The segment prioritizes sensationalist rhetoric over substantive analysis, reducing complex socio-political issues to mere fodder for partisan outrage. It serves as a prime example of how modern media commodifies polarization rather than fostering genuine intellectual discourse.
Deep Dive
Prerequisite Knowledge
- Concept 01Basic understanding of Elon Musk's entrepreneurial achievements, including founding Tesla (electric vehicles) and SpaceX (reusable rockets and space exploration).
- Concept 02Core principles of free speech, particularly the First Amendment protections in the United States and its limitations.
- Concept 03Key concepts of censorship and content moderation, including the roles of governments, social media platforms, and private companies.
- Concept 04Common societal criticisms of wealthy entrepreneurs, such as wealth inequality, monopolistic practices, and undue political influence.
Billionaire Oligarchy and Selective Free Speech HypocrisyCounterpoint
Critics argue that wealthy entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, who champion 'free speech absolutism,' hypocritically wield their vast resources to control narratives on platforms like X (formerly Twitter). While decrying censorship, Musk has suspended journalists, throttled links to rivals, and amplified right-wing content and conspiracy theories, suppressing left-leaning voices and union efforts. This perspective highlights how billionaire ownership of digital infrastructure creates oligarchic gatekeeping, prioritizing personal agendas over genuine free expression. Scholars and activists, including those from the Center for Humane Technology, contend this undermines democracy, spreads misinformation, and concentrates power unelectedly, turning 'free speech' into a tool for elite influence rather than universal rights.
Where to go next
- Step 01In-depth analysis of Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter (now X) and its implications for platform governance and free speech policies.
- Step 02Exploration of legal frameworks like Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and emerging regulations such as the EU's Digital Services Act.
- Step 03Comparative studies of criticisms faced by other tech billionaires, e.g., Jeff Bezos (Amazon) and Mark Zuckerberg (Meta).
- Step 04Broader debates on the balance between free speech, misinformation, and democratic discourse in the digital age.
- Step 05Real-world applications in policy advocacy, journalism ethics, and participating in public debates on tech regulation.

Lefties Losing It: Cardi B's shocking statement about killer Karmelo Anthony
Added:And it's time for Lefty's losing it.
And sadly, the disgusting antics of Carmelo Anthony's racist supporters continues.
I guess we can't expect too much from anyone who defends and champions a murderer, but Anthony's demented fan boy and girls are reaching new lows.
There've even been cases of people being attacked after being accused of being on the jury.
>> Hey bro, weren't you >> jury selection?
Weren't you on jury selection?
>> No, I wasn't.
>> Yes, you was.
>> No, I wasn't.
>> Yes, you was.
>> No, I wasn't.
>> Yes, you was.
>> No, I wasn't.
>> Yes, the hell you was.
>> And here is another case, this time a young man filming himself assaulting a stranger accusing him of being on the jury.
>> Hey, weren't you on jury selection?
>> No.
>> No, he wasn't. No, he wasn't.
He wasn't.
>> He was on jury selection.
>> He ain't been on jury.
>> He's a rat, dude.
>> He's a rat.
>> He's a rat. He ain't been on jury selection.
>> I wasn't on jury selection.
>> You're going to die.
>> Quit, dude.
>> You on jury? Weren't you on jury selection?
>> No, he wasn't. He wasn't.
>> You on jury selection?
>> wasn't.
>> And rapper Cardi B, the Democrat warrior who spoke at a Kamala Harris rally during the presidential campaign, well, she's joined in the lunacy with this hot take.
>> I sure learned something from this. I learned to tell my sons do not argue with no white boys cuz baby, ain't no law protecting you if something goes down with them. That's what I learned from this case. I'm going to tell my sons, you argue with a white boy, walk the way cuz the law don't protect you.
>> Yeah, the law does tend to frown upon boys who start fights and then facially stab a teenager.
Turns out murder is illegal, Cardi, even for your sons. Yes. Now, let's go to a woman at a pride rally of all places who admits to being prejudiced. She's quite proud of it.
>> I could be very prejudiced, heavy on it, and I'm proud.
>> You're proud to be prejudiced against white people?
