This analysis masterfully dresses up a standard internet drama in the formal attire of "litigation strategy," proving that even a playground spat can look like a masterclass when viewed through a legal lens. It’s a clinical autopsy of a failing narrative that exposes the fatal gap between online bravado and courtroom reality.

Reckless Ben: Ammon's Credibility Just Got Worse
Added:One of the dispatchers made a note here saying that you were going to shoot someone.
>> I said if they try to break into my house.
>> Okay.
>> Like they're they're scouting out.
They're taking pictures inside my windows. Okay.
>> You don't just That's not a normal thing. Yeah.
>> If they come if they we're not engaging.
I'm not answering the door. I'm not going outside.
>> I'm just saying if they come inside, they'll have a surprise. But at this point, I I just need some information so I can tell our staff what is going on because if I need to go and get some of my staff armed so that he can't threaten them, >> that's what I need to do.
>> And and I'm I'm kind of asking a serious question. In your opinion, would you go get a shotgun and bring it in the store?
Today in the Reckless Ben saga, new body cam footage has been released that involves multiple interviews between Ammon McNe, the Bricks and Minifig CEO, and the police of ORM, Utah. As part of that interview, Ammon McNeff made many allegations against Reckless Ben and included many wild charges, including allegations that Reckless Ben is involved or was the victim of child abuse. He also discussed with the police the possibility of arming his own employees and even inquired about obtaining a shotgun supposedly to protect his staff from the very dangerous reckless bed. Today, we're going to go through that body cam footage and I will explain to you what I'm seeing as a civil litigator with over 15 years of experience trying cases all around the country. And what I'm seeing in terms of how this body cam footage and Ammon McN's ongoing allegations and multiple misstatements and potentially false statements about Reckless Ben could impact their litigation. So, let's get into it. He's been going up and harassing and making physical and violent threats with with proxies up in Salem, Oregon. We've been trying to work through the Salem, you know, or the Kaiser Police Department up there.
>> First off, going to a place of business and asking them to return property that does not belong to them is not extortion. Second off, the threats that they are making have never been substantiated. There's never been a single piece of evidence ever submitted showing that anyone associated or affiliated with Reckless Ben ever made any threats of violence whatsoever. As far as we know, these are just sheer fabrications from Ammon McNe. Things that he has spoken about. He was not there. He did not witness this. He's just repeating what others may have told him at best. And it's going to get him into a lot of trouble. He will not make a good witness on the stand because he simply accepts the the statements made by others who may not be telling him the truth. If there was any evidence, presumably they would have come forward with it by now.
>> He has now come back out here and he started showing up at our employees residences since Sunday.
So, these employees residences are Brandon Best and Joshua Johnson, both of whom are were supposedly independent franchise owners, and it was their store where the Legos went missing. So, of course, Reckless Ben, who also had an active lawsuit with them at the time, had gone to their places of business primarily to serve them with legal papers. That's not extortion. He vandalized our store up in Salem, Oregon again and then he immediately either hopped on a flight and then uh you know came down here to Utah and started showing up at our several of our employees houses.
>> Now the vandalism as I understand it to be was them putting up a sign in front of the Bricks and Minig Salem store and probably Reckless Ben shouldn't have done that. That is that vandalism? I don't know. Is it okay? Probably not.
But also, can't they just take the sign down?
>> But he keeps sending individuals. He keeps sending other people. So yesterday, the American Fork police saw the pattern of behavior, and I don't know what else happened with the case, but they arrested him yesterday for stalking charges. So he was arrested, and it's I think he was booked into the Utah County jail. Okay.
>> And he he must have been released even though he's an out ofstate, you know, like flight risk. He was released.
>> So this is the day after Reckless Ben was first arrested. And that day that he was first arrested on March 10th, Reckless Ben was attempting to serve legal papers on Joshua Johnson. So nothing that Ammon McNe said here was correct or accurate. He was not a flight risk. He was trying to serve lawful process. He's he was there with a process server and he has a a legal right to do so.
