Rising shipping costs significantly impact small e-commerce sellers by reducing profit margins and making it harder to compete with larger retailers, forcing sellers to bundle items, sell higher-priced goods, or absorb costs to maintain business viability.

Packing eBay Orders and Talking Rising Shipping Costs本站添加:
Hello everyone. Welcome back to I'm going to pack it. I'm Lonnie.
>> Hey, I'm Candace. Welcome back.
I don't know why I said it like that.
>> Friday, Friday. Remember that song?
>> gosh. Was that Sarah that liked that song?
>> No, I don't think Sarah liked it.
>> just teased her with it.
>> No. No, no, you know what it was? You know You know how we know about that song? Or at least me.
That's Rebecca Black, by the way.
>> Yeah.
>> Um I think whose parents paid some production company >> to do this video >> the video.
>> Yeah.
>> And then it got popular >> because it was horrible.
>> because it was cringe.
>> Yeah.
>> However, it is there's something slightly catchy about it, too.
>> And she probably made a lot of money off of it.
>> Uh I saw I saw she did some a video years later.
And even that was long ago.
But it like there were a lot of negative effects, too, you know?
Because because she was like >> fun of you.
>> Right.
>> Yeah.
>> She was a teenager and people the whole world was basically making fun of her.
>> of her, yeah.
>> So, but I mean >> So, is there >> You put yourself in position >> Her parents >> put her in position for that.
>> did that, you know. A teenager, they're going to they're going to be like, "Yeah, I'm going to make a music video.
>> I think my stuff is good.
>> Of course.
>> Her parents maybe her parents thought all of it was good.
Maybe they really believed in her.
>> Friday, Friday.
It was pretty bad.
>> Yeah. It was. And then remember SpongeBob did a parody? Was it SpongeBob?
>> No, that's what I was going to tell you.
We didn't even know about the original video. We knew about her video because we used to watch Annoying Orange.
>> That's what it was. Annoying Orange made a parody about it.
>> We We would make We We would watch uh Sarah and I would watch um >> Well wait what was his version of it?
I'm trying to remember.
>> It was it was the same it was >> No he changes he changed the words.
>> Well yeah he does.
>> Yeah.
Yeah she would hers was about the month day of the week Friday he made it about French French fries.
>> f r y day >> f r y day >> Oh my god.
Was that was that Sarah that we used to watch?
>> Yeah.
>> She would watch it with me right?
>> Yeah.
>> Sarah and I would Sarah and I would sit there forever every day we we would watch the Annoying Orange videos together.
>> Yeah they were funny.
>> Oh man where are they?
You're an apple.
Remember that?
>> Yeah.
>> Some reason apples were bad.
>> I know.
>> [laughter] >> Bad apple you get it?
>> Oh no yeah I never really put that together honestly.
All right dot five eight hmm.
Hmm.
Let me see what I can do to you dot five eight-er.
I don't know that might be a that might be a little too far to go. Let me try let me see what I can do. I can cut these off.
See what we looking like now.
>> Yeah.
>> Who dot five two? Let me see.
>> Cut some more.
>> I can.
You're an apple knife.
Remember they would always say knife?
Knife.
I got down to dot five.
Let's see I I need to get a little just a little more.
And and I think I think I have plenty of room to where I don't I don't feel like All right we're there.
>> Well if eBay has their way you won't have to do that in the future.
>> Yeah, we we we need to look. We haven't recorded that section.
>> eBay's changing their terms of service for shipping and it looks like they're kind of maybe going the Mercari route, uh you know, >> [snorts] >> where the shipping label is just there and you don't you [snorts] don't type it in and change it. Yeah.
>> Speculation. We don't >> It's kind of vague.
>> Kind of vague.
>> Okay, this is a >> Look, we we got dot five, Candace. 8 oz.
>> magnet that we need to sign.
>> Okay.
>> Next thing going out.
>> You saw we we hit dot five and stayed on it.
>> Yep.
>> Sweet.
>> So, this is number 219 on the stack.
>> For Lori, huh?
>> Yep.
