A welcome email series is an automated sequence of 3-5 emails triggered when someone joins your email list, designed to convert first-time subscribers into customers by leveraging their high intent and interest in your brand at the moment of signup. The series should include a trigger (subscription), timed delays between emails, and an exit condition (when the customer makes a purchase), with content that builds interest, encourages product exploration, and drives conversions.

How To Build A High Converting Welcome Email Series With OmnisendAdded:
Hey everybody, Justin Senior here. In this video, I'm going to teach you exactly how to build a highconverting welcome email series for your ecom store using Omnisend. It's going to be incredibly easy for you to follow along with this video and I'll show you how to do it step by step. The welcome email series is super powerful.
I'm going to teach you how to do it the exact right way. And if you're like most stores, you're probably leaving a ton of money, a ton of revenue, a ton of sales on the table the moment someone signs up for your email list or creates an account in your store. You really, really need to activate them as quickly as possible. And a welcome series is the is by far, it's not even close, it's by far the highest attention moment that you're ever going to get with your customers. And a really popular strategy is to run your store's email marketing with omnisend and set up a super easy welcome series that turns email subscribers into buyers automatically.
We're going to go over the shoulder.
I'll show you exactly how to do this.
Let me first describe exactly what a welcome series email looks like. First off, you have a trigger, right? And a welcome series means that there's going to be some automation involved. So, how does this start? When does the welcome series start? Well, the trigger to start it is when someone joins your email list. That's why it's called welcome, right? As soon as they literally, you know, they opt into the email, uh, you know, they sign up to your list. You want to trigger an instant response here, right? And the goal is to convert first-time subscribers into customers.
So, think about it. Someone's going to enter your email list because they're probably interested in your brand, right? They probably are navigating through the website. Maybe they saw a popup or an option to join in. Maybe you're giving them some discount or something like that. they're they're uh you know doing it for a reason. They're already a warm customer. It's more than just browsing the website. They're deciding to opt in with you. Really good chance that we can get them to convert, right? So, we know the trigger. We know the goal obviously of conversion. So, what are we going to actually have as the content? What are what is going to be inside the welcome series? Well, this is the key here. It's not just a welcome email. It's a welcome series. It's going to be a really wellthoughtout three to five email sequence that takes the customer on a buying journey. That's the key here. You know, we're not just welcoming them to say hi. We're welcoming them to, you know, get them to be more interested in our product, click into more products, and buy our products. And this works really well. It doesn't matter what you're selling. This is a strategy that you absolutely need to implement. And it works really well because it's your highest intent moment.
It's when people are the most interested in your brand. They're so interested, they want to subscribe to your email list. They want to learn more. They want to see more. We're going to give it to them immediately. And this happens a lot of time when people have just discovered your brand. So they're very warm.
They're very hot. They're very, very ready to learn more about you, to communicate with you, engage with you, and purchase from you. This is also fully automated. I'm going to show you how we could automate this in just a couple of clicks with Omnisense. So, it's really scalable revenue. Really, one of the most powerful ways to scale your business is through email marketing. And this is a really, really great automation part. And it also gives you really strong positioning. you have someone that is coming to your site, they're deciding to opt in, they want to connect with you more. You're immediately able to send them whatever messaging that you want to position sales however you want to do it. And by far the best way to do it is to do it with Omnisend. Highly, highly recommended. You see the link directly below this video. We're going to go over the shoulder. I'm going to show you Omniscent. I'm going to go inside my account and I'll show you step by step how to set up these welcome series. This is Omnis and you're going to get a crazy 30% off discount when you use code Justin. You see the link directly below this video. You'll be able to jump right in, walk through it step by step with me as I show you how to set up the welcome series, but there's just so much more you'll be able to do with Omnis. You're going to boost your sales with email and SMS. It's both built in here. You'll have tons and tons of automation, so you could literally just set it and forget it. You can personalize the right message for the right person. Great deliverability so you're always reaching the inbox. Tons and tons of templates, not just email templates, but series templates like I'm going to show you over here with lots of different automations, all the segmentation you could want. I've done a couple videos on Omnis. Make sure you check out my channel for more. But, uh, you see the link directly below this video. Again, get the code Justin to save 30% off.
We're going to go inside my account now, and I'll show you how to set this up.
I'm inside of my Omnisend account right over here on my dashboard. And all we need to do is come over here into the automation section. And you might see a list of automations if you already have any. If this is your first time coming over here, we're just going to go and create a workflow. You see this button right over here, create workflow.
