The NFL Draft is coming to the state of Scholl in 2028. Tonight, there's already a buzz. This is going to be the biggest event since the state has seen since the Super Bowl back in 2018. We'll all be here from some leaders who say Minnesota knows how to put on a show, huh? Yeah, and this party has been a long time in the making. Officials say the bid stretched nearly 300 pages laying out everything from infrastructure to security. Minnesota caught the attention of NFL officials and convinced them the Bold North is ready for the spotlight once again.
That Minnesota will host the draft in 2028. That announcement setting off celebrations. It's going to be an exciting thing. You get to see all a lot of the players walk through you a lot of these coaches and stuff, too. So, it's it's a very interactive thing and you get to see a lot of players you don't normally get to see. Fans are fired up, but so is the state's bottom line. The event's economic impact ranges from 100 to 200 million dollars. We want to provide impact for our community that we love. And so, for us, that's been incredible. This year's NFL Draft in Pittsburgh set an all-time record with more than 800,000 fans over 3 days. Matt Meunier, the bid director with Minnesota Sports and Events, says the goal is to set the bar high for fan experience. We know how to do large-scale events really, really well.
In 2018, the Twin Cities hosted the Super Bowl and it brought with it more than 370 million in new spending and more than 450 million was spent in the state over 10 days. The next year, the men's Final Four generated 143 million dollars. Organizers say this isn't just about football, but showcasing what Minnesota has to offer. Fans can expect an energetic, welcoming, and distinctly Minnesota celebration.