>> All right, number 219.
Candace, we only have six more on the door.
>> I know.
>> What's today's date?
>> The 29th. The month is almost over.
>> 5 29 26.
Lani and uh >> I did a BYOM.
>> You notice one brand of white filament bleeds and the other one doesn't?
>> Yeah, I know.
>> That's what it is. It's one of the brands.
I mean, it's not a big deal. One of them's glossy and one of them's matte, I think.
>> So, is it the matte one that bleeds?
>> I think so.
Cuz it just kind of soaks the the ink in a little more.
>> Mhm.
>> It's not bad.
>> [snorts] >> This one did not bleed. The last one we did did.
All right.
I'm going to pack this in anyway.
Um 864, I think it'll do it.
Maybe.
Actually, I think I'm going to do a 866.
Yeah.
You know, after the Annoying Orange version of Friday came out, I still didn't I did not see the original for months.
>> You didn't know that that's what it was off of?
>> No.
I didn't really I didn't know it was a parody.
>> Yeah.
I love >> Annoying Orange did it better.
>> I remember a song Sarah used to play all the time. Blue? Is it Is it the name of it?
>> Oh, yeah.
I'm blue, da ba dee, da ba da.
>> She would play that on repeat. Oh my gosh.
Talk about driving you mad.
>> She also used to play um Plain White T's. Remember that band?
>> Yeah.
>> Remember them? What was that song she would play by them?
She played those two songs on repeat.
>> Oh, man.
>> Plain White T's. Oh, what you do to me. Delilah? Is that Is that what they sing?
>> Yeah. She I think that's the song. No, that's not the song she >> Yeah, it is.
>> Hey there Delilah, yeah. That is the song she would play.
>> Yeah, like I remember Sarah would load up Sarah get in front of the computer I think this might have even been back when we still had big monitors.
>> Yeah.
>> She would get in front of the computer, she would open up uh she was a she was a Microsoft Paint wizard.
>> And she would sit in front of there and she would start drawing her stuff on Microsoft Paint.
>> Yep.
>> And play her blue her blue song.
>> She was uh she was in the Warrior Cats, so she would do a lot of Warrior Cats inspired >> She Her Her artwork on on Microsoft Paint was just amazing.
>> And then she would do her the speed paint videos.
>> Yeah.
>> Yep.
>> You know, she could she could have really done something with that if she would have stuck with it.
>> Molly, too. Molly was the same.
They were >> Molly still does a lot of drawing. You just don't know. Like if you look through her schoolwork, every page has a little drawing on it.
She likes to draw horses and cats.
>> And she's she's really good, too. If either one Although now it's like is What is art? Like >> Yeah.
And it's weird cuz as much as she likes to draw, I could not convince her to take art classes in school.
>> Yeah.
>> When it came up to elective, she always wanted to take carpentry instead of art.
>> Honestly, the way things are going in that field, man, that's tough, huh?
>> Yeah.
>> People like graphic design >> Yep.
>> Nobody You know how many You know how many people are not getting are not making money now?
>> Carpentry's a good thing to know, so >> Huh?
>> Carpentry.
That's what I said, she took carpentry instead of art.
>> Yeah, but she didn't really get into it that much.
>> I think so. She wanted to take the second semester. Maybe cuz it was easy.
>> I think because it was easy. I've never seen her come home.
She's never been [snorts] like, "Hey, let's fire up the saw."
I think she had some friends Some Some of her friends took it, too, and that's why she wanted to do it.
>> Yeah, and then like they would they split them up in the groups for their projects.
And um we I play cards, Shanghai Rummy, once a month with a a of ladies, and she came one night, and my mom let her sit in for her, and she taught her how to play.
And she went to school, and when her carpentry class would finish their projects, >> They played?
>> she taught them how to play Shanghai rummy.
>> Were they Were they playing for money?
Please tell me. Okay.
>> did ask her that.
>> Oh my god. Bringing a gambling ring to school.
>> Right.
>> [snorts] >> What you She brought the old lady game up there, huh?