>> And he immediately after release went to the to the Oram store to start harassing our staff there. Okay. So, is he >> and so he he's he's a YouTuber that does this stuff for for videos and clicks.
>> And what does it matter if he's a YouTuber who does it for clicks? He's there trying to bring public awareness to an issue. He's acting as an investigative journalist.
Does CBS or CNN not put on or report on the news to try to get people to watch their channel? What does it matter if he's a YouTuber?
>> He's been uh he's created uh fictitious um and fraudulent contracts and he's forged uh staff signatures.
>> He he obtained some of these.
>> As far as we know, Reckless Ben did not forge any signatures. They did present some staff members with a contract that the staff member then signed, not realizing what the contract said. And that may be a whole different issue because that could be potentially what's known as fraud in the inducement where you serve someone with a contract and get them to sign it under false pretenses. That may be an issue, maybe it's not. But what it is not is fraudulent forged signatures. He's been f filing fictitious or or like um uh other types of things with uh like Marian County, you know, like small claims court trying to just >> like create.
>> So that was not fictitious. He did file lawsuits. They were actual lawsuits.
They are actively going on now. They've all been stayed until September, but there are actual small claims cases uh brought by Reckless Ben against Joshua Johnson. So, no, they're not fictitious.
>> But at this point, I I just need some information so I can tell our staff what is going on because if I need to go and get some of my staff armed so that he can't threaten them, >> that's what I need to do. But >> if he needs to get some of his staff armed, >> one of the dispatchers made a note here saying that you were going to shoot someone.
>> I said if they try to break into my house.
>> Okay.
>> Why would he need to arm his staff?
This whole dispute is over a set of Legos that was placed on consignment in one of his stores and he has not been paid for those sets or had the sets returned to him. Why would Ammon McNeff need to arm his employees? There's no actual extortion here. There's simply an activist journalist trying to get Bricks and Minigs to do the right thing. This is just pure gaslighting of the police to try to get them to move and act on his behalf. He's trying to deputize and weaponize the police. Yet another police agency, this time in Oram to get them to go after Reckless Ben.
None of these things are going to hold up when he has to face a deposition in this case or when he has to testify in front of a jury. The jury is going to see through all of this because there's actual recordings of all of Reckless Ben's interactions with Bricks and Minigs and Ammon McN. And none of those interactions ever showed anything close to a threat or something that would require Ammon McNe to quote unquote arm his employees.
But I would much rather be able to tell them, hey, this case is proceeding or they're going to go find him and rearrest him because he clearly had to have violated some kind of rule by getting out of jail and immediately going to stalk our staff again. Like there's got to be something to to stop this guy from continuing to intimidate our staff.
>> Notice how Emman always jumps straight to the inflammatory language. Stalked, threatened, harassed. There's no facts to substantiate what Reckless Ben did.
And it's unfortunate that in this instance, the police officer is just simply taking him at his word instead of digging a little deeper and asking exactly what was said by Reckless Ben, what actually happened instead of just accepting the the inflammatory verb like harassment and just accepting that on face value.
>> Are are the employees that this happened to, are they working currently?
I believe so. Yes.
>> Okay.
>> And I I can come and meet you at the store if you want me to as well.
>> Okay.
>> So, what's interesting here is the police officer is about to ask for written statements from the employees.
And as part of that conversation, Ammon McN offers out of the goodness of his heart to show up there personally. And what we'll see later in this video is that Ammon McNe then is the first person to speak to the officer with those employees present in the room. He is not separated from the employees. They don't get separate statements or don't don't don't give separate statements in separate rooms like is proper procedure.
And AMT McNe just gives the story in front of the employees effectively coaching them about what to say. Like we we all sighed a big sigh of relief this morning knowing that he was arrested last night >> and then to to have this happen all over again. Like everyone's feeling some pretty pretty significant trauma that he's just not going to stop.
