In IPO trading, oversubscription serves as a key indicator of demand, where higher oversubscription ratios (e.g., 10x) indicate greater investor interest and typically result in higher opening prices, even when individual allocations are smaller; successful IPO trading requires understanding market hype and celebrity influence rather than relying solely on financial metrics, as demonstrated by the SpaceX IPO where the stock opened at $150 (above the $135 allocation price) and rose to $177, allowing traders to profit by selling quickly after the initial price surge.

I made $100k+ on SpaceX in 30 minutes...
Added:All right, guys. Welcome.
So, today Sorry my hair looks [ __ ] crazy, but today we are going to be talking about SpaceX, okay? So, those of you who follow me on Instagram, AFIC trades on all platforms, um, TikTok, whatever. I spoke about the SpaceX IPO specifically because I was going to buy a big position in it, right?
And why is that? Aldo, why would you buy a position on SpaceX when it's overvalued?
Guys, one thing we've learned this year or the past year as a whole, we've learned that numbers don't even matter right now, okay? The market is booming to stocks are booming to places we never even fathom. You know, who would have thought Elon Musk would even be close to a trillion dollars and people are worried about the revenue, the this, make sure you have to understand that the market moves with hype, right? If somebody's interested in something, if somebody's like, oh, like, creates a demand for something, it doesn't matter. If somebody's Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, the most innovative man in the world, right?
You can't say that there isn't a whole cult, a Tesla cult behind this guy.
No matter what he releases. He could say he's releasing the next, uh, uh, farming instrument and people would be like, what the [ __ ] That's an instant $500 billion company because it's Elon Musk, okay? So, I understand the people that said, you know, that took conscience and said, guys, but the, you know, the the the financials just it's it's trading at a the 100X evaluation, whatever. I understand that and that's great. However, you have to understand the market, okay?
The only reason why you why you got scared out of that is because you don't understand the market. But, for example, I've been trading IPOs for a very long time, so I understand what went on there, okay? I understand the hype. I understand that listen SpaceX is an Elon Musk company, the most hyped, the biggest IPO of all time. How am I not going to go all in on allocations? I'm not going all in in buying shares. I'm going all in on allocations. What's the difference?
Although, what is an allocation?
An allocation is when you submit your kind of your buying offer to kind of like apply to buy SpaceX, right?
So, you're practically telling your brokerage, "Guys, I have a million dollars here. I want this million dollars, and I'm showing you guys my interest with this million dollars. So, please film fill me, you know, fill me with my shares something reasonable to my million-dollar position."
So, the brokerage is probably going to come in obviously, you know, if the the news was out that SpaceX was four times oversubscribed, right? So, what does that mean?
There's I'd say there's 100 million shares. There's 400 million shares in demand. So, they don't have enough to supply, right? So, I already know I'm not going to get filled my million dollars, obviously, right? So, I'm going all in on something, I'm going all in knowing that I'm not going to get fully filled, okay?
So, I ended up I getting filled on well, like 20% maybe, 30%, which was a lot of money, which was a lot of money.
Um I'll play the video here for you guys in a little bit. Um I kind of have like the whole rundown how how I did it, but I ended up getting filled, and listen, to me this was not a long-term play, okay? I completely understand if you you see this as a long-term play, and I have nothing against you. Um obviously, I would put reasonable stops probably at break even at this point or a little above break even just so you make some money. However, um obviously, SpaceX ended up booming.
Uh we saw a high of 220 200 and almost 225 dollars on this stock, right? IPO guys allocation, just so you know, was at 135 right here.
This opening wick right here is the opening candle.
135.
At open, however, it opened at 150.
So, you could have bought at 150 right when it opened. Like instantly, you could have bought, right? That's already publicly traded.
Obviously, you know, on the day till it went to 177, pulled back a little bit, ended up crushing the numbers.
Um however, I sold right here.
Me personally, I sold right in this range.
Um like right here.
Okay, the next big question. Aldo, how did you sell? How do you sell? Your brokerages won't allow you to sell.
They're going to hold your money hostage. No, guys. That's not how it works, okay?
A brokerage will tell you, "Listen, Aldo, I'm going to give you these 5,000 shares. However, you have to understand, if you do sell these early, I might ban you. You got to read the terms of agreement. I might ban you, or I might suspend you. I might etc. I might I might I might I might." Guess what? I've been doing it for 3 4 years now. I have never received a warning on my account, never received a "You can't trade IPOs with us for 5 days, for 10 days." Never, okay? I sell whenever I want, however much I want, okay? So, that's a huge misconception that you have to understand.
Now, how to pick the right IPO? That's a whole 'nother ballgame cuz because you you need to really understand the hype.
So, that's kind of that's how like how I say like you have to understand the market. You have to understand this is one of the biggest IPOs ever, the most hyped up IPO ever.
And that's it.
But the one thing you really want to focus on is oversubscribed because that's like your indicator, right? So, that's like your your resistance line, your support levels. It's like you're trading. This is literally telling you how much demand there is for this IPO before it even opens. So, now you know.
Um let's say uh Discord releases an IPO, right? Um they say uh 10x oversubscribed. There's 10x as much as demand that there is for shares. So, you're going to get filled a lot less allocation, but the opening price will probably be much higher percentage-wise, you get what I'm saying.
Um, but let me pull up this video for you guys on Instagram. If you didn't If you didn't watch it, it's a pretty good video.
I have to be biased, but let me show you guys.
So, the video is right here. Okay, here let's play right here.
So, I'm allocated here 105k, right? And then I am allocated here I have 442,000.
It's all real [ __ ] It's a real [ __ ] app. Can't fake this [ __ ] Look.
And then Robinhood at 105k. So, here I'm just showing my allocations. I'm [ __ ] hyped. We're up.
Open at 150.
That's what it opened at 150. See, it's starting to climb up at 153. All right, guys, it's starting to climb up. Let's [ __ ] go.
We're up We're about to be up 30,000 on the day. On just Robinhood, guys. All right, guys, we're about to break 160.
We're breaking 160 right now. Come on.
We're about to be up 40,000 right now, more or less. Right here.
Positions?
Wait, where?
>> 84 84 >> Oh, 84,000, perfect. 84,000 on the day.
He's up 99,000 on the day.
Robinhood 34,000. He's up 40,000. Bro, and everybody was saying What were they saying? Don't slam. Don't get into Space Oh. It's the best.
And that's literally how easy it was. It was literally 1 2 3. You guys saw it right there. That was probably like a 20-30 minute video, um, just clipped into a small bits. But, that is how I got that my mentality was with that Space X IPO. Um, if you guys have any questions, go ahead, you know, you can go ahead tell me whatever.
Um, but practically that's how it went.
So, that's kind of like my IPO game. Um, if you want to learn more about this, just comment down below. I'll answer any questions. Uh, DM me on Instagram. Make sure you're following there and my TikTok because I talk a lot about, you know, this kind of stuff.
