Before You Freeze Your Eggs, Watch This!Added:
So they told you that once you freeze your eggs, you can have a baby anytime you want. That's what they said. 40 years, 50 or any time. Could you please come close? Let's talk about this because that's not exactly how it works.
Let me explain. First of all, what is egg freezing? There's a medical name for it and it's long. It's called usite cryopreservation.
And usite is egg cryopreservation is just long name for freezing and storing.
So egg freezing is the process of taking a woman's eggs out of her body first and you not take it to a very cold temperature so cold that every activity you stop until she's ready to use it.
And the activity is the biological activity. So the things that happen in the celebrity will just stop. Now you know how you used to take fresh tomato and then you put it in the freezer so that you can use it later for longer.
That's how egg freezing works. You are preserving something while it's still young and healthy so that you can use it later when you are ready. This is how they do it. First of all, the doctor will give you hormone injection. Not one day, sometimes about 10 to 14 days. This is to stimulate your ovaries. It's telling your ovaries go and produce more eggs. Produce more eggs. Produce more eggs. produce more eggs. So instead of one egg that they will produce one month, we produce more eggs that month.
Once the egg is now mature, doctor will now use a small needle and then they'll use ultrasound at the same time. They be guiding the needle and you going going from to just collect the egg from your ovaries. Remember, you're not going to be awake when you're going to when they going to be doing this. You're going to be asleep during the procedure. When they remove the egg, they will now take it and then freeze it through a particular technique called vitrification.
This means that they are frozen so fast so that ice does not form inside the egg. And is important because if ice forms inside the egg, it will damage the egg. They now take the egg and then put it in a special tank at minus 196°.
Hey, for reference, eh, your fridge, your fridge, the one in your house that when you open cold air will just boil it. That's about 4°. Your freezer is most likely around -8. So imagine - 196.
That's a completely different world. At that temperature, they can store this egg for years. Let me now talk about why people freeze their eggs. Freeze their eggs for different reasons. Number one, career or lifetime. Some women say, "I am not ready to give birth to a baby right now. I'm building my career and I've not found the right person, but I know that my eggs are getting older and b I choose to freeze my eggs. But here's the truth that nobody tells you. A woman is born with all the eggs she will ever have. There are no new eggs and every year that passes, the eggs get older and their quality can go down, especially after 35. So, some women say, "Let me keep some of my younger eggs safe, and when I figure out what to do, I can do what I want to do with it." This is a very valid reason for freezing your eggs. Number two, medical reason. If a woman is about to do something like, let's say, chemotherapy for cancer or do radiation or any other treatment that might damage her reproductive system, he can freeze her eggs before the treatment starts. This means that even when the treatment affects her ovaries, she still has options that have been frozen and kept somewhere. There's also personal reason. Some women just want to have control over their own reproductive future. And in Kachi, this is okay. Full stop. Yes, it's not your business. Now, many of you are asking what happens after I freeze my eggs. Number one is it those hormone that they injected in the beginning in order to make your body they can cause different things bloating or mood swings or discomfort or because you told your body to make more eggs at once. So sometimes you might feel your stomach is full and heavy. Some women start describing the feeling as if there's balloon inside their ovaries. But there's also something called ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome. It's called OSS.
Now this is when the ovaries now overreact to the stimulation of the hormones and then swell up. For some women this will go away on its own is mild. But for some women about 1 to 2% of women it can become very serious severe pain even breathing hard. Which is why if you're going to do this procedure it must be done by a welltrained fertility doctor. Not just any doctor that says I can do it. A fertility specialist.
Even a normal doctor said or a general doctor might struggle with this. So you need a specialist to do this. Number two, freezing your eggs does not guarantee pregnancy. Please, I need you to hear this part very well. Freezing your eggs is not the same as having a baby in the bank. When you are ready to use the eggs, they will go back and then those eggs that have been frozen, they will soften it back. And not all eggs survive it. The survival rate is about 80 to 90% with modern vitification technique. But still not every egg will make it. The eggs that now survive they will now fertilize it with sperm. Not all of them will fertilize. Of the ones that fertilize, not all will develop properly. Of the ones that develop, not all will result in a successful pregnancy. So the process is real. It's possible, but there's no guarantee.
The younger you are when you freeze your eggs, the better the quality. Doctors will generally say the best time is before 35. after 38 the quality of eggs start to drop more. So I'm not saying rush now I'm be doing I'm just telling you to know the facts inside the comment section after yes I've been I've been I've been I've been going through the comment section and been looking at some of the comments now is because I'm I'm I'm beginning to understand that some of you have now become professors of the school of medicine with 10 years experience on your own with your phone with your mouth with your phone somebody is saying oh egg prison can prevent pregnancy or STI I laugh in Egg freezer has nothing absolutely nothing to do with contraception or STI.
If you freeze your egg today and go home and do without protection 9 months we come back visiting. Yes. If the person has STI you will carry it. So if you know you are not ready to start buying baby things or treaty STI please use a protection even if you frozen your eggs.
I take God beg you because your frozen eggs can be sitting in a tank somewhere but they are not protecting anything inside your body. Number two, another person has said this, frozen eggs is not as good as fresh eggs. You also need to understand that when they take the eggs, they're not taking all the eggs in your body. Now, your body still has some eggs that are remaining and those particular eggs are waiting for somebody to sperm inside. You get so just the ones that are taken and are kept is there, but there are still some eggs remaining inside your body. So please, if you know that you don't want to get pregnant, freezing your eggs does not necessarily mean that you're now free to eh anyhow, no, please still protect yourself because you can still get pregnant. Now research is showing that with the modern methods, you can get similar success rates to fresh eggs even in IVF. You see, science has improved the dramatically. Don't they resemble magic at this point? This person has also said if you freeze your eggs, you will not get pregnant naturally. Foul I don't know where you people are getting all these things that you're hearing from freezing your eggs right and keeping it does not affect the natural fertility that's already going on inside your body your ovaries will continue working normally after the procedure right so please let's now start to let's now go to why we made this video if you are thinking about this for any reason whether is medical personal career please go and talk to a certified fertility specialist not a chemist, not a doctor, not Google, not the auntie who knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody, not a quack doctor. See a fertility specialist, they will check your ovarian reserve, which is how many eggs you have left, and then tell you if and when egg freezing will make sense for you.
So please, you know what to do with this video. Group chats, drop it inside. Tell that your auntie that is considering it, drop it inside a message because many women are now making plans based on rumors and one auntie story. Let us me and you let's help them remember this remains what a proposal school of
