[00:00:00]What if I told you that color of a crystal can disappear just because it lost water, no chemicals added, no reaction with acid, just heat and suddenly this beautiful crystal becomes white powder. That blue color of copper sulfate pentahhydrate is actually because water molecules are attached inside the crystal. As heating removes the water, the crystal loses both its color and crystal shape. And this attached water is called water of crystallization. An important NCERTT class 10th concept. Washing soda also contains water molecules attached to it.