>> [laughter] >> But she was probably all jazzed cuz she won.
>> She Yeah, she won that night. Like, you know, beginner's luck.
It's a lot of that game. It It's some strategy, but it's a lot of luck.
>> All right. This basically This This This is so tight, or it's going to be so tight, it's basically a wrap.
Um what do [snorts] I want to do? Maybe I'll put You know what? I'll put a little cardboard in there, I think.
I feel like I need to do a little something.
I think I I feel like bubble wrap is just going to be dumb. Then not do anything.
I'll put a little extra cardboard in there.
Now, I'll just wrap it or something. I don't know. I don't know what I'm doing here. Let's see.
Last I looked, Annoying Orange was still publishing.
>> Oh, really?
>> Not getting [snorts] hardly any views anymore, though.
I Last I looked, maybe that changed.
Maybe >> I'm going to look real quick.
>> Annoying Orange was good. I I felt like it was an all ages kind of thing.
We enjoyed it.
>> They're doing about one video a week.
Oh, I mean, they're getting not near what they were.
>> What what are they getting?
>> Anywhere from 60 to 100,000 views.
>> Yeah, that's nothing. They used to get They used to get easy million plus every time.
>> But the most I see is close to 300,000.
>> Yeah.
Yeah, internet's just changed.
>> Yeah.
Our kids haven't discovered it yet.
>> It's just changed.
That's a shame cuz that was some high quality stuff.
>> Kind of.
>> Huh?
>> Kind of.
>> Well, when it was when it came out, it were kind of was.
>> Yeah.
>> For a YouTube video, it was very hot.
Like, "Oh, wow, how do they make an orange talk? That's amazing."
>> an old like this. It looks like they've not like updated how they do it. It's still got the same old >> [snorts] >> there.
>> Yeah, that would make it even worse if it if they made it all >> AI or something.
>> Right.
At this point there, they probably need to use AI to make it worthwhile.
>> [snorts] >> Maybe they their merch sales and stuff like the other stuff, affiliates, and other ways of making money are still worthwhile there.
>> get Sarah a t-shirt for Christmas. Her birthday's coming up.
>> I'll get her one annoying orange t-shirt. Oh, that Oh.
Wow, you know what? That would be like throwback retro kind of, you know, like ironic.
>> Right.
>> Okay, you got a 15 What is this? 15 11 7.
I did not resize it. Yeah, see it's pretty heavy.
>> 13 oz.
>> I guess I can just use a shoe box for this, huh?
Grand Advantage shoe box?
>> Yeah.
Yeah, for sure.
>> All right.
Don't let me mix you up.
>> [snorts] >> You're good.
>> I saw on the reseller reseller water cooler this morning somebody mixed up um a $60 package >> Mhm.
>> I think and an $8 package.
>> Yikes.
>> And they said the $60 package person that received the 60 is uh non-responsive.
>> Of course.
>> Well, you say of course. I I I still I refuse to assume everybody is bad cuz they're not, but yeah.
That sucks, huh?
>> Well, it's never the person that had the lower price item that doesn't respond.
>> I don't know.
I I I don't I don't know. I I haven't We haven't had it happen enough to, thank goodness, to really know that.
>> Yeah.
>> Most people Well, here's the problem is that not only is it do they have to agree to send it back or send it on or whatever, but then also they have you're asking them to do work for you after you made a mistake.
>> Right.
Like not just Best case scenario is if they don't open and do return to sender, but most people are going to open it.
>> Of course.
I don't even know how much recourse you have as a seller.
You know?
>> Probably not, I would imagine.
>> Can you imagine if we did I know, that's but I I don't know that.
But Can you imagine if we did that with like a $500 item?
>> Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
>> So, and we have a expensive item going out today, so let's be real careful.
>> talking like that.
>> Well, no, I We need to make sure we don't ship it to the wrong person.
Oh my god, that would be a that would be a nightmare.
>> You know what?
>> What?
>> Look at the ad Come look at the address where this hat's going.
>> All right.
>> It's a Port of Baton Rouge hat, it's going to Baton Rouge, but where these people live is a very well-to-do.
