This incident exposes the systemic paranoia of institutions that weaponize law enforcement against the very people they claim to serve. It is a damning indictment of how racial profiling remains an unwritten policy behind the facade of corporate professionalism.

>> Wow. a while, guys. And and here's the story, guys. This here has been going on for a minute now. Um this young man was out there banking, waiting at the bank and over in Tampa, man, and they just at Chase Bank and somebody the employees and call the police on him. And I think this is pretty well it it's a trip to me. Um the way he's being handled right here, I just have a problem with it.
Reality TV, you there?
>> I'm here. I got a problem, too. I I'm looking at the as a white uh police officer approached the car. Oh, you know, you just hanging out here. Uh and he's pointing at the other car. He pulls out a lot of money. Say, "I got money, man. I'm I'm waiting. I bank here."
Yeah. Well, they concerned, you know, this is a bank, you know. Well, wait a minute. Is it because I'm black? Why are you doing this?
>> What makes black?
>> What What makes you want to run out here while I'm out here and treat men different? You know, I've >> But you can't be sitting at people stuff either. You know what I'm saying? You can't just be sitting I know he was waiting for the bank.
>> Well, it was another guy waiting too, but they didn't I don't think he was black.
>> Was he right?
>> Yeah. I don't think he was black.
>> And the brother is in a Tesla and he's in a Tesla. He's wearing a maybe a Rolex watch. He's not he's not no scrub type dude, you know.
>> And it just and and and and the police walks up. I'm just curious. I'm about to play that part. I'm just curious. What do you do? It ain't none of your damn business what I do. Really, it ain't. As long as I'm doing business, I I But I'll let you in on it. But me, I'm upset at this point because why are you trying to trying to make me look like I'm out here doing something wrong?
>> What does that matter? What does that matter what he does?
>> Exactly. And I I'm going be honest with you. I done been through [Β __Β ] like this.
Excuse my language. It kind of rubbed me the wrong way. No, I didn't I didn't had them to try to tr play games with me like this at the bank cuz they they trying to play games, you know, and they they look at you and they try to, you know, look at you as if you you looking for a problem like all bank robber. I'll give you I'll give you a hell of a scenario.
>> So expensive.
>> I'm an Airbnb in there.
>> An Airbnb in there.
>> Yes. That's right.
>> Right. But they don't even drive the cars.
>> Airbnb guy.
>> They don't they don't A lot of them they don't even drive the cars. They don't even live. So why would I look like I'm doing something wrong?
>> Cuz you're the only one sitting in the parking lot. In the back parking lot.
>> There's a guy right there sitting in front.
>> Right there. He's been waiting with me.
>> No, I didn't see I can't see him from here. But >> that blue Tesla. That's all they said.
>> Right. Come on. Like and I got this is my bank. This the only bank I come to to do like and I'm coming to withdraw a lot of money.
>> All right.
>> That's crazy though. I couldn't believe it.
>> They were just concerned. That's why >> when I seen them walk by the first time, I was like >> who walked by? when the employees because they these are all their cars and they were just coming by. Yeah. And they were like kind of looking like what what is a black guy doing sitting here in front of the bank. You think I'm casing the bank out?
>> It has nothing to do with race.
>> I mean absolutely >> individual sitting in the parking lot.
>> I'm from Tampa. I'm from Atlanta originally. So >> So what what does that mean?
>> When I came to Tampa and I seen like just how it's different.
>> What's different about it?
>> There's just a lot of prejudice.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> All right.
>> Yeah.
>> All right, bud.
>> Yeah, no problem, man. I appreciate >> Yeah. Let them know that I'm coming in to make a deposit, a withdrawal, a big withdrawal.
>> That's crazy.
>> So, you know, the officer, what do you do? I'm I'm being there and and it's like you having to plead your case just I mean, you ain't going to nobody else asking them. And it's just a it's it's a horrible situation, man, when people stereotype you. You know, me being a business owner, I've been sitting in front of my store and police come up and draw down on me just because I'm sitting out there and they they've been called and I'm sitting out there in front of my store and next thing you know, they got guns pulled and they they doing everything they can to stop whoever from doing something and I'm the wrong guy and it's a guy I just talked to up the street and but I was in uh in different clothing and it's like, wow, man, like they don't they don't they don't they just see us see us as a color and they they stereotype us. And I'm going tell you something, reality TV, your sons and daughters, make sure you educate them on how to deal with these police because these police are serious.