>> Yeah. So it's it's >> everyone's feeling some pretty significant trauma. That's an interesting statement again with the inflammatory fiery language, but there's no facts. He hasn't laid out a single fact. And if you watch my previous video analyzing Ammon McN statements, he tends to exaggerate and misstate what actually happened. He doesn't provide accurate representations. And this is all the problem with a witness like this. When you get to an actual litigation, when you get to cross-examination in a deposition or at trial, Amy McNev is going to have to justify these statements. He's going to have to justify why they felt that there was trauma based on the things we see in the video. Reckless Ben speaking to him politely, asking politely if they will return Brian Ban sells Legos and leaving when asked to. And yet he's telling the police that that he's been traumatized by that. This is the kind of gaslighting that's going to get them into trouble.
Amin McNF is trying to dep deputize and weaponize uh the ORM police force to go after Reckless Ben the same way he did with American Fork and the same way he did with Provo.
>> Um I need to contact the jail and see if they did a no contact order and find out what's going on with him. Um give me one second.
>> So we'll find out that there was not a no contact order given. And again, remember the reason why Reckless Ben was arrested in that instance. He was trying to serve legal papers on Joshua Johnson.
The police, the American Fork police confirmed that they were valid legal papers, that there was a valid legal case and they arrested him. Anyway, so that I'm sure played into whether or not a no contact order was given. When when we originally started talking, he obviously he he first started off going over like extortion. He's like, "Hey, pay me all this money and I'll leave you guys alone." Okay, >> that's not what Reckless Ben said. You saw the videos. Reckless Ben asked for the Legos to be returned to Brian Mancel. He didn't ask for $200,000.
That's not extortion. He asked for Brian Mancel's lawful property to be returned to him. That is not extortion. And these kinds of false statements are why if I was representing Ammon McNe and Bricks and Minifigs, I would not want to put Ammon McNe on the stand because he's not a credible witness. He's not a likable witness and the jury will absolutely hate this man for all of his misstatements, for all the things he said about Reckless Ben that were not true. And so far, this is just the light stuff. It gets really bad later in this video, so let's keep watching. And and so we're just like, "No, like that what you're doing is extortion. That that's illegal." He's like, "No, like I'm I'm just uh" And he just he he he acts really like cutesy like he's clearly got some form of sociopathic disorder.
>> That is the most ironic statement that Ammon McNe has made in this entire course of this issue.
the man who sued his own father calling Reckless Ben a sociopath.
That is just too rich.
>> Um because he he lies through his teeth.
He he says and does whatever he can to just get get away with whatever he wants.
>> I've got nothing. I've got nothing that it it it's just it's it's just too funny that these are the things Ammon McNe is saying. Too ironic.
>> And we'll go from there.
>> And can can the can the jail expand that no contact order?
>> No.
>> Or does that still have to go through a judge?
>> No, it's it has to go through a judge.
>> Okay. All right. Well, good to know. Um >> he seems really disappointed that his allegations would have to go through a judge in order to get the no contact order in. Probably because he doesn't want to have to file statements under penalty of perjury, which is why we have things called due process.
>> So did he come in here and like was he interrupting like the commercial business?
>> Yeah, he apparently came in and said, "Hey, we're investigative journalists."
which uh >> he's just trying to claim he's he's that so he can get away with filming in our store.
>> Right.
>> Why did Ammon McNeff answer that question? Ammon McN was not there.
Presumably, that employee standing in the doorway was there. Proper procedure would have been to separate the two and for the police officer to interview the employee separately. Instead, Ammon McNeff was just allowed to testify as to things not within his personal knowledge and essentially coach the employee on what this the party line is.
>> Right.
>> Right.
>> Yeah.
>> And and so he he he then like was attempting to interview the staff and trying to disrupt the business by like again continuing the harassment towards like extortion like hey your business stole all this money like so so you guys pay us. He always talks about it in terms of stealing money, but every video we've ever seen, Reckless Ben, talks about, "Hey, you stole Legos. You stole specific physical property." These these kinds of misstatements are what's gaslighting the police against Reckless Ben, and it will all come back to bite Ammon McNe in cross-examination.
>> All right.
>> Yeah. I mean, like this this I >> Yeah, I I get it. I I understand. Okay.
So, this is what we're going to do.
