Marriage has historically functioned as a mechanism of control over women, where women were married as children to older men without autonomy, and pregnancy was used to prevent them from leaving; this system was designed to protect men from accountability for abuse, and modern marriage continues to bind women to men through legal and financial obligations, making it a form of slavery that many women willingly enter despite its harmful nature.

Marriage is slavery for women & children are the means through which we are controlled and kept.Added:
You want to know what keeps me up at night? The fact that women don't even realize that marriage was created to enslave them and that so many women now have that as a goal for themselves. Hear me out. So I have two great great grandmothers or great great great great grandmothers who were childbrides, meaning that they were like 13, 14 and they were given away to men who were 20 years their age. My great grandmother was 14, she was given to a man who I believe was like 35-ish. They ended up having about 12 kids together in a marriage that only lasted about 20 years before he ended up dying, but he was very violent, he was abusive, and he believed in keeping her barefoot and pregnant so that she could not leave.
And women back then didn't have autonomy, they couldn't have bank accounts, so leaving the man meant leaving their children. And whether you know it or not, we have an inherent duty to protect what we create, so a lot of women weren't willing to leave their children, especially not with a man who was abusive. I have another great great great great grandmother, her name was Morning Dawn, she was indigenous. She was actually traded in a treaty between an indigenous tribe and a white man, on some real Pocahontas type of [ __ ] Now I can't say anything about the man that she was married to, but I will say the men that came from this man were child molesters. Little girls as young as 5 years old. And not only that, they would make make their children watch them in acts with prostitutes. And even closer to my age, I have some aunties who were put into foster care and they ended up a part of this church organization, which I'm going to say was a cult, and at 13, 14 again, they were married off to 40-year-old men. What we got to understand about patriarchy is the system was created to protect men from their impact, and marriage has always been a tool in that. So if you think about R. Kelly and Aaliyah, when R.
Kelly got 15-year-old Aaliyah pregnant, what did he do? He went and married her.
Why? Because you can't rape someone who you're married to. That absolved him of all responsibility for being a [ __ ] predator. And men know this. And it also makes me think about this video I saw last week where this guy was talking about how sometimes men will get women pregnant to keep them and how that is domestic abuse and the court system does not look at it that way. Because there's no way to prove intent, which I think is false because a lot of them will boldly say it. But sometimes a man will get a woman pregnant just so he does not lose access to her. So I also think that pregnancy was also another way to enslave women and that's why they have the whole barefoot and pregnant thing.
And now in modern times, it makes the parties responsible for each other. So if the man has an outside baby and owes child support, that wife is now responsible for that child support with the man cuz they're bound together. I don't know. Something has never sat right in my spirit about that. And the fact that most women don't look at that as slavery and are willingly entering into these contracts with men physically and energetically, that [ __ ] feels like spitting in the face of our ancestors.
And I'm not saying all men are like that. I'm not saying all marriage is inherently bad, but I'm saying if we talking about dismantling patriarchy, if we're talking about modern slavery, if a husband rapes his wife today, there is nothing she can do about it. And now they're trying to survey women because women are refusing to sleep with men to have children. We have always been seen as a resource. Our womb has never belonged to us. And most of us think this [ __ ] starts with where we are right now. No, this [ __ ] has been going on for a long time. They're just finding new ways to do it legally. Because one thing you got to understand about these people is they have created a whole system to protect themselves from their own treachery. And when I say they, I mean men, specifically white men. And they have convinced everybody else that the system benefits them, too. Women, you get a protector and a provider for your kids. False. Black men, you get a chance at riches and to climb the ladder and rub shoulders with us, while literally never giving you access to the club.
It's like dangling a piece of steak in front of somebody, which we're going to call potential, and then creating all these systems and these doctrines and these laws to keep them away from the [ __ ] steak. But, I [ __ ] digress.
That's not something I'm interested in because I appreciate my autonomy way too much. I would be interested in a life partner, but signing a marriage contract to bind my soul to another soul goes way beyond this physical reality because this whole entire universe is based on contracts or what we call covenants.
It's so much deeper than this life. But, I digress. Tell me how y'all feel about this in the comments.
