In collectible markets, high-profile sales of rare items can trigger significant price increases across related products, creating both opportunities and risks for investors; the recent $45,000+ sale of a DragonBall E42 Black Label card demonstrates how single transactions can drive market-wide price appreciation, with sealed booster boxes and gold energy markers subsequently seeing substantial price increases, while also highlighting the importance of understanding market cycles and avoiding overpaying during speculative peaks.

A DragonBall Card Just Sold for $45,000+ The Market WILL Never The SameAdded:
All right, ladies and gentlemen, I'm bracing myself for this one. We have another episode of Investibles. My name is Ryan, and we don't just talk about market data here, but we focus on buyer behavior.
Looking at the why behind the buy. Can we position ourselves early to realize the most amount of upside in our collection and investments. And you know what? I just wanted to get that intro out the way because today is Mon Hu Mental. We just saw the biggest public sale in Fusion World, the Black Label E42 on gold and closed out at 47,500.
Huge huge amount of money. That worked out to be 600 No, 66,000 and like 600 AUD. So, like 65,000 in my currency. I'm like taking it in just going wow.
And you know what? I feel like the E42 club has left me.
We We might not be hopping on that bandwagon with the way things are going.
And um if we're going by the how would you say the analogy of um a high tide raises all ships, then today we are going to be looking at what is going to come along with this ride. You know, huge amount of focus on this energy market. And all energy markets at the moment, we've got a big sealed SBO 1K auction happening, singles raw graded.
Let's talk about what is going to happen. What's going to come along and the direction of Fusion World as a whole. What opportunities exist within it, outside of it, all of that super juicy stuff. And before we get into the screen sharing segment, sharing segment.
I keep like doing that. I don't know what it is.
Probably cuz it's like 4:40 in the morning.
Um thank you to everyone who has been engaging, liking, sharing, commenting, talking to me in the chat section. I appreciate it so much. It's such a fun time. And this is what it's about. It's about bringing in people, building community, having conversations, and just sharing in the hobby, the fun, and all of that epic stuff. So, let's get into this right now. All right, so here we are. We were on golden.co. We're having a look at the auction that just recently finished on the E42 black label. 47,580 dollars buyers pre-with buyers premium.
33 bids on this. Um What do you What do you What do you It It says it for itself. This is huge. This is going to bring a lot of attention. It's going to be flooded across social media platforms. It is going to be the talk of the town for this next week. We're going to probably start to see a lot of people who have their PSA 10 BGS 10 9.5 E42s be listed trying to hop on this train, grab some premium on that if they can, or be confident in holding this long-term. So, super fascinating sale and what that kind of means moving forward. And if we're going to talk about what that means moving forward, then we're going to jump to sealed product because this card obviously comes from a booster box, and that booster box is SBO1. And over here right now, we have this auction.
21 bids ends in 1 day 18 hours. And this is a sealed case of SBO1. Currently sitting at 25,300 Australian dollars. I'm pretty sure this guy Yeah, he is an Australian seller.
Shellcove Australia.
And I don't know if that necessarily caps its potential if there's enough buyers here in Australia. I'm sure there's some international people bidding on this, but then they might also be speculating in how well is this going to come posted to me? Could customs open it? All of those kind of things that might run through your mind, or at least run through mine.
But, at the moment, it's sitting at rather a low price for me personally. If we're going to see a card like that E42 sell for 65,000 Australian dollars, and you got the case listed at 25, and look, I'm sure this is going to rally when we get close to it finishing.
but it's it's a $50,000 case in my eyes. Um I can't be convinced otherwise. And it to to be honest, if I'm going full speculator mode engaged, this should be at uh OP blue bottom prices. The value in these boxes is absolutely mental. You know, you have those guaranteed two gold energy marker hits, two gold leaders, and everything in between. You know, the set value is $60,000 plus. I'm sure that I'm sure that's going to have gone up now that interest is surging in. And it You know, the value that you potentially can get out of something like this, which is what people are trying to equate in their minds. If I'm buying this box, if I'm buying this case, what is in it? What is the top chase? What is all the things in between?
It's huge. It's huge. So, this is the next biggest thing on my radar personally is to see where this case goes. And then following suit on the case, cuz not everyone can afford what this is going to go for.
We're going to move to booster boxes of SBO1. And for me, what I'm seeing right now is since that auction, people have raised the floor about another three about another two to 300 Australian dollars across the board. And when we flick down here, uh here we are.
We got an auction going on right now. 7 days, 8 hours. It's already up to 30 bids.
>> [clears throat] >> Excuse me. In the United States. And it's $2,832 Aussie. And it finishes in a week. I don't know who bidded this thing up so quickly, but that is just absolutely nuts.
