[01:38:11]That was his first and only moment. He took advantage of that moment when he said, "Lord, remember me." And Christ said, "Today thou shalt be with me in paradise." Tonight, there are many of you like that. This may be your last moment, your only moment to say yes to Christ. No matter what your sin, no matter how deep in sin you've been, God is in the forgiving business because of what Christ did on the cross. I'm not going to heaven because I'm good. I'm not going to heaven because I've preached to thousands of people. I'm going to heaven like anybody else by the way of the cross where Christ died for me. First, you say, "Well, a Christian is a person that goes to church." Yes, a Christian ought to go to church, but that doesn't make you a Christian. You can be baptized and you can do all of those things and you can be called Christian, but I'm talking about a real genuine personal relationship with Christ. Do you have that?

That quick. People say, "Well, you can't come to Christ that quick and have your life changed like that." You sure certainly can. Paul and Silas were in prison. They were singing and they were witnessing.

[01:39:39]And the jailer was listening. And the prison walls fell down in an earthquake.

[01:39:44]And it looked like the prisoners were escaping. And the jailer drew his sword.

[01:39:48]He was going to kill himself because he knew the Roman authorities would kill him the next day for letting the prisoners escape. And Paul said, "Wait a minute. We haven't fled. We're still here." And the man fell down in terror.

[01:39:59]And he said, "What must I do to be saved?" And you know what the average person would say to him? Well, you're in no emotional state to be saved. Wait till you calm down. Think about it. Paul said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house."

[01:40:16]Who is going to control you? Or are you going to control your own life and make a record of it? Thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead. Thou shalt be saved. By nature, we want to run our own lives. We think we know better than even God knows. But God has a plan for your life. And his plan is perfect. For every young person here, God has a plan. He has the right person picked out for you to marry if you'd only trust him to help you. He has the right Oh, what if what if you're [ __ ] all the girls without condoms and then all suddenly you get that one girl pregnant and uh is that the right girl that God chose for you?

[01:42:31]But God can forgive all that and he can take all that mess that you've made in your life and straighten it all out and get you back on the right road if you'll trust him. Don't let the devil worry you about past sins once you've been to the cross.

[01:42:46]He said a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Are you unstable about your relationship to Christ? Do you waver in your relationship to Christ? Or are you totally committed to Christ as savior and lord? Or do you waver about it? Many of you waver by the way you live. And Jesus warned the hypocrites.

[01:43:07]People who pretend one thing and live another. This was his great battle with the hypocrites in the church. We have old proverbs that are familiar to us all. He who hesitates is lost.

[01:43:19]Procrastination is the thief of time. A stitch in time saves nine. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Don't waver. Make a decision. Do it now.

[01:43:30]That's what Joshua was saying. And Joshua, the great military hero that had led them from victory to victory, reminded them of all the victories that God had given. First, you have to be willing to repent of your sin. You say, "Well, what does that mean?" That means to change your way of living, to change your thinking about Christ and about God and about yourself. It means to live a new kind of a life. It means that you're willing to give up some of those wrong things in your life and walk with him.

[01:44:00]That's repentance. And Jesus said, "Except the man repent, he can't see the kingdom of God." Have you repented? Are you sure of it? Did that change take place? I'm not talking about did you say, "Oh Lord, I'm sorry." That's not repentance.
