It Cost Me $150/Daily Just To Leave The House In 2026Hinzugefügt:
What's up, YouTube?
We back, man. We just sliding.
About to hit the car wash.
And then we post we going to yoga tonight.
Or we might go do some walking. I don't know. Let's go do some exercise.
Um I was just sitting here thinking, YouTube.
I was just really thinking.
How much does it cost you every time you leave your house?
How much does life really cost on a daily basis? We not talking about splurging.
Just waking up, going about your day, doing stuff you do. How much does it cost per day to be you?
How much does it cost to live like you?
And I was really sitting thinking about it, and I think for me on the average, for me just to get through my day, I'm spending between $75 and $150 a day.
Every day.
And today was another example of you cannot be doing nothing to spending money and this end up spending money.
Now, if you've been following me for the for this channel for a while, you know I got kids.
I got three kids. I got cars. I got We got we got all type of [ __ ] going on, man. Like, you know, it's just life life happenings and whatnot, right? And today, this morning, I went to my part-time job where I make uh $16.50 an hour.
Um you know, you you know, YouTube, we family. I don't I don't mind lying to y'all. I'm not lying to y'all. I don't mind being honest with y'all.
You guys know I don't work for money. I do it to be to have structure, to be uh productive because I have too much time on my hands being retired.
So, I went to work today from I think 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Um I usually work 10 to 15 hours a week, you know, sometimes 20, but I went to work today.
Uh where I work at, they provide you with coffee, food, snacks, whatever, so you never got to come out of pocket when you want to eat something, right?
And soon as I leave, my mechanic calls me.
He goes, "Hey, your Honda's ready." I got a Honda Accord.
Okay, I got a catalytic converter. If you don't know a Honda Accord, I think it has two catalytic converters.
He was like, "Yeah, yeah, the Honda's ready. You can pick it up tonight." I said, "Well, how much I owe you?"
Mind you, he had the Honda for a whole month cuz he'd been busy, I'd been busy.
I really ain't tripping on the car. I get it when I get it. He just called me on a random Monday after we just came from Nashville, spending all that money just to go to Nashville, right? $420.
Okay, cool. He sent me a request, you know, we got we do LLC LLC. He sent me the request. I wired him the money. We don't do no Apple Pay or none of it. I seen him I I seen it cuz everything is itemized and deductible with me.
Sent him the request. Then my two daughters, they got to go to the hair store. So, I get off work, take them to the hair store, $85. So, right there I'm at $500.
Then, you know, we need a little bit of things like we out of the then we out of laundry detergent, eggs, you know, juice, milk, you know, cuz like I said, when you go out of town, you always use to clean out the refrigerator, so you ain't leaving [ __ ] in there when you come back, you got a fresh house. So, I had to buy some groceries.
Groceries high in the [ __ ] Really didn't buy [ __ ] $75. So, I done spent 420, 85, and $75. Mind you, nothing for myself. Oh, and I bought lunch. No, my girl bought lunch today, I'm lying. She gave me $22 to go buy pizza for me and my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter got uh a barbecue chicken plate with my girl from some lady that cook cook uh cook food, right? So, I spent 420, 85 at the hair store, and 75 on groceries. How much is that, YouTube? 160 + 420 is $580 I spent today.
As I'm talking to you now, I'm headed to the car wash. But, I ain't got to come out of pocket cuz I spent I I paid $80 a month for a membership for three cars.
So, what's the math on that, YouTube?
420 + 160 is what? $580 on the spend. Then, we're going to go to yoga tonight. Then, you know they're going to want something to eat. That's going to be over $600.
This is just a typical day in the life of Josh Jenkins. I'm not doing nothing flashy. You don't see me riding around with a Audemars or riding around in a S-Class. Like, all our cars are paid for, and we choose to live like that. We're not flashy. We want something flashy, I'll go rent it from Hertz. Hertz, holler at me. I need a sponsorship. I'm presidential with y'all.
But, the point is life is so expensive. It's expensive to be alive.
And that's that that statement couldn't be more true.
Okay?
I spend $150 a day just to walk out the front door and just live my normal life.
