Why Everyone is Getting 40 Years in Prison

[00:00:02]>> In a federal indictment, the Department of Justice says the Moores targeted the African-American community during the COVID-19 pandemic with false and misleading statements and promises regarding high returns to unlawfully enrich themselves, then tried to conceal their scheme.

[00:00:26]>> After a four-day trial in Sherman, a federal jury found the Moores guilty Friday of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering.

[00:00:35]The couple, who once appeared on a reality show Family or Fiance, now faces decades in prison when they're sentenced later this year.

[00:00:44]>> That is >> So, what happened with the DJ ASAP case and his wife [music] is allegedly they was running the typical run-of-the-mill pyramid scheme. You give us your money, invest it, we'll give it back 800%, 900% because we rather do that than to create jobs in our community, even though the fastest way to get wealth is by creating jobs, right? But, nevertheless, what's happening in America is violent crimes are actually dropping. No matter what they say about all this black violent crime all over the place, violent crime in America is on the decline.

[00:01:18]And so, they have a aging prison population that they need to replace.

[00:01:23]So, if you hit a little lick here, do a little play over there, you [music] quiet minding your business, they're coming with 40 years. They're coming with 40 years because they need the bodies. Remember that 13th Amendment loophole?

You just finna go do a little play right quick because if you mess up, um especially when you're stealing the the money of hardworking black people. But yeah, that's where we are now, man. Peo- people are getting 40 years for things that they would have gotten maybe 5 years for in the past because they need the bodies.
