🚨 Ripple XRP: David Just Said it Out Loud 🚨

[00:00:00]But two areas on blockchain keeping institutions up at night is risk around DeFi, specifically bridging and quantum computing. David Schwarz tells us really why the base infrastructure, the XRP ledger, allows us to address both of these risk factors and will give us a big advantage as we try to onboard institutions. They know they can rely on this technology and it's going to keep their funds safe. Let's take a look at this. Of course, with DeFi, the big one was the kelp Dow hack. $292 million in wrapped Ethereum that was exploited here. We're talking about $116,000 coins in total here. And the exploit, it targeted the layer zero base bridge. And all they had to do here was compromise one node. That's all it took. And 116,000 ETH were stolen. Big deal here. Now, David Schwarz, he says, look, he had to look at all these bridging solutions for Ripple's RLUSD. And what he found is most of them were capable of stopping this type of attack. And what he says likely happened is people went for convenience and scaling quickly over safety. Here we have a with a bunch of bad debt here. Uh defi uh defi TVL shock here. Reports site billions of outflows.

[00:01:16]People are like this is dangerous. We don't want to mess around. We're out of here. And of course, this is sourced through the Lazarus group there in North Korea, centered a lot of the biggest hacks there are out there. This is a talented group and they're going to attack you if you have the value. This brought up a really interesting argument between VET who said, "Look, when you look at XRP ledger DeFi, we don't have these problems. It's built to keep institutional funds safe." You had Hugo that's saying, you know, don't dance on people's graves uh when you have something like this. I think if you do have a problem uh like we saw here with DeFi and your system is more capable of dealing with that then you should really this is a great learning time to say this is why XRP ledger DeFi is superior in some instances but here's the deal when we look at XRP ledger DeFi it's really built for institutions where KYC is built in uh it's really a hybrid model where you have off-chain custody all this kind of stuff and that's great it doesn't need to compete with Ethereum and salon and things like that because institutions, they need that compliance built in. They need the safeguards and so it's really two very different markets. It's not better. It's just novel and for a totally different customer, right? There's going to be people out there that want true decentralized finance where you don't KYC and anyone can go in there and, you know, get a loan and all this kind of stuff. That's great. That's huge. We already see how big that is. That's why there was 200 and something million dollars to steal. But the XRP ledger can service an institutional client and that market's massive. You can only imagine how big that will be. And so when we think of institutions, well, they're going to go after systems like this that are built for purpose, that are built to keep their funds safe. They can't have $250 million stolen. It ain't going to work here. Now, we're getting ready for quantum computing risk here on the XRP ledger. Ripple just put out a report here. Um, and the problem is right now they're harvesting data to decrypt later, expose public keys. And so Ripple and the XRP ledger developers, they're taking a proactive defense, not this, oh, we don't have to worry about it till some, you know, far off time in the future. I'm telling you, I thought where we are today within AI would have taken a decade. And a lot of people shared that same assessment. Well, we saw how quickly things can run, where, you know, you turn the corner and things start accelerating. And we could have that at any moment with uh quantum computing specifically because you have AI which is going to speed up all of this development as we go forward here. And so what Ripple's really doing, they're out in phases. They want to be fully transition by 2028, which by most people's metrics will be in time, right?

[00:03:56]But they want by this year to be QA ready. If something happens and they have to transition, they could do so immediately. That means you know you're safe for the now but you have time to research experiment hybrid rollouts like if it happens in a moment in time you could transfer but you're not going to do so till 2028 unless you know there's an emergency right that gives you time to test to uh be ready for this full transition but still that's a blistering pace but we have to prepare now because we really don't know the timeline it's an unknown and again AI can accelerate uh what's happening with quantum and you just need a breakthrough and then you know everyone's in big trouble. So this is a great proactive timeline here. Be ready by 2028 which should be ahead of schedule but you have you know a readiness plan today in case something breaks out sooner than expected. Guiding principles cryptographic agility and continuity here. The XRP ledger advantage unlike most blockchains including Ethereum XRP already supports native key rotation update keys without moving assets. seed-based determination, uh, key generation. It has everything you need. We had that agility that is necessary from the base architecture.

[00:05:09]Again, this is the idea of you build it correct from the beginning and it's easy to upgrade. It's easy to get ready, preserve core performance. Of course, we're going to be able to maintain the XRP ledger hallmark speed, reliability, low overhead with uh a quantum resistant future here, and minimal disruption. We are ready for this upgrade. And when it's time, we can just transition over and it's going to be very little hardship on the network. Big announcement. SBI Ripple launches new yen back tokens on the XRP ledger. SBI Ripple Asia and a joint venture with Ripple and SBI holdings has secured regulatory approval to complete a platform to issue yenbacked prepaid tokens directly on the ledger. This is going live in 2026. live crossber uh bank settlements test demonstrated by Ripple SBI and A16Z. So a lot of big partners in this that is a big one here.

[00:06:02]Now when we look at right now XRP bull versus barecase after the SBI announcement you see institutional validation uh Japan leads global XRP ledger adoption standard charter after this announcement maintains its target for this year of $2.80 and they're shooting for $12.60 by 2028.

[00:06:23]uh supply uh contraction people argue but there is no doubt XRP is hitting record lows on exchanges and ETFs alone will vacuum up a lot of that supply real utility with the XRP ledger again we have live payment rails going up we have things like this announcement with SBI it's a big deal the bare case is all this stuff is early right we are just starting to gain traction and volume but we're making our way forward here with real utility real systems with real partners here strategy. They just added 34,000 Bitcoin for $2.54 billion. This is one of their biggest buys of all time. We also saw Tom Lee make a record setting buy with Ethereum.

[00:07:06]What's going on here? It's two things in my opinion. They are front running the end to the Iran war and number two, Clarity. Will those two things happen and we should see a nice pop within crypto and man, especially Tom Lee. But both of these guys need a little bit of a win here because they are underwater at the moment. We see this blame game going on right now. No one can decide who's at fault. A lot of people though, they are siding with Kelp Dow saying, you know what, no, this was a layer zero problem here. Uh I think David though sides more with layer zero, saying, yeah, it's probably cutting corners as they implemented these systems. We'll find out more as we go forward. It doesn't really matter. It just shows there's a lot of risk in these systems that many people don't recognize. Uh crypto funds primary challenge against Maxine Waters. So, Maxine Waters, her upcoming election, 69% of her opponent's funds are coming from the crypto space.

[00:07:57]They want her out of here. It's a big risk as we go forward. Make no doubt.

[00:08:01]But if you're going to be anti-crypto, you're going to see a lot of money coming in to try to get you out of office. Crypto Capitol Hill strategy.

[00:08:09]Why Waters? Why now? Well, if we have a Democrat winning, this is very dangerous because uh Maxine Waters could be the chair of the Financial Service Committee. You could have Elizabeth Warren in power, Brad Sherman, like this could be nightmare city. We need to get some of these people out. A lot of it will have to do with the incoming administration. If it's Democrat, they could still be pro technology. And you'll see a totally different approach.

[00:08:32]With President Biden, I don't think he was anti-crypto. He just didn't care.

[00:08:35]So, he let a lot of these people run wild. We'll see it play forward. You know, understand this. You will have another Democrat president eventually.