>> Yes. Y'all are proud to be racist, aren't y'all?
>> And things escalate quickly when she learns that a black man not only voted for Trump, but he actually believes in borders.
>> I voted for mass deportation of all illegal aliens cuz they hurt black people the most.
>> Why can't she keep speaking?
She wants to speak into the mic.
Can I have my mic, please?
>> No, no, we're not stopping them.
>> Woah. Look at them.
>> Now to the first trillionaire, a man who has built several empires, who has safeguarded free speech by spending tens of billions of his own money buying X, formerly Twitter, and who along with Donald Trump is the most hated man among lefties losing it. They used to love him when they thought he was all just about electric cars, but now he must be destroyed, and they were excited not too long ago about how much money he was losing. They were particularly excited about Twitter's supposed demise as advertisers, spooked by leftist activists, fled. But Elon Musk proved even then he was not for sale. He was not going to compromise principle for money.
>> Don't advertise.
You don't want them to advertise?
>> No.
>> What do you mean?
If If somebody's going to try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, go [ __ ] yourself.
But, go yourself.
Is that clear?
I hope it is.
Hey Bob, if you're in the audience.
>> Hey Bob, that Bob was Bob Iger, the former CEO of Disney.
If you can judge a man by his enemies, then Elon Musk may just be one of the greatest men to have ever drawn breath, ever. And well done to Maaz Muth for this superb compilation.
>> This dude is probably one of the most unintelligent billionaires I have ever met or seen or witnessed.
Um >> Being a freeloader and a selfish and disrespectful one, and for misappropriating black vernacular for misogynistic purposes, Elon Musk is the absolute worst.
>> The world's richest freeloader apparently has a very thin skin.
>> Elon Musk kind of turned out to be >> And uh I don't want to be driving a car built and designed by >> Elon Musk is incompetent. He's incompetent. He's a thief. He's a Nazi.
>> Musk is a pathological liar.
He's a criminal.
Um he's a sociopath and a ghoul.
>> You cannot say that someone like Elon Musk is an intellectual.
>> Really what he's up to is, you know, um snorting ketamine and and tweeting at all hours of the the day and night.
>> The guy's The guy's a joke, right? He really is a joke.
A- The more I hear him talk, I'm astonished at how dumb Elon Musk is.
But, look at what he did with SpaceX and and Starlink and all these companies.
He's got to He's got to be somewhat intelligent. The more I hear him talk, the more I'm like, holy This dude tripped over his dick and became successful.
>> Yes, the dude who began with practically nothing, came from a terrible background, violent father, was almost bashed to death by thugs at school.
He's now plucking spaceships out of the sky, rescuing stranded astronauts, has sent more satellites into space than everyone else combined. SpaceX now controls around 70% of all active satellites orbiting Earth. Yes, that guy is a dummy, according to the left, and is a freeloader, too. The man who pays more tax than anyone else in the US is a freeloader, apparently. And he's dangerous, so so dangerous he needs to be silenced and prosecuted. And the Elon Musk derangement extends to Australia.
Let's hear from Sarah Ferguson from the taxpayer-funded ABC.
They get more than 8 billion dollars of our money to relentlessly push hard-left activism.
And sadly, that includes greater censorship online. That's what they want.
>> Video of the horrific knife attack, which we've chosen not to show, was posted online. Far-right agitators then shared the material, using it to stoke racial tensions and push for violent retribution. The UK regulator has powers directing tech companies to remove violent posts and control racially charged responses. But Elon Musk chose instead to double down on inciting rhetoric on his platform.
>> Incitement, Sarah? Really? She's, of course, talking about the attempted beheading in Belfast and the fallout after that. Allowing the truth, allowing debate and free speech is now incitement. You want authorities to control what people can see and discuss?
Yet another member of the media championing more censorship. And over on Sky News UK, Cathy Newman, you remember her, the woman who was thoroughly humbled by Jordan Peterson.
>> So, you haven't sat there and I'm just trying I'm just trying to work that out. I mean >> Ha, got you.
>> You have got me. You have got me. I'm trying to work that through in my head.
Yeah, yeah, it took a while. It took a while.