>> Oh.
>> And I And they sent an offer. I'm not saying that I mean I just think What?
>> What?
>> I think it's funny.
>> Well, no, they're going to Like, it's cool hat, though.
>> Yep.
>> They're going to Oh, you mean that based on that address, I would say they're going to wear it ironically.
>> Right. That That's kind of Yeah.
>> Yeah, I understand.
Yeah, you're right.
Or they might They might be a a captain.
>> yeah, that's true. Captains [snorts] make a lot of money.
>> A lot of those people make a lot of money.
>> Not that kind of money.
>> What? At the port?
>> Or where that house >> Some of those Some of those are um A lot of the There's a lot of union jobs and stuff out there, Candace.
>> Okay.
>> There might actually There There's some of those people making real money out there on that at that port.
I was watching um I was actually watching a YouTube video a guy that's in the Merchant Marine or something and those are union jobs.
And they make great money.
>> Why are they called marine? Cuz cuz of water marine not not the military?
>> Yeah, I think yeah.
I think the word marine preceded military, I guess.
It's like marine biology.
>> Right, right.
Oh, I always thought Merchant Marine was affiliated with the military.
>> Or maybe it was Seafarers Union or something. I don't know, but he broke down how much he got paid and it was a lot.
>> And what what was his job?
>> He was like a he was pretty much one step above entry-level.
>> Mhm.
>> I think you his job was like able-bodied his his title with the union able-bodied seaman.
That was that was what he that that's what he was rated as or whatever.
>> What is a non-able-bodied? What >> Well, it's some other apprentice type thing or something.
>> Able-bodied.
>> He he had he had like gotten up to that point.
>> Mhm.
>> Hey um what are the Once you get that one done, what are the dimensions that we had on this?
>> 18 10 12.
>> Okay, so we were planning on this being big.
>> Yeah.
>> All right.
18 10 12.
Where's my I'm exactly this is I'm exactly sure what I'm doing here.
Okay, that's 17.
Okay.
I I I just All right.
I think I'm just going to do a uh I think I'm just going to do a 16 12 10 here.
You said we allowed 18 12 10, huh?
>> Yep.
>> Check this again.
Yeah.
Oh.
Yeah, this is it.
>> 17 13 11 is our dimension?
>> Yeah, that's not going to change it, huh? Look at If you look at the prices, is that going to change it if you change it to that? I don't That's not the going to be the weight cuz it don't have the box on it.
>> No, I understand. We have 5 lbs in there.
Um about a little bit, but I'm going to put it in the >> Same price?
>> No, it's It raised it a little bit. I'm going to put it >> Did it?
>> I'm going to put it I'm going to put it in pirate ship and see what UPS gives us.
>> What did we have it at before?
>> 18 [snorts] Shoot, I don't remember.
>> You said You told me 18 12 10.
That's not what it was or it was.
>> Let me go back.
>> [snorts] >> I guess we are increasing to the >> 18 10 12. Does that matter if it's the 12 or >> no, it doesn't. no, no.
>> I mean, I can take a little off here.
Probably be best if I didn't.
Okay, it's less than a dollar. Less than a dollar difference. That's fine. I don't care about that. I'm just going to leave this alone.
Where was >> That's why UPS is not better. It's going to I don't know, right?
Oh, no. In New Jersey, that's usually pretty high. Yeah.
>> Everywhere is high.
>> True.
>> Everywhere sucks.
>> YEAH.
>> SHIPPING PRICES ARE JUST IT'S REALLY DISGUSTING.
>> thing that's like couple dollars cheaper is ground saver, but I don't want to ship a $400 ground saver.
I don't want to go on through a BUNCH OF HANDS.
>> POSTAGE SUCKS, MAN. LIKE IT'S like It's really gross. I'm I've always been used to like prices going up on postage every year.
But lately it's been so fast and so much. It's just makes you it makes me nauseous thinking about it.
Not because we pay it either. It's because our our it >> sales ultimately.