>> Oh yeah, we don't play over here.
>> And I'm tripping off of it because here here it is again, reality TV. Um, I was sitting in my store. My kids was in the truck with me.
Two masked men come up, right?
They go inside of the check cashing place trying to rob the check cashing place. They're masked on on they all white. They're all white. Mommy masked up.
One at the door, the other one at the window. Give me all the money. Give me all the money.
I'm sitting there looking at him.
But my kids in the truck with me. So when they run out, they didn't end up getting no money. They run out and they run around the building. And you know how my story is. I went around and looked being nosy. Me and the kids. I was, "Oh, okay." I see them get back into a cougar, some little old car.
And I said, "Damn." So I go back and sit in front of my store. The lady runs out of check cashing place trembling. Oh, because I've been there longer than I've been there, you know, they still been there 20 some 20ome years now. I said, man, that's a Did they get anything?
Like, no, they couldn't get nothing because that that thick glass is right there. You can't get nothing out of there. And it was like it was a dumb move for it was a dumb move. I don't know who thought that out. But soon as uh the lady came and talked to the police, I tried to tell the police, "Hey, you know, cuz I got cameras all the way around the building." He told me, "Get back. Move back. You don't need to be here. Just step back." I said, "Okay."
He was acting real weird with me. He wouldn't look at me. Wouldn't acknowledge me. Then I guess the lady at check cash has place told him who I was.
And then I had cameras around the whole building. So then I'm sitting behind my counter behind my cash register. Next thing I know, he walks in the store.
Hey, could I talk to you for a second? I said, hell no. What the hell you want to talk to me for? I tried to talk to you out there. you get your ass out of my store. And I told him, get get out of my store because I was like, "No, get out.
Take your ass out my store." And um next thing you know, um I'm tripping off of it. I said, "You you you got to you you he sends the other person, the other guy that's with with him, hey, he he just want to talk to." I said, "No, when I wanted to talk to him, he didn't want to talk to me. He thought he tried to play me." Well, they're just trying to say it was two black guys that broke in and and and that that tried to take try to break the this I'm like, "What?"
So, I'm sitting there looking at them.
I said, "Man, this is crazy."
Next thing you know, they they they they got a report out going that two black guys try to run in the check cashing place.
I took the camera footage, showed to my homeboy who was a detective for me and say it wasn't no two black dude. It was two white dudes a Mexican them white and black them that's white uh skin that or or that's clear skin. That's not black skin. But that lady that was in there, the Hispanic lady automatically assumed it was two black dudes. And it was not two black dudes. It was two Hispanic either white dudes. But I had the information. They just they they were just playing games with me. So I started acting ass with them. I don't need this, bro. Cuz I already know what y'all want to do. Y'all want to put this stuff on us. But it ain't on us on this one. So the thing is it's not always us. So man, that's all I want to say. I'm going to get off my soap box. But guys, they the Chase Bank they is >> so expensive.

>> Yeah.
>> All right, bud.
>> Yeah, no problem, man. I appreciate >> Yeah. Let them know that I'm coming in to make a deposit, a withdrawal, a big withdrawal.
>> That's crazy.
>> Being black, being harassed is crazy. I got to say that before I get off here.
And teach your young children, man. The black children, that you you got to be careful out here in these streets, man.
You got to be careful at all cost. And that police officer, he was already uptight when he walked up to that door.
I'mma get off of it. I had to go back in again. Reality TV. I still thinking about it. Yeah. But anyway, um anyway, >> you said you going to let it go and you went right back.
>> Yeah, I know it. I supposed to let it go. I >> Yeah, they don't mess with you today. I think >> Well, it just pissed me off because I know already that our children are out here and they got uphill battle. You thought we'd be a little further along than this by now, you know.
>> I don't know.
>> Yeah, it's pretty bad.
>> Spreading our faith the whole time. They just do it a different way. That's all.
