The video brilliantly gamifies the limitations of human perception, illustrating that our sensory memory is a subjective reconstruction rather than a perfect digital archive.

TEST EVERY PART OF YOUR BRAIN | Dialed.GGAdded:
Hello everybody. My name is Markiplier and welcome to dial.gg. Do you have ears?
Might sound like an insensitive question, but it won't sound like that if you don't have ears. Oh, I don't know what's wrong with me. I've tried to record this three times. I'm just going to gloss over that. We're all going to forget that that happened. The editors will make a determination if the last part actually gets in there. My career is in their hands. I'm sure that they won't treat me arry. Hey, distraction. Look at that. Hey, I finally got the uh the disc producer BP 103. So, I I tested one. I did a test copy of one and it it does work and I popped it into a DVD/ Blu-ray player and it worked. It played. It had a menu and everything. Now, here's the here's the thing. How the hell do I make a custom menu? Does anybody know in 2026 the year of our lord what the hell you use to make a custom DVD menu? It has nothing to do with any of this, but I'm going to start to get roll into talking [ __ ] like this while I talk about [ __ ] like you mean. I don't know. I don't know what's wrong with me. Anyway, so my ears are ears and I don't know if they're good or not. So, let's test that out.
You hear a sound, you recreate it.
Simple as that.
It would be It would be easier. Maybe that's the point. That's not easier. If it would be easier if it left me with a bit of silence.
before it goes to the next tone, wherever it defaults to. But now, this isn't I I I don't think that this is actually going to be for like perfect pitch. That's not what this is about.
Oh, it was higher. Okay. Well, BUT BUT THAT'S ONLY THREE OFF. THAT'S ONLY THREE OFF. I DON'T KNOW. I shouldn't try to recreate it because what's in my head and what's out my mouth isn't always the same thing, which is my excuse for all the things that I've said in this video thus far that may or may not be in here because the editors are covering for me and they're complicit in the crime. I shouldn't say that when I'm trying to entice people to cover up for my crimes.
Uh, I'll pay them money.
Man, I'm way off. But that doesn't see Okay. I I mean, I've guess Okay. I've never claimed to have perfect pitch.
I've never claimed to have close to perfect pitch. So, this is just Let me increase the volume.
closer, I think. I don't know what my scores are.
Hey, but I'm I'm not in the top million.
Wow, that's pretty embarrassing. Your pitch memory is better than you deserve.
Yeah, I know. Jesus Christ. All right, whatever. Hold on. I have one outli Well, I have two outliers. Okay, if there's two, it's not really an outlier, but I'm going to say it's kind of an outlier is Let's try again.
Can you imagine like a battle royale? I saw multiplayer a battle royale version of this where there's 100 people in a room just all going Oh, IT WAS 116. OH, [ __ ] I could have had that. Could have had that. I always second guess it.
Oh, I've been Okay, so the higher it is, the less the discrepancy counts or something like that.
I'm tuning in. I'm calibrating. I'm Oh, hey.
Ah, okay. That's that that that might be my best one so far. That was my best one so far. 49. the frequency of almost Stephanie. Hey, [ __ ] you, man. Oh, come on. Hey. Oh, come on. But I Jesus Christ. 169,000.
Well, all right then. Everyone's a bunch of overachievers over here trying to be so goddamn perfect all the time. All right, I'm going to keep going till I get one perfect. And I know I'm only playing on easy. Well, let me try hard.
Okay, let me try hard on try hard.
Let's see what what still good. It's just less time to hear it. I think.
Oh, IT DIPPED. IT DID. OH, IT HIT. I I YOU SAW. YOU SAW. LET'S SEE. AND ZOOM.
ZOOM ON. What happened? I had IT AND IT IT DRAGGED DOWN WHEN I TRIED TO CLICK ON the thing.
Huh? That was hard. I don't know why that was hard.
I feel like the scores are just arbitrary at this point. That's six away. I don't know why that deserves that many off.
Okay. All right. Okay. All right. So, I have this really bad outlier there.
We'll allow it barely. What do you mean?
What? What do you mean? I feel like that's pretty deep. Except for this.
That was not my fault. That was not my fault. Replay it 10 times in a row.
Don't interrupt me talking. Have me talking over it, but create some dramatic music to showcase the injustice of the moment that occurred and then blow everything up. That you forgot something.