Took a while.
>> She still hasn't worked it out, has she?
And she still wants further curbs on free speech, the free speech of others, of course, not hers.
>> But consensus isn't really what Elon Musk does. For nearly a fortnight he's been posting in lurid terms about the murder. He responded approvingly, for example, to the ex-Reform Party MP Rupert Lowe, who vowed this week that his new party, Restore Britain, would, and I quote, with the British people's approval, put Vikram Digwa, Novak's murderer, to death.
And [snorts] Musk has amplified the far right before. Here he is last year beaming into a Tommy Robinson rally bemoaning what he sees as a threat to freedom of speech in the UK.
>> Well, Elon, tonight the Labour government appears to be fighting back against you.
>> Joining me now is Newsweek's senior editor-at-large Josh Hammer. Josh, forget about TDS, it's Musk Derangement Syndrome that is gripping the left right now.
>> Yeah, look, Elon Musk is the world's first trillionaire, at least on paper.
That that is an astronomical amount of money, and with a lot of money comes a lot of haters, Rita. That is as a tale quite quite literally as as old as time, but it's unfortunately as someone perilous tale when it comes to some of the some of the some of the greatest sins of humanity. I mean I I as a as a religious man myself, Rita, I think about the 10 Commandments here. The The 10 Commandments is thou shalt not covet.
You're literally you're literally compelled, you're commanded to not covet your your neighbor's possessions, his wife, his donkey, his house, his wagon, his his crops, his yield, his bread, his table, his literally anything there. Now, if you want to look at someone who's had a lot of success, and you want to use that as a motivating factor, that's amazing actually. That's actually half the point of income disparity in the first place actually, is that you you you you want to have some ability to have a chip on your shoulder to try to improve your lot in life. You want to look at the person who's had a lot of money and say, "Man, I should be working harder to try to do that." You want You want to look at the guy who's got a hot [snorts] wife, who's got a lot of kids, and say, "Man, I want to go to the gym. I want to eat healthier. I want to get in shape. I want to ask that girl out." This is very standard stuff. But, hating someone because he has been successful, because he has created wealth, because he has done tremendous things for humanity, is something entirely else entirely. I was looking at that this op-ed this past week from the Globe and Mail, which is one of Canada's largest newspapers, but of a liberal rag if I if I may say. And they were they they published an op-ed basically saying, "Here's how and why you should hate Elon Musk for becoming the world's first trillionaire." But, it's not a healthy reaction. He has built companies that have expanded the frontiers of mankind. That is literally not an exaggeration. Tesla, SpaceX, these these are transformative companies that change the the relationship between how humans interact in this world that God created there. And I think Elon Musk has his shortcomings. He's Listen, he's had a lot of baby mamas, and so forth there. He's not He's not exactly a paragon of moral virtue in every way there. But, I I'm not here to judge that. What I what I am here to do as an American consumer is to appreciate that which he has done when it comes to innovation, that which he has done for the economy, that which he has done frankly to better the lot of mankind.
And that that is a much healthier reaction than those trying to tear him down solely for having a lot of money on paper.
>> Well, it's not just the extraordinary things he's done. It's the enormous wealth he has created for others. The number of jobs he's created, the amount of taxes he's paid. I think he's just made 4,000 new millionaires through SpaceX uh shares. So, I The hate it's irrational, but it is uh I'm telling you it is intense. Now, talking about intense, unhinged hate, we continue to see just horrid takes on the Carmelo Anthony case, including from people we'd hope would know better, including uh this academic, Dr. Stacey Patton, a Howard University journalism professor, who has somehow found a way to blame Austin Metcalfe's grieving father for the teen's murder. She wrote, "You stood in that courtroom and told a black teenager" the black teenager being Carmelo Anthony, who murdered Jeff's son, "You told a black teenager he failed his parents, himself, and society, but perhaps the harder truth is that you failed your son first."
The professor wrote this in a piece titled "Dear Dear Jeff Metcalfe, your son is dead because you failed to teach him that black boys have boundaries."
Josh Hacken won't even respond to something that is so vile, so unhinged, and frankly, so cruel.
