[00:00:01]I'm really proud of the movement, the global movement that have embraced these ideas and have created, I mean, billions I can't even know how to count how much value has been created by companies wielding these tools. I've also been witness to the dark side of this business. So many companies lose their way. We have so utterly lost the plot.

[00:00:16]We actually have a hard time talking about what does it mean for a company to do the right thing? When Anthropic turned down their $200 million government contract, that was mega news, partly because it's just so rare to ever meet a company that can turn down any amount of money at all. Who does that?

[00:00:32]Who does that? It's so crazy. And even people who disagreed with them and say, "Well, they shouldn't have done it or they should have done something different." Most people I talked to say, "I even if I disagree with them, I have respect." You can say I'm not interested in governance, but governance is interested in you and it determines what happens to companies in a really profound way. You're listening to the Startup podcast.