And here we are in some, you know, we have some Australian listings around 2350, 24, 2250 buy it now.
Um I'm telling you, if you can scoop up some of these Australian listings, and I've said this before, and if you're in the US, that if you can get on to the Australian eBay and look at the prices, there is a difference. And I know that postage really isn't that much. I've sent a few things to the US lately. It's about 30 It's been about $35 to send um a card. I know it could be like 50, 60 bucks maybe to send this, but that really isn't um that much considering the the price disparity. And you know, it says it just here. You're already up to 2832, and you've got boxes here sitting at 2350 best offer. Maybe it takes 2250, and then you're you've already just saved yourself $500 whatever that is in US, 300.
Just putting it out there for you all.
Just putting it out there because this is going to touch 3K, and on the 3K note, here we are. Boom. Sold 19th of May. I checked. I don't believe they made best offer.
Please 130 point it if you want. I don't know why 130 point it just gets super moody with me over here in Australia.
Maybe I'm doing it all wrong. You tell me what's up.
3.3 thousand. That is a big big big big jump. But sometimes these sales make me wonder, are they legit? Are they not?
Cuz I usually would prefer to see it go 22, 24, 23, 25, and you know, just escalate over time. But to jump pretty much $1300 off the rip from yesterday to today is massive because the prior 2 days we're seeing we're seeing a little bit more sales volume pick up in both SBO1 SBO2. There's more boxes being sold as more interest comes in. And I'm speculating that these are either newer people who don't have these boxes more than people who have already established their position, but you just never know. So, there was what? 123 here yesterday.
Um we had Japanese box on the 17th sell for a thousand. I remember saying this when these were 450, 500 that these are too cheap compared to the English box.
And yeah, even on the 17th here, someone decided to push. They wanted a big amount of seller feedback, 6.8K, $2,769.
And that's it, you know, we are running.
And if we punch over to SBO2, then we are starting to see things rise once again. What was once a thousand AUD box is now pushing up to the 1250 mark.
We've got someone here, once again, wanting that you know, big amount of seller feedback, 70,060 That's so much so much feedback. Now, they paid 1,900. Buy it now.
Just for that.
I have to have it in good condition from someone reputable. We drop down, 1,616.
1,258.
29 bids on auction.
Um that's a little bit more of a sensible one. And if we go No, do I have it?
We'll go back. Let's just have a look at what's actually being listed at the moment. And look, once again, in Australia, we're still seeing that little bit of a lag behind that two, maybe $300 behind or you know, 150, 250, to $100 behind on the Australian listings versus the American listings.
That same hour charge can be done again.
If you've got a cool $90,000, you can buy both. I know I will not be. There is the odd case. There is the odd There's only about three people who have listed cases.
One person is running the auction that I showed you, and the other two are asking massive amounts of money, and they're probably just happy to sit on this until people discover or value kind of comes to them, if if it will. Now, shifting over shifting over to gold energy markers. Now, I'm sure there's a massive amount of private sales going on right now. People would be scouring marketplace. What are What What other places that you look at for these cards, going to shows, I'm sure.
There's going to be more and more interest diving in. And you know, we're seeing we're seeing kind of the same steady selling here on eBay. We just saw the E70 go for 1,800 raw. And I really don't know why this card is all of a sudden taking off and being so much more expensive. You know, it's from SVO2.
Yeah, E70. It's got Goku, the bike. Um it's cool. Is it like super cool? $1,800 cool? I mean, I couldn't justify it, to be honest.
Here we got the E54 gold that sold at 1384.
And you know, like things are coming up to about $1,500 for raw copies of gold energy markers.
PSA 10 sales are pushing like 23 And then then you know, like when we move up the tiers in energy markers, they're going for three, five, and then some, you know, obviously all the way up to $65,000.
Just nuts.
Now, do I recommend jumping in at these prices?
>> [gasps] >> It's hard for me because I have price memory. And I know what I jumped in at on these prices. And I hate to say it, but >> [snorts] >> I paid 120 Australian average for my gold energy markers. And it frightens me to see the absolute differences. That's sub 100 USD, which is just absolutely mental.
I'm sorry. That is like it's an offensive amount that I bought them for.
And a lot of people bought them for that for that amount, too. And so, I have a bunch of gold energy markers, a few I'm willing to sell. Should I plug myself?
Maybe.
