This video examines the Daystar Television Network leadership crisis following the death of founder Marcus Lamb in 2021, where his son Jonathan Lamb was fired despite having a written succession plan from his father. The case illustrates how religious organizations can become entangled in family disputes, with issues including NDAs, GPS tracking, and performance improvement plans that may conflict with stated succession wishes. The video emphasizes the importance of accountability, truth-seeking, and prayer in resolving such conflicts within the Body of Christ.

Heartbreaking! Daystar Power Struggle After Joni Lamb Died Is Getting WorseAdded:
Hey, hey, hey, welcome back to the channel. If you're new here, I am so glad you found us. And if you've been riding with me for a while, you already know. When there's something happening in the body of Christ that we need to talk about, we talk about it. Not to gossip, not to throw stones, but because accountability and truth matter in the house of God. And today, oh, today we are diving deep. We are talking about Daystar Television Network, one of the biggest Christian broadcasting in the entire world, and the very public, very painful firing of Jonathan Lamb, the son of the founders.
Buckle up because this story has NDAs, a secret car tracker, a controversial re-marriage, a father's dying wishes, and a whole lot of social media heat.
Let's get into it. So, first, let me give you some background for those who may not know the full picture.
Daystar Television Network was co-founded by Marcus and Joni Lamb back in the 1990s. If you've ever flipped through Christian channels late at night, you've seen Daystar. It's a global network, massive reach, massive influence. Marcus Lamb was the visionary behind it all.
Sadly, Marcus passed away in November 2021, and since then, Joni Lamb has been serving as president and CEO.
Now, Jonathan Lamb, that's Marcus and Joni's son. He grew up in that ministry.
That was his family's life work. He served as vice president, he was on the board. This was supposed to be his legacy, too.
But something went very, very wrong.
Jonathan Lamb was fired from Daystar.
Terminated. Done. And the termination letter came on November 16th. Now, here's where it gets interesting because there are two completely different stories being told about why this happened.
Daystar's official statement says Jonathan was let go because he repeatedly failed to comply with a performance improvement plan, a PIP, that had six specific points.
And they say when that PIP expired, so did his employment.
But Jonathan tells a very different story. He says the real trouble started when he refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement. And once he said no to that NDA, he says they stripped him of his board position, stripped him of his vice president role in 2023. And then get this, they put him in charge of the cafe, the facilities department, and distribution. From VP to running the cafe.
Jonathan called it exactly what it sounds like. He said, "They were placing me in this position as a form of punishment for not agreeing to their demands of signing the NDA."
Now, I want you to sit with that for a second. This is the founder's son. The man whose father built this thing from the ground up. And they've got him managing the cafeteria.
Now, let's talk about what was actually in that performance improvement plan, because some of these points are eyebrow-raising, to say the least.
Point number three was about social media. Jonathan and his wife Suzy were told they could not post anything on social media about his reassignment, about the PIP itself, about any decisions made by Daystar leadership, or about whether he or Suzy appeared on Daystar programs without first getting written approval from the CEO or a trustee.
Written approval before posting on their own personal social media.
And then point number five. This one is personal.
It says Jonathan had expressed religious objections to the marriage of Doug Weiss to CEO Joni Lamb. And the PIP basically told him to get over it because marriage had been vetted and affirmed as biblical by credible pastoral counselors.
And here's the context you need. Joni Lamb remarried in 2023. She married a man named Doug Weiss.
Now, the Christian Post reported that Doug Weiss had actually filed for divorce from his previous wife, Lisa, just two months after Marcus Lamb died.
Two months.
So, Jonathan, as a son and as a Christian, had objections to his mother's remarriage, and those objections ended up being literally written into his performance improvement plan as something he needed to stop expressing.
Now, just when you think this story couldn't get more intense, it does.
The Roys Report, which has been covering the situation closely, released audio from that actual Daystar board meeting on November 16th, 2023.
And in that audio, you don't just hear arguments about the NDA. You hear discussions about a tracker, a GPS tracker that Daystar secretly placed in Jonathan's car.
His car, without his knowledge. I don't know about you, but when a ministry starts secretly tracking their own VP's vehicle, something has gone deeply sideways. That is not how you handle a family dispute. That is not how you handle an employment disagreement. That is certainly not how the body of Christ is supposed to operate. Now, here is perhaps the most significant piece of this entire puzzle. An email has surfaced, and it's signed by Marcus Lamb himself, dated August 10th, 2021. He sent it to the Daystar board, to the leadership, and to the Lamb family. And the subject line, "Important directive."