>> It hurts our business.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't I mean, I don't really care what postage costs. Like we pass it on to the customer, but it makes it the customer less likely to buy. And then when they do buy, it's not like we get benefited by higher postage.
>> Right.
>> And a a lot of a lot of customers probably think we do. Oh, they're charging high postage. And it's like Y'all, postage is so bad. Whenever I look at the whenever I'm editing videos at night and I'm looking at the cuz I don't really see the postage until I edit videos and then I put the drop the thumbnails in and it says you know, $38 $37.99 plus $13.67 shipping. I'm like, what?
>> I know.
>> For that?
>> Yeah.
I mean, this this is costing $20.
>> Yeah. $20 used to be >> 5-lb package.
>> It is a little oversized. I'm This one is not really that surprising. But we've had there's been other packages that have been like, that's going where and it costs what?
>> Yeah.
Yeah.
>> Like, that's all the more reason to try and get into more expensive items.
>> Mhm.
>> And to bundle stuff as much as possible because >> Yeah.
>> that's that's a way that you can help defray the cost.
>> Right.
>> Okay, I think I'm just going to bubble bubble mail this.
>> Yeah.
>> That way we're not spending anything on the packing materials.
You know what? I will put a bubble wrap on there.
That's the way I look at it. The only way we can kind of help out with the shipping is to uh is to do those two things. Lot things up when it makes sense and sell more expensive stuff because the more expensive stuff people people are buying that, they're probably not as sensitive to the shipping cost.
>> Yeah.
>> But it just stinks, man.
I'm not even wanting to complain about shipping, usually, but it's it's gotten to a point now where it's >> It's It's out of hand.
>> It's affecting business.
>> Yep.
>> And nobody seems like nobody that could change anything seems to care.
And you know what? It's still not enough money.
>> I like whenever like postage goes up for a fuel surcharge, but it doesn't go down when the fuel goes down. It just stays up.
>> Oh gosh, I hate getting negative on these videos, but man It's like every It's like a constant squeeze of everything everywhere all the time lately. You know, from every angle.
>> Yep.
>> People are getting squeezed.
You know what? I'm going to use a comic mailer on this.
And it's been like that It's been like that for a long time.
So, at least a couple years now.
Yeah, we started talking about the eBay thing, and we don't even we're not even sure what cuz eBay's communication is so horrible.
>> Yeah.
And they basically released new terms of service and say, "If you don't agree with it, close out your account before it's before it becomes an effect.
>> And there's no other communication.
>> Right.
>> Yeah, there probably will be.
>> Hopefully they come out and clarify.
>> Why don't they Why don't they get on board Why don't Why don't their PR team or whatever get on the same page as the legal team?
>> I know.
>> So like the legal team drops these new terms of service.
>> big deal changes, you know?
>> Yeah, so the thing we're talking about it Go read the terms of service for yourself because we're definitely not experts on this. We don't And eBay has not given any guidance yet to clarify anything.
>> Right.
>> But basically they're saying in some cases um the shipping will be with the Basically it sounds like the shipping is going to be like predetermined for some items.
>> [snorts] >> Yeah.
>> Meaning that you you don't choose what to charge or what service.
>> Right.
>> You it it which is basically if y'all sell on um platforms like Poshmark or or even Mercari, they offer like you have on Mercari you have some options.
>> [snorts] >> Mhm.
>> But if you once you choose that option once it once it sells, it's not like >> change like if you chose UPS whenever you listed it and then you when you go to ship you're like, "Oh, I want to do this ground advantage."
>> Can't do it cuz you print the label. They like they You don't buy the label, they just supply the label to you.
>> Right.
>> And based on what we read in eBay's terms of service, it definitely sounds like that >> That may be what's going on.
>> That's probably what it's going to be.
>> Yeah.
>> And I don't know about you, Candace, but that doesn't really sound that horrible to me. I don't know.
>> Long as they negotiate good rates.
Here's the other thing.
>> I'm trying to make a decision here.
Let's see.
>> What's going to happen with the fees on shipping? Are they going to do away with that since no one will be able to do free shipping anymore?
