The video effectively dismantles the "isolated incident" fallacy by tracing the structural continuity of racial oppression across American history. It serves as a necessary, evidence-based rebuttal to the narrative that systemic injustice is merely a relic of the past.

Why everything gotta be about race? đ€AjoutĂ© :
Hey, what's up y'all? So, y'all know I like to come on here and make y'all laugh and tell stories by telling my truth. I got a very interesting story to say the least. It happened this past weekend. Me and Jackson were at a basketball tournament, played well, and uh a lot of the dads were sitting together talking about what the future looks like for college athletes. And one dad brought up the fact about um the SEC and the gerrymandering that's going on down south. And one of the dads asked a legitimate question. He said, "Why does everything have to be about race?" And of course, you know, he he wasn't black, so he really didn't have the perspective to understand where we were coming from.
So I said, "If you really want to know, I'll tell you, but you got to listen and not judge." And he was like, "Sure, I really want to know." I said, "I'm going to start here just so you know where we're coming from, but it starts way before this.
You know that enslaved people in this country were freed in 1865. We weren't allowed to read, write, or own property, right? We had to work for free." He said, "Yes." said, "Did you know that in 1867 the same country created the Vagrancy Act?" Which means that if you couldn't read, write, or own property, you became property of the state and considered a convict. Yeah. Right. That person then had to participate in what's called convict leasing, which means they take that person who was formerly enslaved but now a convict and they have to work for free for the state, slavery by another name. He said, "I didn't know that." I said, "Well, do you know about redlinining?" He was like, "Not much." I said, 'Well, you know about Jim Crow?
He's like, yes. You know about lynching?
Yes. Do you know about mass incarceration? Not exactly. I said, 'Well, me, for example, I'm 42 years old. You know, I lived in a city in Brooklyn that participated in stop and frisk. This is not the 60s. This is not the ' 50s, 1800s. This was 1990s to the early 2000s. Stopping frisk means me walking down the block. The police could check me, grab everything, throw my stuff on the floor. I've I've been through that. I've been detained several times and put a handcuffs. This is as recent as 2012. And he was like, "I didn't know." I said, "So, let me ask you a question.
The government has admitted to all of these atrocities that they've done to people who look like me, but found no way to repair any of the harm done.
We wake up. is 2026.
They're now gerrymandering to make sure that we have less impact at the polls, but also found $1.8 billion dollar to pay people who stormed the capital and killed police officers.
Now, let me ask you, you living in this country, you didn't know half the stuff I was talking about, and that's like a tenth of a percent of the things that black people in this country have gone through. And I'm looking at him and and I looked in his eyes and he looked like legit like damn I didn't know that. I asked him then when has it not been about race for us?