Um, okay. So, both of those guys need to get at least apply for protection orders against this guy, right? Because he shouldn't be doing this stuff, right?
You know what I mean? Um, all in >> and again, because Amma McNe has spent the better part of the last hour gaslighting this officer.
>> The officer is not investigating.
He's not probing any of the statements.
He's not testing any of the theories or allegations by Ammon McNeff and he just has already come to the conclusion that Reckless Ben is guilty.
>> So to give you the like and officer Dory has all this stuff, but long story short, we had a franchisee enter into a consignment agreement with uh some guy up in in Oregon.
>> Um and he he brought in a bunch of Lego sets. Clearly we're in the business of Legos, >> right?
>> You got a couple Legos here.
>> We do buy, sell, trade, right? so somebody can bring in their stuff. Well, he didn't want to sell it. He just wanted to her to sell it on his behalf and he, you know, they'd split some of the funds. We don't operate that way in our franchise.
>> Um, so she was not allowed to do that.
But >> that's a false statement. The franchise agreement specifically and expressly says that consignment services are allowed and that the franchisee can enter into them. He's just lying to the police officer.
>> She did it anyways. And so she then started selling his stuff without our knowledge. And then she wasn't like allegedly, we're still digging through it, but allegedly she didn't pay him.
>> Okay.
>> So then she stopped paying us cuz we're the franchiseor. I'm with the corporate offices. So she stopped paying her royalties and then she said that she was going to be moving to Ireland and was abandoning the store.
>> That's not at all what had happened. And you can go back and listen to the audio recordings that Crystal Law and Ben Gorman made with Kai Mallister where they said they were moving to Spain, not Ireland, and that they wanted to sell the franchise. They weren't abandoning anything. He's just lying to manipulate this police officer.
>> So, we're like, "Okay, we're going to terminate your franchise agreement because we were looking to do that anyways because you've stopped paying us." And then like a little bit of like she just kind of became, you know, like combative with that whole process even though she said she was gonna abandon the store.
>> How did she become combative with the process? She left peacefully. She left her poor bird behind. And we don't ever know what happened to that bird.
How was she combative? He just He's just winding up this officer. He's just gaslighting again to deputize the police and weaponize them against Reckless Ben to to inject so much bias against Reckless Ben that the police don't think twice about going out and trying to arrest him.
>> She leaves and then she's like, "Oh, by the way, I've got this consignment thing." And we're just like, "Okay, we don't know what you're talking about."
>> That's not how it happened. She told them about the consignment agreement before she left. And that's on camera.
lie after lie after lie.
>> The guy shows up a couple days later, completely different guy. His name's like he's like, "You guys have a bunch of my stuff. Give it back to me right now." We're like, "What are you?"
>> And yet, when he met with Reckless Ben, he told Reckless Ben he didn't know who Brian Mancel was.
>> So clearly he knew about Brian Mancel when he is talking to the police right now. The bigger problem though is that his story changes so much. talking about and he's like, I I gave this store all this money and like all these things and we're like, we have no idea.
>> I gave this store all this money. No, he gave the store Lego sets to sell on consignment. Those are his sets.
Remember when Ammon McNeff went on public media and said that they are doing everything they can to make Brian Mancel whole? Remember when they issued press releases after press releases saying they wanted to work with Brian Mancel?
This is this just shows that he's just lying. He was lying to the public over and over again.
>> What are you talking about? Like if you've done something with with the former owner, send us some documentation. We'll we'll help go through this stuff. He's like no, give me back my stuff right now. And we're like dude like you got to go. Yeah.
>> Like >> and one more point here. Ammon McNe wasn't here for any of this stuff. He's he's relying on the hearsay of Josh Johnson and Brandon Best and whoever else to relay this information to the police. And I'm willing to bet that Ammon McNev never did anything to verify the accurateness or the truthfulness of the things he was told because we saw in the Coffeezilla video that they themselves were caught red-handed having made statements that were just proven to be false. They said there was no U-Haul.
Yes, there was a U-Haul. They said that there was only $5,000 worth of sets.
