Real wages (purchasing power adjusted for inflation) can diverge significantly from nominal wage increases, as demonstrated by Bureau of Labor Statistics data showing real average hourly earnings decreased 0.5% in April 2026 despite nominal wage increases, because consumer prices rose 6% while wages rose only 0.2%. This illustrates why examining the whole picture—including inflation, cost of living adjustments, and regional variations—is essential for understanding true economic conditions, and why policy debates about minimum wage increases involve complex trade-offs between worker compensation and business costs.

Real economy they don’t want you to seeAñadido:
Okay, so there's a lot going on right now and we got to talk about it. So, first this is Hasset, one of uh Trump's economic dudes says here, Hasset urges Americans to look at the whole picture on prices. Okay, look at the whole picture. Uh this is him here talking about it. The next thing is the the incomes real incomes are are soaring. If you look at real wage data, then the typical American family has gained about $3,000 since President Trump took office after losing after inflation. Uh more than $3,000 under Joe Biden. And so we've got, you know, smoothing through the ups and downs even with the higher price of energy, real incomes on the rise. And for construction workers, uh for manufacturing workers, for mining workers, some the numbers are really astonishing for mining workers, their real incomes this year up $7,000 per year. So according to Hassid, that's a direct quote. Real incomes are soaring if you look at real wage data. Okay? And here's the thing. This is actually the Bureau of Labor Statistics from directly from the government like right here. And as of uh they did this report for April 2026. This was done back in May. So just a few weeks ago, um real average hourly earnings for all employees decreased.5% from March to April. Right? I can see right there. And basically what it was is um your wages went up a little bit 0.2 but then consumer prices went up 6%.
So basically uh prices are going up faster than your income. So when he refers to you know real income, wages, whatever, look at the whole numbers. I'm like looking at it here and I don't know what he's talking about. It's also in the financial times uh not just um in the USA but all over the world. It says here real wages start to shrink in developed countries. Right? So basically Kevin has a liar. Long story short but I just do want to show you guys. I do look at everything and don't let these people gaslight you. Now what's going to happen is that they're going to go on TV and this is washed, right? The new Fed chair. uh they may try to figure out how uh to change the numbers around, cook the books by using different indicators.
So, for example, it says Kevin Walsh uh wants the Fed to think about inflation differently. Oh, really? Okay. To measure underlying inflation, new chairman has urged the central bank to look at alternatives to its standard gauge. And I think the phrase you may end up be seeing in the future is trimmed mean. I guess that's what they're going to try to go for and basically just find a new way to calculate the numbers so it doesn't look so bad. Uh and then the other one will be will they use these new, you know, numbers or whatever they want to use to try to cut rates which could be an absolute disaster. But this is where we're at with Trump's economy. So I just want to show you guys this kind of stuff. Uh then they um have Trump tweeting out today bragging about his cognitive test, which is really weird.
Everything he does is weird. Trump. The results of my physical exam taken at the Walter Reed Military Military Medical Center and just released today was extremely good. According to Trump, unlike other presidents, none of whom have ever taken an approved high difficulty cognitive test, I scored a perfect 30 out of 30. And I guess this is now the fourth time he's done it. So now he's claiming he did a 120 questions correct. Wow, fantastic. And this is like a dementia screening thing, so I don't know. breaking about this is is weird. You can see it right there. And then this is actually Fox News which I thought was really interesting. They are actually reporting that musicians are dropping out from his concert, right?
President Trump floats scrapping turn America's 250th anniversary concert for the massive mega rally uh after multiple artists pull out of the great American state lineup. And um there was some question about the CNC music factory thing. So I think they might be out at least according to this artists withdrew including Martina McBride, Brett Michaels, Young MC Morris Day and the Time and CC Music Factory.
Trump called them quote overpriced singers who who nobody wants to hear whose music is boring.
So why did you invite them? The whole thing's weird. You know, he's he's he's the kind of person like, you know, I didn't like her anyway if when the girl sends him a a no note in grade school that they they checked no on the box. Do you like me? This is where we're at. And um and then you've got his people going up on TV talking about the $250 bill.
>> The $250 bill that the president is talking about in terms of putting his image on the $250 bill. Is this really going to happen?
>> Well, we'll we'll see it is there there's pending legislation in the House. If it passes, then we'll do it.
And you know, Maria, I think it's fitting President Trump is the president during our 250th anniversary. that Calvin Kulage was president during the 150th anniversary and there was a coin printed for him and you know I I think it's a a great celebratory note for a great president >> and will we also have a coin with President Trump's >> there there's already a coin >> there's already a coin >> there's already a coin so Treasury uh we have uh sketched it out what it would look like because we have to prepare way in advance and if the legislation passes then we'll do it if it doesn't we won't >> and that's a a picture right there of the $250 bill with Trump's face on it. I think that's his mugsh shot picture there. Then you've got this. Remember talking about real wages as saying you're all doing great. Well, in many states they're like, "No, no, we're not." And in fact, they want to raise wages. So, this is in Oklahoma. They're going to vote on it. It says, uh, in deeply red Oklahoma, minimum wages biggest 2026 election cycle fight is about to be decided. It's really interesting. And effectively they want to think um maybe we should raise uh minimum wage up to $15. They're going to do it in um stages if they were to pass.
They're going to vote this in like mid June. Says a ballot measure for midJune primary in Oklahoma state uh question 832. Okay. Would like to hike the state minimum wage from 725 and it's been there since 2009 which is a really long time which is really low too. uh to $12 in 2027, uh 1315 in 2028, and then 15 in 2029. And then it says with the minimum wage increasing each year after 2929 based on the cost of living adjustment.
