[00:00:00]People often say they fear death because they'll miss the world, but I don't think that's what truly frightens me.

[00:00:06]The world existed long before me, and it will continue after me. What troubles me most is something else. The possibility that one day I will never think again, never feel again, never be aware of my own existence again. Not missing the world, missing consciousness [music] itself.

[00:00:25]Missing this strange experience of being alive, of feeling me, of perceiving existence from the inside. Because when people imagine death, they often imagine darkness. But darkness is still an experience. What's difficult to confront is the possibility of no experience at all. No thoughts, no awareness, no feeling of being. The end of subjective experience itself. And maybe that's why the human mind struggles so deeply with mortality. Because consciousness feels temporary intellectually, but absolute from the inside. I don't miss experiencing the world.