Turns out it was a lot more than that because they just didn't bother to check the safe. So, he doesn't know what he's talking about. He wasn't there. And yet, he speaks so definitively about this stuff as if he knows and he just doesn't. And that's the big problem.
>> All that stuff's happening up in Salem.
They then vandalize the store. Uh the police are called out there. All this.
>> Notice he just says they vandalized the store. He doesn't explain what it is.
They put up a sign that blocked the store sign. It's not proper. Shouldn't have done that. But we're talking about a sign that could be taken down anytime you could take it down. We're not talking about graffiti or broken windows or something like that.
>> But during all the stuff with Salem, they started threatening to kill some of the staff.
>> Where's the evidence of that? We've we heard that from Josh Johnson. There's never been any evidence of that. He's like they were threatening to kill staff. Reckless Ben, as far as we know, never did any of that stuff.
>> And so they were just like, "Hey, if you don't, we're gonna we're gonna kill you if you don't give this guy his money back." And all this other stuff and like all these things. And so we're like, "Dude, like you guys have to go through the appropriate legal channels. This guy has nothing to do with it other than >> except we saw in Reckless Ben's part one that Josh Johnson explicitly offered to return the Lego sets. He said he was going to return them to Reckless Ben.
Ammon McNeff's story is not consistent with the recording and the recorded evidence because he doesn't know. That doesn't just make him a a dislikable witness. He's got no credibility. The jury is not going to believe a word this man says because he he has no credibility. Whether you consider it lying or just accepting the false statements of his subordinates without testing whether they're the truthfulness of them. Either way, you just can't believe a a single thing that comes out of this man's mouth.
>> That's what we're dealing with is a guy who like honest to goodness, he's a sociopath. Okay. As we've done some additional like uh searches on him, >> he has like it appears that a relative of him of his cuz he's originally from Ohio and then he moved to LA. uh some relative of his with the same name that like based on what we can piece together was uh like convicted of like child or child some of these other types of things. Th >> this is just an outrageous allegation here. Totally outrageous. First of all, the man who's accusing Reckless Ben of stalking is doing some really strange, suspicious research of his own that feels just creepy to me. But these are just wild allegations, wild accusations, totally improper. The man has no rails.
He's willing to say anything about Reckless Ben. And this is just totally beyond the pale.
>> So there's a very real chance that he may have been abused as a child, but that set him through a mental disorder kind of.
>> So now according to Ammon McNaf, the apparent authority on Reckless Ben's past. Reckless Ben was supposedly abused as a child and therefore has a mental disorder that's turned him into a sociopath who will then harass and stalk people around him. You know, there's a principle called AAM's razor. The simplest answer is usually the right one. To me, the simplest answer is that Brian Vancel offered up Lego sets to be sold on consignment. He wasn't paid for all of it. He didn't have his sets returned, and he needs to be made whole.
That's the simplest answer. Now we're drifting into territory where reckless Ben was abused as a child and turned him into a malicious sociopath.
This is crazy. It's totally crazy. It's just like when they said that there was no U-Haul and then when confronted with the actual photograph of the U-Haul, suddenly Amma McNe has this wild wild story about how a U-Haul was being used to tow a trailer and move around to here and there and the other place. None of it makes any sense. And more importantly, Amma McNe wasn't there for any of it. He doesn't know. He doesn't know what happened. He just makes this stuff up or he takes the word of one of his subordinates who frankly can't be trusted. And now he's doing frankly significant levels of opposition research on Reckless Ben. Why? when this man should be running a business when his franchises are he's spending half of his franchisees marketing budget actually doing marketing but instead what he's doing is spending untolds amounts of money doing you know probably hiring a private investigator to get this information doing opposition research on reckless Ben >> we know this guy's a sociopath and so we're we are very afraid for our staff we've got franchises from all sorts like all over the country right now that are training >> we know that he's a sociopath and we're afraid for our staff. Why? Because he's come to your stores and politely asked you to return the the Lego sets that belong to Brian Mancel. The very Lego sets that your own staff members said that they would return to him but then said that they wouldn't. That said don't exist but then do exist. Said it's only 5,000 but then it's three or four times that. Who are the sociopaths here >> in here? And these guys coming in, they've threatened people before like and and like they're they're showing up at houses clearly. They were they were trespassed yesterday and they're right back. They don't care about the law.