>> Because that that's the thing that we don't know.
>> Yeah.
>> That's the thing.
Because We're going to talk You know what? We're going to talk about it more in the Shed Flats video. Let's Let's keep it there cuz I don't want to >> Yeah, if you watched it before this video, you'll see us talk about it. If not, go back and watch it if you're interested.
>> Yeah, we're going to I don't I don't want to Cuz if I start talking about it here, I'm going to forget everything I said and >> Right. Yeah.
>> Honestly, I don't want to get that deep into it here anyways.
>> Right.
>> What What kind of size did we do on this? Cuz I'm looking at this. I don't like this.
>> 15 13 13 >> 15 13 13 So, I was planning on doing this.
>> Like a stack?
>> Thing is, I don't need 13 on that one dimension. I might You know what? I think I'm still going to stack.
But I'm going to move a little bit. I'm going to I'm going to change things up a tad here.
Cuz I've got a little too much dimension on one side and not not enough on the other. So, I'm going to fix that.
Yeah, you can sit down. It's going to be a minute.
>> up a stool and watch.
>> [snorts] [clears throat] >> You want to switch jobs for a second?
>> Nope. I'm good.
>> I'm good, bro.
>> So, today's Friday. We did not go to sales, but we're going tomorrow. We haven't been to garage sales in what? 2 weeks?
>> Yeah, which is >> to one last week. Just a random one, but yeah, we haven't been out in probably three three weeks. So, >> Yeah, we're going to go out tomorrow.
It'll be fun.
>> We've had a lot of rain here for one thing.
>> Yeah, last week Last week we decided not to go, but also we couldn't have gone anyway.
>> Yeah.
>> Or if we did, it wouldn't have been much to it.
>> Right.
>> But we did You know what, Candace? Well, our it worked. Like the reason we Like one of the reason we haven't been actively going out is cuz we had so much stuff.
>> Trying to catch up a little bit on our unlisted inventory.
>> And we did.
>> Yep.
>> Not saying it's gone.
>> No, of course not. That will never happen.
>> No. [laughter] But But man, we made a lot of headway.
>> Mhm.
>> We did.
>> We got a lot of movie reels listed and a lot of the new newer inventory that came in.
Hopefully we'll finish that stuff off today, the other inventory we brought in.
We still have some in the um We might have some in the back of the truck. Christmas ornaments, there's a small globe, some of that random stuff.
>> forgot about the Christmas ornaments.
Yeah. Okay, cool. Yeah.
I think those might actually be pretty good.
>> I hope so. It's all Disney.
>> You want to knock those out today?
>> Yeah, I do. I want to There's a couple things left up here.
>> Okay.
Oh, you know what You know what I want to >> We have some magic stuff to finish up.
>> You know what I want to list?
Um I'm going to make I have Here's my goal for listing today.
We have a um the Seiko world time thing or whatever.
>> Oh, the watch the wrist watch?
>> Yeah, it's going to be parts only.
>> Mhm.
>> I want to get that sucker up.
>> Yeah.
>> That'll be What was that?
>> Like $200.
>> Is it going to be Okay, yeah.
>> Something like that, yeah.
>> I think that'll be a good We have a lot of days we like to get like a >> One big item up.
>> a heavy hitter up.
>> Yeah.
>> And then because then you give yourself the opportunity with one That's the way I look at it.
You list a heavy hitter every day or try to, then you give yourself an opportunity to have a heavy hitter sale every day.
>> This thing was listed 2 days ago, sold for 450. We listed a $400 item yesterday. It's going to sell today.
>> You just You just jinxed it.
But yeah, I like that was nice. Wake up this morning, sell this for 450. We start today having a good sales day.
>> Yep.
>> And it's, you know, that's pretty nice.
Is this the last thing?
>> No, we have That salt and pepper shaker is for Marshall's Mart.
>> So, what I was planning on doing the double stack, which I'm still going to do, but it was going to be a little tighter than I >> [snorts] >> I wanted it to be on one on the side.
>> Yeah.
>> So, like on the length of it.
>> Right.