Well, blow me up.
All right. I'll keep going on hard. That That was more of challenge.
Am I recording? GOD, I BETTER BE RECORDING THAT. OH. OH.
YES. YES.
YEAH.
Oh my god.
I have attuned with the universe. I Oh my god. I'm going to get such an outlier on one of these. I'm going to get have like 10 10 10 three. Oh my god. That was Oh my god. Okay.
No, no, no. It's okay.
Oh my [ __ ] god.
I'll take it. I will take it because that means that I don't have enough.
Look at that.
Look at that. Oh, perfect score. You've peaked. It's all down from here. Tell everyone. I did. I Oh my [ __ ] god.
that gives me the right to talk about ears. I think it gives me an authority and it forgives anything I might have said earlier in this episode about ears.
Okay, I don't think that I'm in the wrong because I would have heard otherwise.
Oh, what's it like? This is going straight to my head if you didn't know.
It was already in my head. The ears were already attached to my head. The sound was coming from inside and the sound is genius. And it is me.
I probably got a better score than you.
What is it like? What is it like to be effectively worse than me? Oh, you're going to go to this website. You're going to try, but you're never going to make it. I'm going to put my initials in there.
[ __ ] godamn it. I got it. I'm in there. I'm in the system. [ __ ] I spent so much brain power diverting to my hearing sensors. I've forgotten my middle name.
That's not all. That's That's not all.
That is the opposite of all. They have other modules, I think, is actually probably the better term for that.
>> Hard.
>> Brutal.
>> No, I don't think so.
>> Single player.
>> That's weird that you're talking.
Purple.
Purple.
Purple.
Oh my. Oh [ __ ] Oh. Oh. Oh.
Uh. Purple. [ __ ] [ __ ] N out of 10. That looks way different to me. But it's cuz my eyes are so good.
Okay. All right. Hang on. I got to recalibrate. I got to send neurons from my ears to my eyes.
It's like a brownish gray. How do I get brown?
So, it's kind of desaturated. Bit darker. No, wasn't. Yeah, it was a bit darker. Like that. Oh, good.
That's not Oh, it's kind of got more pink to it.
My brain took a proper snapshot for once. I'm Look, I just started kind of a mauve. It's mauve. It's looking mauve. That's looking real mauve. It's kind of like purple with a pink. A little light. A little light, but not that light. Not that light, man.
Man, I don't remember at all. My my Is that mauv? I wouldn't say that's that's not looking the that that looking mauv mau. [ __ ] I was way off. I always think things are brighter in my memory. Must be because I'm so optimistic. I must be still riding the high from my victory in the sound module.
This accuracy is making people uncomfortable because it's so good. Cuz it's so bad. Actually, I was right on Whoa, I was right on the hue. The saturation and brightness were off.
Okay, so I just need to dial those down.
My saturation was spot on. My hue, sorry. Blue. It's blue. It's basically blue. Straight up blue.
That is pretty much straight blue, but saturated and brighter. Oh man. I'm thinking everything's brighter than it was. It's not that bright. It's not that saturated. No, it was. It was very blue.
It was extremely blue, but probably not that bright. Go for it. Oh, FOR ONCE I WAS BRIGHTER THAN WHAT I THOUGHT. MORE SATURATED.
Off by a pixel. We're disturbed. Not impressed. Okay, whatever, man. Fine.
Black. Oh, green. Kind of like a forest green. Slightly dark.
70% saturation.
Like a tint of blue. Maybe hint of blue.
Is that what it was? I feel like it was a little Was it missing? I can't tell.
Something doesn't feel right.
That's what it was. It was It was more saturated, but darker, I think. Yeah, like that.
That was pretty close. My hue was way off, though.
My saturation and brightness were accurate, but my hue was off cuz it did have more blue. And then I said it didn't because Oh, I switched that and then I did the All right. Whatever.
Okay. What' I get?
There seems to be a very solid theme going on here, but that only flipped here. But these all kind It's weird.
Wait a minute. There's some data in the pattern here. This and this and this are very similarly off. This is also very similarly off, but this is flipped in a way. I am just so much more optimistic.
Yeah, that's what it is. I've just got that. All right, let's try hard.
Brown. It's pretty brown. It's very brown.