>> So, honestly, Rita, the very first analogy that comes to mind upon listening to this outrageous take is kind of the old trope about about blaming the rape victim for wearing a short skirt. I mean, that's kind of the that that's kind of sort of similar, the very rough analogy that comes to mind here, but there's something actually a a lot more fundamental happening here as well, which is this is just the intersectional mentality. This is literally just the woke intersectional mind virus, whereby you have these two dueling classes of the oppressor class and the oppressed class, and as a structural, systematic matter, according to this uniquely toxic and pernicious worldview, if you are of the of by and for the oppressor class, you cannot do anything right. And simultaneously, if you are of by and for the oppressed class, you cannot do anything wrong, which is why you have Carmelo Anthony who stabbed Austin McCalf in the heart and twisted knife and quite literally sucked the life and soul out of this young boy. That is why he can do no wrong in the eyes of these woke intersectional professors. But this is the antithesis the antithesis frankly of what mankind actually is. We are all made in the image of God because we are all equal before our creator and we all have the same rights. These are these this is the exact same formulation that we in America are celebrating by the way in a few weeks on July 4th that we that we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal. This is this ultimately really is what my country the United States was founded upon. Is is this notion that that that all men are created equal there. So you basically have to have to pick one world view. You can pick the intersectional world view which we just got a very very very nasty nasty interpretation of in this outrageous quote you just gave us.
That's on the one hand. Or you actually have the founding vision of America.
This really is above all I would say America's great societal civilizational clash happening inside our borders. It's happening by the way in the very highest rungs of society. Look at the United States Supreme Court actually. Clarence Thomas and Ketanji Brown Jackson, the two black justices on the Supreme Court have exactly antithetical takes on this exact question. Clarence Thomas is of by and for the founding philosophy of this country, 1776 and so forth. Ketanji Brown Jackson is like Ibram X. Kendi.
She's a woke intersectionalist there. So these are mutually incompatible propositions.
One has to prevail and the other must be defeated. I know which side I'm on. If there's anything to be said about this however Professor Rita, I think we know which side that she's on too. She is just horrifically and gallingly wrong.
That's all.
>> Now the Knicks won the NBA finals and there were all sorts of celebrations, all sorts of destruction as well.
But I want to ask you about this online storm of abuse that was targeted at a young woman an unknowing young woman who happened to be sitting courtside alongside her friend at Taylor Swift.
They were having a fantastic time. Josh, explain the invective aimed at this girl. It was so harsh, so vicious, and so anti-Semitic. I I can't even read pretty much any of it out on this program.
What has happened to you?
How does a girl watching a game of basketball turn into thousands of messages of abuse?
>> So, first of all, Rita, let me just say that I'm a lifelong Knicks fan. I actually my mother actually on a personal note was actually was digging up some old images of me and my brother when we were, I don't know, 3 [snorts] and 5 years old there in their old Knicks jerseys there.
So, I mean, huge congratulations to the Knicks as their first championship in 53 years. I used to joke, Rita, that it was it was the great dream of the National Basketball Association that the Knicks would be a relevant franchise like the Los Angeles Lakers. The Knicks have just not been relevant for basically the entirety of the league's existence. They finally have come out on top there. It's a tremendous it's a tremendous tremendous story there, and a lot of credit goes to to Jalen Brunson and all the great players who had this extraordinary run. Having said that, what happened here with this fan in question was absolutely despicable. So, she is just a fan. She she she she is there. She's enjoying the game there. She looks pretty Jewish if we're being honest there. I can say that, right? I'm I'm I'm I'm a Jew. And and you're right. I mean, this was the recipient of of no shortage of outrage from from from anti-Semites.
And unfortunately, looking at at the guy who's in the in the mayor mansion there, who's living at Gracie Mansion there in New York City, Eric Adams, this is sort of stuff that there is now just a a culture that that is really bubbling to the surface there. So, anti-Semitic hate crimes in New York City have have have increased by an astronomical amount based on reported crimes on a year-over-year basis there. And now you got these these torrents of abuses that I don't think frankly would have happened back in the day when Rudy Giuliani or even Mike Bloomberg was mayor of New York City. So that's a very different era there. Anti-semitism increasingly is just is just blatantly out out in the open there.
