Understanding Odoo Accounting interface
Added:All right, hello, welcome. Welcome back to our training on using Odoo ERP, specifically the finance and accounting modules or functions.
Okay. So, like I told you, anytime you log in to your page, your Odoo, this is the home page. So, you have this course, you have calendar, appointment, to do, so knowledge dashboard. So, of course, let's start from accounting, which is our what? Our major work, where our major area is because we're going to work more with this accounting module.
They have so sure you want to know what other things. So, anytime you log in to your account, so let me give you the basic interface of how this looks and how it works before we start getting into more details. So, this is our dashboard. Anytime you log in, this is the first thing you will see. So, you can see our sales. It's going to show like a graph of our sales, purchases. Because we have not done anything, it's there. It can also give us a report on our tax returns. Now, for this dashboard, you can actually edit it. You can remove some things and also what? Add other things if you want to what? If you want to do that. So, if I want to remove, I can remove this and I can add other things, too. But, we'll still get to that. Then, you can also change the way you want it to look. You can change adjust some of the theme and all those other things. Okay. So, that's that. So, but you can leave Let's leave that alone for now. So, this is our basic dashboard. I'll still show you how you can adjust your dashboard.
And the dashboard is good because for each person, what you want to see might be different. If I'm more into payables, if I log in into my Odoo, then that means I want to see information about payables. I can structure my dashboard to see information relating to that. For probably a CFO or finance manager, he might want to see a whole picture of okay, so what's our profitability?
What's our cash flow like? How's our assets? So, depending on what each user actually wants to do, you can design your dashboard to fit that. Dashboard is very good as well that once you log in, you can have overview of what is going on in your what? In your books. Okay.
So, that's for accounts. So, that's a dashboard. So, this dashboard. So, just to click and show you that this is our dashboard. Next, we have our what? Our customers like module. Okay?
>> All right.
>> Under this customers module, you can do invoice, you can do your credit notes.
You can pay your customer You can do payments when the customer has paid. You want to recognize You can do it there.
You have your products there and then you have your what? Your customers there. So, you can add products to that yourself. You can also do customers. You can do also import. I'll show you how you do that, too, when we get to that side. Then we have our vendors. Under that vendors, we have our bills, refunds, payments, employee expenses, products, and what? And vendors. Okay?
So, this has to do with our payables.
So, you have all those. Then you have your accounting, which is, you know, what we work on. So, if you want to do journal entries, too. You want to do some adjustment, you can do it. Then, of course, you have your asset and liability. So, we can do our assets. I will still We'll still explore these things as we move on.
We also have loans. Then you can reconcile. You can do your tax returns.
You can also lock some dates. That means, let's say, for example, we have finished up with entries for last year, and I don't want anybody to adjust. I can lock down that so that nobody can post anything there. You understand?
Just to ensure that what you have back end is good. Okay? Then review, of course. You can do your journal items.
You can do your journal audit. Check what journal has come in. Then audit working paper is the annual report is there. Inventory. Uh then you have your depreciation schedule. You can do your loans analysis. Deferred revenue, deferred expenses, and then audit trails. Audit trail in the sense that you want to see everything that has gone on. Who has done what at that particular time. Then under the reporting, you have different reports, a lot of reports that you can generate. You have your balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, trial balance, general ledger. So, any Any time you want to view something, view a report, this is where we come and do that. Then configuration is where we do our settings. We adjust a lot of settings. Like you want to do your chart of account, you can adjust your taxes, come up with your tax rate, withholding tax, VAT, and all those things. Then you can do your journals here, too. You know, we saw journals in accounting, can also have it here. Currencies, if you want to do multi-currency or just one single currency, you can adjust that here. They have what? Fiscal position, multi-ledger, checks, depreciation mode, whether it's straight line, reducing balance, return type, invoicing, and all you can do all these things in your what? In your settings. So, that's basically then this search button is like a way of fast tracking. So, let's say I want to just do invoice. So, I just search for what? Invoice, okay?
So, all right. So, it's it's just take me to invoice, okay? So, I can do that. So, I can use the search button. Let's say I want to do journals.
So, I can do that. But, the more you navigate the software, the more you you can find your way. I don't have to use the search button. The more you know where everything actually is. So, then that's So, that's the basic way the software looks like, okay? Or the dashboard of the accounting part of the module looks like, okay? All right. Thank you. So, then, we'll now start looking at it one by one. Start working with create product, we do our settings, we do journals, we do sales, we do we we work on reports. We are going to be as comprehensive as possible. All right. Thank you.