Just bullshitting being Josh Jenkins. We ain't talking about buying And if you follow me on Instagram, I buy a lot of sneakers. Like I said, I don't have a lot of vices like you guys.
I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't go to the club. So, I buy I got I got a sneaker fetish. I buy a lot of sneakers.
Okay? If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see I buy a lot of sneakers.
Okay? Sometimes, I do unboxings on here.
But, um you know, like I said, I got a kid in college, kid in high school, kid in middle school.
And they're not necessarily expensive.
It's more so that you got to have money to be ready when [ __ ] does come up with these kids cuz [ __ ] is going to come up.
School fees My my son lost his lacrosse helmet yesterday at his travel game.
He left it Saturday after the game. So, Sunday morning he realized before the game he lost his helmet. Guess we had to spend $350 yesterday.
My son's mom called me yesterday morning when I'm in Nashville trying to relax saying he lost his helmet. How you lose a whole lacrosse helmet? I snapped on it, but you got to understand these are the kids these days.
We had to spend money on on the at the spot on the spot at the field before his game. $350 helmet.
You know.
So, stuff like that happens. That's why you got to keep hustling. When people ask, "Oh, well, if you're retired, why you be working here?" And I bro, I don't work hard like that. I pressure clean when I want to.
I'll make a thousand, two thousand in one day, guys. In 4 hours of work I'll make $2,000. You do the math on that. I do houses two, three times a week. Some weeks I don't have nothing. Like this week I don't have nothing scheduled cuz I got my kids coming down and they get out of school. I didn't want to have any conflict of schedules, right?
So, you know, with me having to always be readily available, but yet some somehow have the money, that's why I go back to telling you guys you need to have passive income. Oh, and I forgot to mention my daughter had to have two college textbooks for her summer classes.
Paid today, $135.
It was like 79 and 45, something like that.
The point is I'm saying all these numbers to say this.
It costs a lot of money to live comfortably. Not rich, not extravagant, flamboyant, flashy.
It costs a lot of money in today's economy just to live comfortable.
If you not a hustler, if you ain't somebody that that that that doesn't want to do long nights and just want to work a 40-hour work week and not invest in anything or start anything, you you my friend are behind the eight ball.
And just like my boy Anthony TV always be trying to preach to y'all, don't don't quit your job to go be an entrepreneur. Don't ever mess up your for sure money.
But at the same time, you need to grow your money.
And me really sitting back and just thinking about how much money I spent today, what if I had like a what if I had like a trip coming up that I needed the money for, I needed to save up. I just put myself behind a thousand dollars.
You know, so little stuff, unexpected things like that. Oh, not to mention, when I get the Honda back, I got to go get pricing on new tires and an alignment. I'm not a guy that buys used tires.
The point is, how much does it cost you to to go through your day? How much do you How much do you spend every time you leave your house? Whether you packing a lunch and you buying expensive ass groceries, whether you putting gas in your V8 or that diesel you driving.
How much gas does it How much How much allowance do you give your kids every week? If you got one kid, two kids, three kids.
Lawn care maintenance. I paid the lawn guy $35 to cut the front, $35 to cut the back.
No problem. I want him to trim the bushes, $20. These are fixed costs.
I don't have a bunch of subscriptions. I got Netflix, but my daughter got Disney Plus, my girl and my daughter got Hulu, and then the rest of them we get through Xfinity, so I don't come out of pocket outside of Netflix.
So, um to to to just to just to have your family comfortable, everybody got to have a iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad. One kid got a MacBook, the other kid want a MacBook.
That just is just the way it go. You complain at the kid. That's the way they living now.
That's the new millennial kids. So, you know, you got to be real with yourself instead of sitting on this internet everyday, you sitting on YouTube watching everybody. When you cut this phone off and you cut my video off, that's the real you. And you got to look in your eyes and say, "Did I do everything I need to do that day to make tomorrow to make tomorrow comfortable for myself and my family?" If the answer is no, you shouldn't be on YouTube watching videos and and buying this and talking to hoes and and and and and and all the celebrity drama comments on Instagram, go get your [ __ ] together, man, cuz every time you walk out that door, it's going to cost you a fee.
Remember that.
See y'all in the next one.
