True love often involves self-sacrifice, as demonstrated when the iron doll, who had been consuming his father's creations, chose to burn himself out on a mountaintop to prevent endangering his father again, showing that genuine affection means prioritizing another's safety over one's own existence.

He Hurt His Father: Then Sacrificed Himself πͺ΅πAdded:
The Iron Doll had loved eating wood since he was small. His father was a wooden man, and he never once complained. He built his son windmills, toys, furniture, and watched everyone get eaten. As the iron doll grew, so did his appetite. Toys gave way to furniture. Furniture gave way to the walls themselves. Holes appeared in the house. The father patched them as fast as he could, but the eating was always faster. One day, while the father was propping up the last of the structure, the iron doll ate the main support beam.
The house began to collapse. The father threw himself over his son to shield him. The beam crashed down on the father's body. He pushed it off, then immediately checked if his son was hurt.
He was fine. Only then did the father look at what was left of the house and feel the weight of it all. The iron doll tried to reach for him. The father pulled away and sat alone. That image stayed with the doll. Late that night, while his father slept, the iron doll made a decision. Thunder woke the father at dawn. His son was gone. Only a small windmill remained beside him. He searched and saw a bright light on a distant mountaintop. He climbed through the storm and found the iron doll standing motionless. The fire in his chest extinguished by the rain. He had run to the mountain to burn himself out alone so he would never endanger his father again. The father knelt beside him and began to blow on the flame.