This gives it a good cushion all around.
>> This will be much Yeah, this this gives it room all the way around. Exactly.
>> Our daughter has got sent off on a trip this morning.
>> Yep, she did She left.
>> Yeah, she's going overseas to the UK?
>> I don't know. You tell me. That's >> know. I'm I'm She's going to the UK, flying into London, and then she's going on to Scotland, and then to Norway, and then to Iceland.
>> And who all's going? Your brother, your mom?
>> my brother and her.
>> That's it? Just the three of them?
>> Mhm.
>> Okay. Well, your brother's got a tall task. He's got a >> Yep.
>> He's got a red herd on the He's in charge.
You know he's going to be a little bit uh That's a little stressful.
>> Yeah.
My mom's a seasoned traveler, so is Molly. They're good.
>> I know. I'm not saying there's I'm not saying he should be. I'm just saying it's like >> You will have to remain diligent having two two females with you.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> Iceland is big on my bucket list.
I'm glad she's getting to go.
>> Did talk to her yesterday as a matter of fact.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Molly's Molly when Molly gets back, she's going to be an employee.
>> We're going to start training her.
>> She's going to work >> to help with the listings.
>> I said uh We're probably going to be we haven't finalized anything, but I but I'll just tell y'all uh what we're kind of thinking about.
>> [clears throat] >> Cuz I think she's going to do a heck of a job for us.
>> And it's going to be perfect for her cuz she can kind of work at her own pace and on the days she can, you know, because ma'am, being in marching band and and band in school, she doesn't have a good schedule for having a regular job. So, she hasn't had the opportunity to get a regular job.
>> And she's never expressed in the past wanting to work, but I think but I I think she wants money now.
>> Yeah.
>> So, I talked to her yesterday. I said, "Look, if you want a job, so we got one for you."
And obviously obviously every you know, we would work we would work around any of her school stuff, obviously.
>> Yeah. I would love if she would start going sourcing with us and learning that aspect of it, too.
>> If she wants to.
>> Yeah.
>> That's that's not that's >> Cuz that would be a great part-time gig for her while she's in college, you know?
>> Well, so what we worked out so far, and we're not I don't know people are going to want to know, right?
>> Yep.
>> Well, um we're planning on paying her $15 an hour.
>> Well, he asked her, "What What kind of money do your friends make at >> had like Yeah, cuz she's got friends that have jobs.
She said uh 15 an hour, and we're talking about like food, you know, food jobs and stuff like that.
>> or or the little local grocery store, yeah.
>> Stuff like that. And I said, I said, "What do you think if Would you What do you think if we gave you a job making 15 an hour?"
And we'll try and make it something that you enjoy.
And you can do it easy.
And, you know, we can definitely work out, obviously, schedule that works for you. She was excited, so I We had talked about it before with her, and she had no interest.
>> Yeah.
>> But things change, so >> Yeah, she's She's at She's at the age where she wants to start buying Yeah.
>> So, which is good.
>> And she's so polite and so nice. She won't just She won't ask me for money unless she needs it for something, you know? Like, she won't be like, "Hey, Mom, can I just have some spending money, you know?"
>> She tries She tries to uh She tries not to ask for money.
>> Right.
And so, I don't I want to take that out of the equation where she has money and doesn't have to ask.
>> I think it's going to be um I think it's going to be a W for both of us.
>> Mhm.
>> I think it's going to be good for her.
And if she does a great job, we'll pay her more. But >> Yep.
>> I I think it's going to be good for her, and I think we can make it work for us, too.
>> Yeah, I'm really hopeful that it'll increase our listing output.
>> Or whatever it is we get her to do. It's going to Whatever like it'll I really feel like it's going to make us more um Heck, even if if it's a break-even situation, that's fine, too, for me.
>> You know, if she if she does the amount All All I want her to do is to do work that results in $15 an hour >> or more >> or more of productivity.
And what it'll probably be is, you know, it she I imagine she'll probably end up working about Man, this is this sucks cuz I don't have any push against it.
It'll probably be a thing where she works on average probably about 10 hours a week or something.