Brown. Darker. Darker. It's darker. God, it's darker. But not that much darker.
Actually, that's really nice. One decimal for imperfection. Sleep well.
Thank you. Teal. Tealish.
Kind of. Maybe. I feel like it was a bit more blue.
No, it wasn't a bit more blue. Whoa, my hue was way off. What? You locked that color in like it owed you rent. I don't think those are that close. I think actually these were pronouncedly different. How what what metric are you judging this by?
like a pale pink with kind of leaning a little purple but very very pale but really dark.
Nope. Why do I imagine it? Oh, it's because what's happening is I'm seeing all the colors that come before it and I forget which one I'm supposed to memorize.
Adequate. Frame that word and hang it on your wall. Whatever, man. Shut up. Like it's not that color. It's not that color either. It's this color. Okay. Like a tangerine orange.
Well, it definitely wasn't that bright.
Maybe.
Whoa.
Salmon. It was salmon, not orange. Why did I get that? Oh my god.
Poop. It's poop. It's the color of poop.
That's straight up poop. Just got to make some poop. Bam. Good [ __ ] What?
Are they changing it on me? Was that the color? Is it them flashing the other colors? Is that actually affecting the color that I'm seeing? Cuz there's a thing about that, right? When you have when you stare at other colors, the color cones linger from I don't that it was straight up poop. I remember the poop. It looked like poop. And my poop don't look like that. They are tricking me.
They're tricking me. All right, hold on.
Okay.
Weirdly good. Suspiciously good. No, it's not.
Okay.
darker but satur. No, I don't remember at all. I Oh, [ __ ] I think it's all clear that I don't have a photographic memory. Right, we're all agreed with that. I've got too much imagination going on for me to be able to remember this. But let me all I need to do is reconfigure my neuronal structure so that I can actually create a subsystem in my brain that is better at this. Right? That's all I need to do.
Okay. All right. I have it. I have it locked in. I have it. I have it. I have it. No. Wait. This feels wrong. No.
That's It was more more poopy. It was more poopy. But it was more pee.
How the [ __ ] did I get that?
It was way more peepy.
I'm trying one eye. Got it. Nailed it.
Just old one eye. That's what they call me.
Old one eye. Nope. Not. Not even. Nope.
Saturated. Bright. Saturated. Bright.
And kind of green. Okay. Bright.
Saturated. Bright. And kind of green.
Yeah. Maybe a little darker. Maybe not.
Kind of green. Oh, it wasn't as saturated as I I swear they're [ __ ] with me. Hold on. Cuz I got the brightness and I got the hue really close. But I thought that was much more saturated than it was. Maybe.
Okay. I'm going to try with left eye.
Okay, I'm trying left eye. I'm going to see which eye is betraying me. Okay, see which which eye is betraying me.
That's a similar pissy yellow.
It's not very saturated. It's kind of dark. Little more orange. Like that.
What? No [ __ ] way. No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No. See, I'm not color blind because I can see the differences in the color. Like I can see the differences, but I'm the kind of what's the equivalent of tonedeaf but for eyes. And that's not color blind. And I know I'm not. I've taken it. I'll take one right now cuz all you may color I'm not. Watch this. Just you wait. 9 2 5 9 3 9 8 5 6 3 4 3 3 7 5 3 9 3 6 Oh, [ __ ] you. No, okay. No, unfuck you. See, normal. That's me, baby. I'm normal. But my memory for it is bad. So, let's try this again.
Unsaturated, kind of bright, pink.
Saturated, kind of bright, pink.
Okay. Ah, dim, like middle of the road, saturation, brightness, and then orange-ish.
No, not it wasn't brown. Why didn't I say the color that it was out loud? It was very middle of the road. Maybe it had a bit more yellow into I I can't remember. Oh, it did. Okay. All right.
That's Hey, that hue is shockingly close. See, this is where I don't get you. See, my saturation and brightness are not that off, but I've had a nine that was weirdly closer than that. That was farther away than that. I think burnt crimson. Like a burnt crimson. Is that crimson that way or I think it might be this way?
No, not that bright. It was like that.
No, but it was more red. It might have been like damn near straight up red. And it was kind of burnt crim. Not that bright.
Yeah, it wasn't that bright, but actually it was more saturated, but less bright. Your memory is upsettingly good.
