It's still it's still you know, 90 it's only had a you know, 7 7.7% uh degradation, but uh yeah, it's it's not bad. And And the big thing for me was, you know, at 7 days it holds.

[00:04:50][music] So, you know, we do these tests from time to time.

[00:04:54]Uh I think these I mean, this this this tirz [music] one was big for me and the motc one was big for me. We just threw in a maz one cuz I had some extra, but I think this puts the nail in the coffin on your motc degrading after 8 hours in the fridge. The tirz one, you know, travel travel with it with a travel pack, but I wouldn't worry about it so much. Um We're going to be running some more tests coming up. I did some blind orders from some vendors and we're double-checking uh their numbers and I [music] will also be sending a uh batch of reta to four different testing facilities to see how their numbers differ.