>> Yeah.
>> You know, makes her a little $150.
>> Right.
>> Maybe more this summer. I'm hoping more this summer. I'm hoping she'll I'd like I'd like I'd like to see her do about 20 hours a week this summer.
>> Yeah.
>> That'd be what? $300. That'd actually be decent decent little spending money for her.
>> Mhm.
>> $300 a week.
>> If we can get her like where she's, you know, taking photos and getting listings ready and stuff like during auction season and stuff, she's probably going to want to work on the weekends.
You know.
>> That's fine.
>> Which would be great because she could come in here and work and then she it's not three of us trying to work in here at the same time, you know.
>> Well, we could also set we we could set up the office as a uh [snorts] >> her work station >> secondary work space as well.
You know.
>> Mhm.
>> Like we can we can set up a little photo spot and >> Yeah.
>> computer and all that in there.
She can work comfortably work without us all tripping on each other.
>> This is back corner jamming you.
>> Okay.
I'm definitely not cutting corners on this pack, y'all.
>> No.
>> This is where we made a bunch of money.
We need to lock it in and get it there.
>> Yep.
>> Whoever thought you could sell something like this for this kind of money?
>> I know.
>> I wouldn't have guessed that.
>> It's crazy, huh?
>> It makes me wonder now because when we bought all the magic books, was that last year?
>> Yep. I know. I was thinking about >> a bunch of They had also in that room there was a ton of like >> It was a whole room dedicated to magic.
>> magic tricks and stuff like that and there was still a lot of stuff left in there.
>> Yep.
>> And it was [snorts] hard to find.
We should have bought the room.
>> Yeah. Make an offer for the whole room.
>> But I we didn't know.
I was doing the best I it was already kind of frantic. There were a lot of people in the house.
>> Yep. [snorts] >> And I was just like I was so focused on that bookshelf cuz I looked up some books and saw they were good money and like I was just getting what I could. It was a box-out situation as well cuz people were people were trying to, you know, pick over and around other people and >> wanted to buy the whole shelf.
>> And it was Yeah, it was a it was one of those kind of things, man. It was a Oh, I remember I was really freak kind of freaking out because you were in another part of the house and I was stuck >> You couldn't go get the >> I couldn't move.
>> Right. The state sale >> And I was like texting you. I was like, "Get in here."
And you were goofing off some I don't remember what you were doing. [snorts] You were somewhere.
>> goofing off. I was upstairs.
>> No, you were looking.
>> It was two stories. I was upstairs.
>> I remember this I remember the room I was in.
It was the magic room.
>> It was cool. It had a one of those um it was a hidden room with a bookcase opens and it's really a door.
>> Yeah, there's yeah, you go in the front door and then to your left is a bookcase.
>> Yep.
>> And then the bookcase is opens up into the magic room where all the >> And they had like the old wooden theater seating like so somebody could go in there and do magic tricks. Really cool.
>> Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was really neat.
The guy was a a doctor.
I don't know if he's alive or not.
I'll tell you what, that guy's that guy spent a ton of money on the magic stuff in his life lifetime.
>> Yep.
>> I guess whenever [snorts] you're a doctor you can >> It's a neat hobby to have.
>> Yeah.
Think he ever tried to do tricks for his patients?
>> He did have. It reminds me of that Robin Williams movie, which was based on a a real doctor.
>> Yeah.
Was it Patch or something?
>> Yeah.
>> The only thing is this dude was a gynecologist.
>> Oh.
>> [laughter] >> What's What's he pulling a rabbit out of my hat? He's like, "Dude, would you just finish, please?"
>> [laughter] >> I didn't know that.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh >> Uh-huh.
Okay.
>> of changes things.
I was >> [laughter] >> I was thinking like pediatrician, go around to the sick kids and cheer them up with tricks.

>> Yeah.
>> Did you do magic shows when you were a kid?
>> No, I didn't.
>> I did. Does that surprise you?
>> No.
>> I think I called myself the great Lonzo or something like that.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, here's your cards for that probably.