In this email, Marcus wrote, and I want to be careful to represent this accurately. He said that since he was older than Joni, he would likely go to heaven first, and so he was laying out his wishes. His directive was that if he passed away, Joni would take over as head of Daystar. And then, here's the key part. He wrote, "I further direct that if Joni passes or retires, then Jonathan Lamb will become the head of Daystar." He even asked Joni, Jonathan, and Tom Calendar to respond to the email to ratify it. And he instructed that the email be placed in the official minutes of Word of God Fellowship Inc. This was Marcus Lamb's expressed wish, in writing, with his signature, to the board.
And Daystar's response to all of this?
They say Jonathan's actions are simply the result of bitterness over not being named president after Marcus died. That this is all just a smear campaign.
But Carol Sayre on social media asked the question a lot of people are thinking. Was this also in Marcus's last will? And if so, does Jonathan have a legal right to the ministry?
That is a question that may end up in a courtroom.
Now, let's talk about the court of public opinion, because the comments and tweets on this situation are very telling.
Angie Jewel McLemore on Facebook wrote a heartfelt response, saying, "This is truly sad, and that she's praying for Jonathan and Suzy." She mentioned other people who she believes were hurt by the leadership, and she ended by saying, "The Lord God is in control. He will not be mocked, as his judgment is swift."
And that got 159 likes.
Mark Firmanich simply asked, "So, is Jonathan taking over Daystar?" 123 people liked that. The people want answers.
On the other side, a Twitter user named Country View Roley said Jonathan and Suzy deeply betrayed their mother and the ministry. But another user, Maggie Gilliam, pushed back hard, saying that making bold statements about something you only know from one side is very, very dangerous.
And that's fair. We have to be careful, church. Two sides, both claiming truth.
Jeff Nichols on Twitter made a joke, but it landed. Saying if Daystar keeps going this direction, we might find it's changed its name to Dougstar. That would make people laugh, but honestly, it speaks to a real concern many viewers have about the new direction of the network.
One user said, "Honestly, after everything, they wouldn't even walk to walk back through Daystar's doors if they were Jonathan." And you know what?
I understand that sentiment. Jonathan's wife, Suzy Lamb, has been speaking up on social media, too. And what she said broke a lot of people's hearts.
She posted that when something significant happened, and it appears this was related to a deathbed moment or final goodbye, she and Jonathan were nearby, down the road, but were not called. They were not informed. They were not given a chance to say goodbye.
She said, "We forgive them. Thank you for praying for Jonathan.
We forgive them."
Church, that is grace under fire. That is someone choosing the high road in an incredibly painful situation.
Suzy also posted about grief, about how it's a mix of love, pain, anger, and loss all at once.
But she said the only reason they're still standing is because they didn't act in the flesh. They acted in obedience to God. And she said, "He is worth it all."
I don't know what all has happened behind those closed doors, but I know that kind of faith is real.
That's not performance. That's somebody who has genuinely been through something. So, where does this leave us?
Look, I'm not here to declare who's right and who's wrong. I wasn't in those board meetings. I didn't hear all the audio. I don't know every detail of what happened inside the Lamb family since Marcus passed.
But here's what I do know.
A father's dying wishes seem to have been set aside.
A son was removed from his family's ministry. A daughter-in-law was told she needed approval before she could speak on her own social media.
A GPS tracker was allegedly put in someone's car, and a termination letter threatened a man with defamation laws if he spoke out.
That doesn't sound like a ministry running on the principles of the kingdom of God.
That sounds like a corporation protecting itself.
Now, maybe there's more to the story.
The Roys Report says the audio is out there. You can listen for yourself, and I encourage you to do that. Don't just take my word for it. Don't just take Daystar's word for it. Don't just take Jonathan's word for it. Seek the truth.
Pray for discernment.
But most importantly, pray for this family.
Pray for Joni. Pray for Jonathan and Suzy. Pray for the staff at Daystar who are just trying to do ministry in the middle of all this chaos.
And pray that truth wins.
Because in the end, it always does.
Proverbs 12:19 says, "Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment."
Whatever lies have been told in this situation by anyone, they won't last.
But the truth will.
All right, that's it for today. If this video helped you, share it. Drop a comment below. I want to know what you think about all of this. Subscribe if you haven't already.
And as always, stay in the word, stay in prayer, and I'll see you next time.
God bless.