And also just making fun of people for having a good time. Now, these tickets were very expensive. They are. I think that's part of what's happening here.
There's also a little bit of kind of envy and class warfare. Kind of this this anti-Elon Must thing happening there. They're saying, "Oh, she's a girl paying probably, you know, 5,000 bucks for that seat there." Who cares? Like literally who cares? If you are a big Knicks fan there and you want to spend money or if your friend Taylor Swift invites you to a game, who the heck cares? Just sit back, watch the basketball, and if you're like me, enjoy the Knicks first championship in 53 years. It's actually quite a great story. That's a much better story, frankly, than going off on some random fan for just being courtside near Taylor Swift.
>> Well, it just shows you how virulent anti-semitism has been normalized because they weren't attacking her because she's Israeli or she's perhaps a Zionist. I have no idea who she is, what her politics are, but it was all about the fact that her appearance appeared to be Jewish and that opened her up for just really horrid abuse in the eyes of those trolls online. $5,000, Josh, you are dreaming. Those tickets would be you could add probably two zeros easily onto that figure. They were going for crazy prices. Josh, you mentioned Zohran Mamdani and I've got good news for New Yorkers. Your communist mayor is pouring millions of your money into so-called gender-affirming care.
>> Y'all hear me all right? I'm Peppermint and I am so excited to be here for Mayor Mamdani's very first ever New York City Pride celebration as mayor.
>> [screaming] >> Happy Pride, everyone.
>> [cheering] >> As a first step, my administration has made a $15 million investment in gender-affirming care over the next 2 years.
>> Josh, it's always impressive because he does seem to walk that fine line between Islamism and communism, people who've got polar views on so many issues, and he seems to appease both sides of of his political support base.
>> Well, Rita, as as you know both know, this this whole notion of of the red-green alliance, this alliance of convenience between Marxists and Islamists is [snorts] not necessarily predicated on, shall we say, under under underlying ideologies or underlying principles. It's predicated rather on two things. One is that they share a lust and a zeal for power qua power. I mean, look at Gran Platin in Maine. Gran Platin is actually a very great example of this. So, Gran Platin is the dude who literally has a Totenkopf tattoo. That's the skull and bones tattoo. That was the symbol of the Nazi SS. The Nazis who literally ran the death camps all throughout the Holocaust, World War II.
So, he [snorts] he literally has a Nazi tattoo, but now he self-describes as a socialist, if not a communist. And the the intellectually serious person might say, "Nazism and communism? I'm pretty sure they were actually opposed. That's why the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany actually went to war. The Nazis were were opposed to the communists during the the Weimar era of Germany back in the '20s and the answer, Rita, is that it's not actually about Nazis or communists. It's just about power for the sake of power there. So, it's very similar to this notion of of the red-green alliance, but Zulfiqar Mirza is a is a unique figurehead there. So, someone who has ties to radical jihadis.
He has spoken in all sorts of jihad-overrun mosques, actually, in New York City. And he also, obviously, is very much a socialist and a communist, as well.
The The other thing is not just that they have a mutual love and thirst and zeal for power. They also have a mutual enemy. And the mutual enemy is the United States of America above all and Western civilization as a whole. They hate hate hate Western civilization.
They hate all that it stands for. They hate the biblical inheritance. They hate private property. They hate free markets. They hate nationalism, borders, rule of law, individual dignity, etc. etc. etc. Instead, they think like that stupid Harvard University professor that the unit discussed earlier in the segment, they think that that your lot in life is predetermined based on whether you are in some class of oppressor or oppressed there. It is a is a horrific horrific worldview there. The good news when it comes to this particular issue, the issue of transgenderism, is that George Soros and Donny can spend as much darn money as he wants to. He obviously should not spend a penny on it. But, he's not going to win because this is one issue that that we on the side of civilizational sanity are winning on and we are winning big time. George Soros and Donny is not going to ultimately be on the right side of that one just as he will not be on the right side of so many other issues as well.
>> Josh, hammer. Thank you so much for your time.
>> Thank you. Really appreciate it.