Really, really easy to do. You could start from scratch, but of course, we're going to go with some of the pre-built templates here. And there are multiple welcome series that we can choose from.
In fact, we can come over here to welcome and take a look. We have our welcome. You see three emails. Welcome.
We have one email, one SMS, different types of uh strategy here. You have welcome wheel of fortune, you know, really really kind of customizable. Feel free to start from scratch as well if you uh really want kind of want to get creative. But if this is your first time, I highly recommend coming right here to welcome with the three emails and we'll click customize workflow, right? Nothing at all technical here.
It's literally what you see is what you get. We actually see the entire flow and all we need to do is just actually read it in, you know, common English. says, "Customers enter the workflow when they subscribe to marketing." Okay? So, when they opt in to marketing, when they opt into our email list, right? When they put their email in the box, however, we're collecting it on our site, right?
And they might be putting in their SMS as well, right? And basically, they exit this workflow when they place an order.
So, this protects against people who maybe purchased and then subscribed, right? We're trying to give this offer to new customers.
Why? Because a new customer is a lot harder to acquire and we'll have other marketing strategies and lots of other marketing automations to existing customers like retention and you know VIP lists and segments and all these ways to leverage them. But right here we're focusing on new customers. That's why we have this exit workflow right here. But don't worry too much about this. It's already all set up for you.
Right? You see the triggers, right?
Channel subscribers email. They use the subscription form. It's their first subscription, right? So, they are a new customer. Again, this is all set up for you over here. This is the trigger. You see, literally, it says wait, and this is a delay action. If you were to come in and create or edit it, you could add delays. So, for example, they enter in their email. It's going to wait 1 minute. What happens after 1 minute?
Well, we have our first email. Says, "Welcome to this will be our store.
Here's a 10% off discount to celebrate you joining us." So when we click over here now we see that actual content.
Okay. And this is all editable in terms of your own branding, your own voice, your own products, your own imagery. But it's going to automatically put in in this case a 10% coupon code right here.
And you could change the subject line.
You could change everything. The preheader of course you could change all the content, right? All of this. You could even add UTM settings if you're using Google Analytics. So you have everything fully tracked.
Otherwise, you could just literally let it go right now if you like how it looks. Maybe you want to add in your social media icons, change your name, change the address, that kind of good stuff. But you'll literally be able to have everything in this editor. And it's so super powerful because you see what's happening here. You see, okay, here's the trigger, here's the timing, here's welcome email number one. And you can guess what happens next. We now have a wait, another delay. Instead of 1 minute, now we're doing one day because we want to send these in terms of a sequence of days. And we're going to send the first one one minute after they sign up. We're going to send the next one one day later. And if you were to click on this, of course, you can customize this, right? You see different types of uh timings over here. You can get very specific, even the time of day of when it should be sent, but I'm going to keep that here. Here's our second email. And remember, there is the exit here. So, if they do place an order after email one, they're not going to get email number two, right? Right?
That's why Omnisend is so powerful. It has these triggers that are smart. Not only when they join, but when they leave as well. You have full control over that. Email number two, it's the same thing. You got a subject line over here.
You got all the content, right? This one's talking about the discount is waiting for you. Feel free to edit this content into your own voice. You know, change stuff up. Totally up to you. But, you know, this is kind of the way that they set it up in terms of being ready for you to go and enter in your own brand and your own content. So, that's email number two. Now we got email number three in four days. And this is typical where we don't go three days in a row. We'll go day one, day two, and then wait a few. Maybe you want to experiment with two days. Maybe you want to experiment with four or three. Or maybe you only want to send it on a Monday, right? Whatever you want to do.
I'm going to leave it at four because that's what Omnis recommends. Then of course, you see over here our third email, right? So now again, same thing.
Don't miss our 10% off discount. Right?
It's basically saying here's your last chance to use that discount. Again, customize it however you want. Update it when you make changes. You could even come down here and add some more. You could add more delays. You could add more emails. You could add SMSs, push notifications. Totally up to you. You'll be able to see your welcome series stats right over here. And you see that uh you know see who entered the flow, how many exited, completed in terms of making purchases. You'll see all these stats right over here. As this flow goes, last thing that you need to do is simply click start workflow and everything will power up and basically start, right?
It's set it and forget it. We now have a welcome flow. You see it's enabled. It's ready to go and it's going to make us a ton of money. So, that was Omnisend. And remember, you're going to get 30% off with my code. You see everything directly below this video. They offer easy migration. It's one of the best parts about it.