Right. Right.
>> And that's that's what what makes us very scared is because again like do I and and I'm I'm kind of asking a serious question. In your opinion, would you go get a shotgun and bring it in the store?
Ammon McNeff is asking a police officer if he should get a shotgun. That is wild.
nothing we have seen in any of the footage, whether it's security footage from the Bricks and Mini Fig store itself or Reckless Benz video footage or the body cam footage of the police have given anyone any reason to realistically or reasonably believe that anyone's safety was in jeopardy.
This is just nonstop gaslighting. It's totally inappropriate.
>> My arms tie just >> Were you the one that escorted him out earlier?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay, perfect. Can I just get your ID? I just I have to attach you to the to the report.
>> Yeah, let me grab my keys. I got to find them.
>> No, you know what? Don't you don't got to do that. Let me just get your name.
>> So, what are we not seeing here? We're not seeing this police officer actually take a witness statement from the only person with actual personal knowledge of what happened here. The only actual witness to what allegedly happened in the store. The police officer has spent all of his time talking with Amma McNe about how Reckless Ben's a sociopath, how he was abused as a child, how they might need to go get a shotgun. The officer is just asked for the ID. He hasn't actually asked this guy what has happened.
>> We freaked a few.
>> Yeah, it's you know potential uh what they did today. I am going to file for commercial obstruction which is a class A misdemeanor right away.
>> Okay.
>> Uh the stalking case is going to have to be followed up on. So, without looking at any video camera footage other than I guess a little bit on that guy's cell phone with no audio, without interviewing any witnesses, without reading any witness statements, he's already going to push commercial obstruction. This is the result of the non-stop gaslighting. The consequence of this reckless Ben assuming he prevails in the criminal cases, he's gonna be able to go after Amna McN for a lot of damages over all of this for these kinds of false arrests, these false charges that are being trumped up based on all this gaslighting. But Reckless Ben has to win the criminal cases first. So, what did we see with this body cam footage? What are my thoughts? Well, bottom line is I think it just adds more ammunition to the potential lines of cross-examination and deposition cross-examination against Ammon McNeff.
He said a lot of the same things we saw before about the extortion and the threat, none of which has ever been substantiated.
But now he's taken it to a whole new level by saying that Reckless Ben is a sociopath, accusing him of being abused as a child, accusing him of being associated with others in his family that committed child abuse, saying that they're all so threatened and they're so fearful that maybe they should buy a shotgun and arm their employees. I mean, just going off the rails. This is at its core a dispute about the ownership of some Lego sets.
And while I don't necessarily agree with everything Reckless Ben has done in his videos, it also doesn't rise to the level that Ammon McNeff is taking it to here. This is someone who is so willing to be aggressive in his litigation tactics, in his legally mind protection schemes that he he's lost sight of the big picture. You have a man who came to your stores to try to sell his Legos. He hasn't been paid, but your business was enriched through what he did. Make the man whole. It's so much easier, so much less expensive to just make the man whole. All of this would have been prevented if they had just sat down with Brian Mancel, really sat down with him, not the lip service that Ammon McNe is giving, but if they really sat down, did a proper inventory, and tried to figure out the solution, but they didn't do that. I think at the end of the day, we all need to be asking ourselves, why won't bricks and minifigs just take this the easy way out, the common sense solution? There's probably a reason for that. So, that's it for today. I hope you found um my reactions to this body cam footage in entertaining, educational, or informative. And if you did, please drop a like, please drop a subscribe or a hype. And if also if you've got any questions for me, please put them in the comments as well. I do my best to go through all of the the comments. I do my best to answer as many questions as I have. And I also typically do a live stream on the weekends where you can also ask any other questions. So with that, that's it for me tonight. I hope everyone's having a great day and I will talk to you soon.
Bye-bye.
