Googling What You Already Believe and Finding Wrong People Is Not Research

[00:00:01]seeking out and finding sites, quotes, references online that will confirm your already existing biases is not doing research. When I go to look up a story in order to talk about it, I go looking for the opposite of what I think on that subject so I can see if what I'm hearing about it is true or not. That's not what MAGA does. MAGA goes looking for confirmation bias. They seek out similar-minded people who are going to tell them that what they're feeling, what they're thinking, what they're what they're asserting is the truth, even if it isn't.

He clearly googled I'm so high me and God dabbing what he already thought so that he could find someone else who was wrong who had posted that on the internet and screenshotted that and sent it to me.

They Google the answer that they're looking for so they can find 50 other wrong idiots and be like see this is what everybody's saying. This is the information that I that I thought was correct. It is correct.

No matter what it is, if it's stats about states, if it's stats about inner cities, if it's information they heard about a foreign country, they go looking for the stuff they've already been told. It's already in their head instead of going, "Well, wait a minute.

[00:02:53]He's disputing this. So, let me look up what he's saying, which is the opposite of what I'm saying, to see if there's if there's any kind of ability to do that."
