[00:00:00]Is faith in God reasonable? The second argument is the teleological argument.

[00:00:05]Teleological essentially means the question of purpose. Does the universe have a purpose? Is there a reason this all exists? A good way to frame it is that the universe is either a product of accidental chaos or purposeful order.

[00:00:20]Well, which one is it? If the universe is the product of random chance and chaos until eventually all this chaos over millions and billions of years led to life on Earth, is that logical?

[00:00:31]Perhaps, but we have to ask a few questions here. Is the world chaotic or orderly? I mean, it's predictable enough for us to use the stars to determine direction and the sun to calculate time.

[00:00:41]The sun is 93 million miles away from the Earth, but if the sun were a little closer, everything would not be able to exist here cuz it would burn up. If it were further, life couldn't exist cuz it would all freeze. So, the world is very orderly in many ways. Can chaos produce order? I've never seen it. Throw a bomb into a junkyard. Will it ever assemble a working machine? You see, chaos produces chaos, not order. Purpose and intelligence does. For thousands of years, the Bible has taught things like "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork." So, we can rationally conclude that there must be some intelligence behind the order we see in creation. This being, I believe, is God.