Um but I think the opportunity cost is very high. And we're here speculating on is a BGS 10 is a PSA 10 going to jump further and further and further? And for me, to be honest, as beautiful as they are, these are getting super, super costly. And it's just not somewhere I'm willing to place my money to realize a large amount of upside. I just don't I think in the super high tiers, where the the large money is hanging, then yes, there could be place to be made there, but for me generally this is just more now. I'm just enjoying seeing what is happening with these sales, not necessarily looking to buy any of them or you know, at all. So, what opportunity exists? What do you mean if we talk if we if we just get outside of Manga SBO and SBO2 because we know everything is going to run, it's going to keep running. It's the peak, it's the pinnacle sets for probably performance, for interest, the artwork, the time, the history. There's nothing else like it I've seen. They are amazing, no doubt.
But what is next? What is next for Fusion World? And you know, if we jump over to here, this isn't a very exciting photo. FB10 Cross Force, we're starting to see more cards leaked. We've seen most of the Awaken Leaders.
And to me, this is where I'm allocating more of my funds. I'm selling a little bit of stuff that is going up and I'm moving more into focusing on pre-orders of new sets buying either cases or boxes and just looking to do the steady accumulation. Kind of that bread and butter of sealed investing. Just purchasing a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, sitting on it, selling off a few boxes, trying to reduce my cost basis so I can hold on to these boxes for a longer period of time. And so FB10 is the next release. Pre-order shipped for that ages ago.
Um but I'm just showing you what's coming next. Then So, that's in June, releasing June 12th and then we pop over here. This is probably the next biggest thing that's going to happen in Fusion World is this Story Booster 01. It's a new concept they're taking um art from the anime rather than the manga and impressioning it onto cards to create this Story Booster. We're in the Buu Saga here and we know that there's going to be three Story Boosters. You can imagine there's going to be Cell, whatever.
And yeah, this This is already selling for a large amount on both TCGplayer pre-orders.
People are extremely bullish on this set. I did put a pre-order in for a case, so we shall see when allocations come out what fortune has been bestowed upon me.
And now let's switch over to some questions that I've been getting about Masters.
And it's really interesting that this because you know, we have where the limelight is being shown. We've got the light on Fusion World, but then we have in the shadows, we have Masters. We have all these other sets that have been either released or releasing.
And they're not getting as much attention. And sometimes where the attention isn't is where opportunity exists. And people have been asking me, "Look, I'm potentially thinking of buying two cases of B20. These people want to sell it to me at a really reasonable price." And that's the thing, people or shops or whatever might be wanting to just be going, "Oh, we're going all in on Fusion World. I want to ditch these cases. I want to sell this.
I want to buy this stuff. I want to be a part of it." And buying someone else's pain is where opportunity can exist, taking that from them at a low price.
They don't want to hold it, but you're willing to stick with the uncomfortable knowing that this isn't going to last forever.
>> [clears throat] >> And that there could be interest shifting and upside potential for you in the future. And we know that at the end of the year, we have the B32 set. It's meant to be a zero to 200 serialized Master set. The last one that we have was History of Z, and that's sitting at about 1,500 a box. So, for me right now, I'm projecting myself a little bit more into the future, a little bit more outside of the limelight, and trying to see what I can find that will you know, that will essentially yield me um something profitable, something that doesn't have attention on it because all of the stuff that's going to have attention on it is going to have a large premium and we're seeing that in SP01, SP02, markers, alt arts, particularly tournament cards, promos. I still think there is opportunity that exists within side grading, picking up copies of scarce cards, putting those onto the market, listing on eBay. All of that stuff. And so, today that is really it. We're just We wanted to focus on what was going to be happening with the sealed market in terms of manga.
Looking a little bit further ahead on FB10, ST01, and then contemplating, speculating, if we get outside of the limelight, is there opportunity other opportunity that exists? And I think some smart people are starting to kind of clue on and go, "This might not last forever even though interest is always going to be massive in Fusion World." But, could there be other plays behind the scenes that have minimum downside risk? And I think there's some big opportunities that people just aren't looking at. So, do some research, have a look, see if you can find, you know, some deals behind the scenes where people just want to get rid of it. You can get a good deal and whatnot. And that's it. We're rounding out the episode today. We're not doing the full comprehensive market watch going through promos, silver energies, alt arts, all that kind of stuff. We're going to be back on Friday looking at all of that stuff. The SP01 case auction will have finished. We'll see where that lands and continue to give you the latest on all things Dragon Ball Fusion World manga. Let's see where this goes. I'm bracing for the ride, having such a fun time. Thank you for tuning in. I'd love it if you like, share, subscribe, leave a comment. Tell me what your thoughts are about the direction of Fusion World. What are you seeing that I might not be? I'd love to hear it. Thanks so much for tuning in.
Have a great day.