Yeah. To me.
Okay. Kind of like a just a orange. Just dim orange. kind of orange kind of a but saturated enough to register as orange but it was dim but not that dim.
It was pretty much straight up orange but just a little on the dim side. Oh, we can't tell the difference and neither can you. I mean I can tell the difference cuz I'm not color blind.
Okay, I'm getting better. I'm still not great. I'm way worse on the rankings than I was on the sound. But I was really getting better towards the end there. Let me do Let me try brute >> bre single rail.
>> Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Blue. Blue. Okay. Am I Wait. Am I Oh, [ __ ] [ __ ] Blue. Blue.
It was blue. WHAT THE [ __ ] WHAT?
SO, I work better under pressure. That's the answer. I work better under pressure.
Oh, what is that? Okay. What? It's like kind of a pale purpleish thing.
No, that's not What the [ __ ] I mean, that's not great. Don't get me wrong. It's under nine, which is like not But the fact that under the pressure it's actually working better, the adrenaline is getting to me.
Purple. Purple. It's like a dark purple.
Very dark, unsaturated purple. Very dark. You like that?
[ __ ] What the [ __ ] What the [ __ ] I'm doing better. Holy [ __ ] Holy [ __ ] Oh, it's like a It's like a dark forest green.
A dark forest green. Dark. Darker.
Okay, that is That's still I thought Oh, my s my Oh my god, my saturated and brightness were almost exactly spot-on.
My hue was wrong.
What the [ __ ] It's like a It's like a kind of a purpley pink kind of thing, but desaturated. No, no, it was more saturated. [ __ ] God damn it. It's sucking. It's closer than I thought it'd be. I just didn't have that much space to do it. Oh. Oh my god.
Oh.
Oh.
Okay. Besides that last one, I just ran out of time to get to where I wanted to be.
All right, they got one more here. Time.
Okay, we're trying to count time here, right? So, time. I'm guessing I have durations. Try to recreate. What do you mean recreate? All right, we'll see how this goes.
OH MY GOD, I am incredibly pretty close. Pretty close. Pretty close.
H. All right. I'm getting worse. I think I'm getting worse.
I'm getting better. I'm getting better.
I I am time. Not impressive. Concerned.
Oh. Oh, I still got over nine. Okay, cool. Yes.
Oh, well, I'm way down in the rankings.
I thought I was Okay, whatever. One point from perfection. That's one point.
That point is everything. Well, I'm actually two if you I appreciate you rounding up on me, but you know, whatever. So, what if it's uh hard? It's hard to do. I'm guessing this is longer durations.
What the [ __ ] is the other don? Why are you putting other donkin in there?
Okay. All right. You have the timing of someone who just Okay. All right. Okay.
My superpower might not be time.
Okay. Getting a little better. Little better. Okay. It's the other donking.
The donking is getting in the way.
I'm a little bit behind. A bit behind on all these.
All right. Okay. All right then. All right. Still not too good. Okay. I'm going to leave it at there. Time's not my specialty. Apparently, everyone's too good at time. I'm not good enough at time to compete with that. But hey, the sound I was pretty good at. The color. I got there eventually and proved myself non-colorblind, which is more important to stave off the debate. Anyway, I still got a little work to get these going, mass-producing, but uh for now it's um it's pretty cool. They have a lot of satisfying thunkage. It reminds me of like when my dad worked with printers a lot because you know all the plastic trays and things like that. I mean, it's kind of the same nowadays, but there's something there's a difference to it.
This has the kind of plastic that's in old tech that's not in like modern plastic tech like printers and stuff. I I don't know. It's a little sturdier and I don't know how to explain it. It's nicer and it sounds more robust when you're pressing it and clicking it. I don't know if any of this will come through, but hold on.
A lot of you are just like, "Wow, Mark, that sounds like a microwave. Way to go." And I'm like, "Okay, all right, guys. You don't need to lean into me that hard." But anyway, this was uh dialed.gg. Link in the description if you want to try this for yourself. Uh I look forward to you bashing your head against the wall trying to beat my high scores. Uh except for the ones that you can beat pretty easily. The sound one, that was pretty impressive.
All right. Thank you.
Anyway, it's if you want to play it, let me know what you thought down in the comments below. Thank you, and as always, I will see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