So they're actually pretty serious with waging raising wages in Oklahoma. Um this is this honestly this issue gets to the um heart of this current economic debate in USA. Basically, should we pay workers fair or not? Do we want to create a a K-shaped economy where just, you know, Elon Musk and that class will basically get all the money out there and then just not pay anybody? That's just what it boils down to. The arguments they're going to make against raising wages, and I'll just say this, um, when you ask people, do you want to get paid more? People tend to say yes.
Yes, I do. Um, they've actually voted on this several states over I think was this like a 30-year period. Uh, it says country ride between 1996 and 2025.
voters approved 28 of 32 minimum wage uh increases. Right? So generally again this is tends tends to be popular even in red states. So is it Arkansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Alaska, South Dakota and Florida, the vote uh yes on these things. It's just an issue that people are like do you want to get paid more?
Sure. And and when you look at prices out there, yes, people want to get paid more. The business uh community, at least some of them in Oklahoma would be against raising wages, right? Of course they don't want to pay workers. And this is the argument they make. going to give you a different point of view. Uh SQ832 would place significant pressure on small businesses, family farms, and ranches, okay, and other local employers already operating on thin margins.
Experience from other states show that policies like this can reduce hours, eliminate starter jobs, accelerate automation, and increase prices dramatically for Oklahoma families and seniors. So that's according to them. Um there's different ways that you could address this. So for example, let's say you don't want to increase wages. What you could do is increase services. And I said this so many times on the channel.
Be it public transportation, be it health care, be it education. Just just for example, let's say, okay, we definitely don't want to pay workers. We hate workers. But what if we want to help workers in other ways by like, hey, you could have a train, a subway, a bus or whatever that goes to work, you know, $1, $2 to go to work opposed to having to pay whatever is right now $450, $5, $6 gas a gallon actually to get to work.
Um, these kind of initiatives can really help people or, you know, hey, we're not going to raise wages, but in fact, what if we make healthcare affordable, right?
So your co-pays are like 20 bucks or whatever, right? Just the point I'm trying to say is like I'm not against raising wages. I'm just saying um if you don't want to raise wages, you can at least support people in other ways and then you get into the you know thing of like let's not start a bunch of wars that we don't need to be fighting. So there's that. I am curious though how people are going to go for it. I I I would bet though chances are if again if you ask regular people, do you want to get paid more? I'm sure they're going to say yes and we'll keep track on this kind of stuff.
>> I I hear what you're saying. it shouldn't be partisan, which is why there are lots of questions about why this Freedom 250 organization was created. And maybe it's not partisan, but there are questions from Democrats about where this private funding is coming from and it's not transparent. Do you think that that should be uh opened up to the public so that people see where it's coming from?
>> I I think transparency is always a good thing. And of course, I I work for the president that I think is the most transparent ever. I mean, who there's not a CEO in the country that invites the entire press pool into their board meetings and uh we haven't we haven't had a cabinet meeting in the first six.
>> So, you're going to make the donors to Freedom 250 public.
>> Well, that's up to the Freedom 250 organization and their arrangements.
>> You're a leader there, right? I the freedom 250 organizations run out of the White House, but it is not a the it's not about the transparency of the donors and it's just it's it is a again uh I'm this is about Americans celebrating the 250th anniversary and it's and it's all it's again the fact that we we are right now have so much to celebrate in our country and we're talking about a single event on a single night in DC. You can see that's how you dodge a question. And then they basically um there's two organizations. It's like the American 250 thing and then the Freedom 250 thing that's regarding Trump's birthday party.
And they're asking like where's the donor's money? Like who are the donors?
Which is which is a very legitimate question. And I think any civilized country around the world like this would be like a massive scandal. It's we it's the whole thing's weird. I always show you guys this stuff. It's it's so weird.
And and again, you just show me what they say and you can it's obvious they're liars and obviously dodging the question. You can see it for yourself.
>> The question is, and you were mentioning the reflecting pool of how how it's getting done. Um, for example, on the reflecting pool, the New York Times is reporting that you awarded two multi-million bid contracts to repair fountains at Lafayette Park and to coat the reflecting pool. Is that right?
There were no bid contracts.
>> Well, this is expedited contracting to get this pro projects done. And as I just said, we're doing 22 fountains across the city. We're doing 48 monuments. Uh we we've removed over a thousand graffiti sites.
>> Does expedited mean no bid?
>> Expedited. Uh I think you're you're implying that if you have an expedited process that somehow there's something unourred going on, but if you've got one vendor that has the material, has the labor, has the ability, can meet the timeline, and can get it open.
>> Well, it's also the price, right? I mean, you know this better than I do.
The Times uh said the company doing the reflecting pool has a 20% profit margin.
Standard is 6 to 12% going through the reg process.
>> That was a again that's I always say say fake news is too simple but um >> is that not true?
>> Well it's it's true that someone can say that but you know now they get into this project they they these folks are awarded the bid because they have the material they have the capability they have thing.
>> So that's the Trump people. You can see it for yourself. They spin things. They dodge questions. They gaslight you in the situation. You're asking about no bid contracts. He's like going on and on about, well, it's expedited. It's like, does that mean no bid? Well, it's expedited.
I mean, just imagine being like married to these people or being friends with people. It just No one wants to talk to like liars like this. Basically, I I don't I know it's frustrating to watch this stuff, but I do want to keep you informed of what's going on. And honestly, this is what unfortunately the Trump people are that this is absolutely corrupt. and it's going to be end up being the worst in history, but hopefully it ends soon. Again, we're coming into midterms and I think all the stuff we're going to be going to be investigated. So that's my thoughts on that and um I do appreciate your time everyone and I'll catch youall on the next
