Lake Vostok is a subglacial lake located in Antarctica, approximately 2 miles beneath the ice sheet. Discovered through radar technology, this lake has remained isolated for about 15 million years with no sunlight or outside influence. Despite being covered in ice, the lake remains liquid due to heat from the Earth's core. Scientists have found unknown bacteria and organisms living there that derive energy from chemical reactions with rocks rather than sunlight, making it a potential model for understanding how life might exist on other planets or in extreme environments.

Monday Muse
Added:into the water where the soul remembers all the burning dust.
Light falls on the ocean. Silent shadows of a waking dream. I hear voices from long ago.
I've went through winds unknown.
Take me deeper from the shore to the place I was before. Mystic ocean gave me away.
Go through me on the water. Sacred signs to your daughter post mask and the world is gone.
Only the ocean carries on.
Take me deeper from the shore to the place I was before. Through the mist and ancient fire.
Set my spirit on fire.
Mystic Ocean flow through me.
Ocean of dreams. Remember me.
All the water to the sea.
Take me home.
Take me home.
Take me home.
>> I was going to try to get fancy there, but I was like, "No, I better keep it simple. Keep it simple today."
Some days it's best do that.
Welcome to the Monday news everybody. I hope everybody's having a good day. So far so good, right? Good week, a start to the week. Hadn't really started. It's kind of officially started. Um I'm glad everybody's here that's here.
I'm going to check in with the chat.
Let's see. Hopefully y'all can hear me and everything's okay. When I first signed in, uh, I didn't think my microphone was working, so I signed back out and signed back in. So, hopefully it's all good now. Hey, Louis. Hey, Pooky. Melissa, Justine, Boomer.
Um, let's see. Hey, Mary. Uh, Mary Gilbert, thank you for being here. Let's see what I want to watch.
What? traveling to how do I pronounce that? Oi Oki Chobi.
Reception is bad. Almost.
Well, you have a I hope you have a safe uh safe travels, Mary.
And thank you for listening.
If you can if you can hear me, if you're getting reception. Um let's see who else already said hello to y'all. Hello, AutoCAD. Thank you for being here, Mountain Man.
Let's see.
There's a pole vault sighting. Hope you're having an okay, a good day, preferably, but we'll take okay at this point, right? Let's see.
Okay. No, no trolling. No trolling.
You're not allowed to troll today, Pvalt. Give me Give me a a break.
Let's see.
Remember that old commercial?
Give me a break. Give me a break. Break me off with a piece of that KitKat bar.
And then I heard horrible things about Kit Kat bars one day and I was like, "Oh my god, I'm never eating one of those again." Not that I eat much candy, but uh let's see.
Yeah, I heard like horrible things about those Kit Kat bars and I was one day and I was like, I am never eating one of those ever, ever again, ever, ever. I wish that was I wish that was the worst thing I heard, Justine. That it wasn't real chocolate.
I wish that was the worst thing.
Okay. Um, we're going to just we're going to just jump right on in.
What's your high? What's your low? What happiness? Just tell me.
Yay.
Okay, we are always start out with high low. So, if anybody wants to share your hy low in the chat, uh feel free. We're just all hanging out, talking, visiting with each other. Um just a way to have conversation, you know, if you want to just talk and hang out with people. That's what we do here.
And um talk about our lives sometimes, you know. Um, so even though we're may not actually be in the same room with each other, you know, it's kind of like that, right? Supposed to kind of be like that. So, um, let's see. So, try to like do this real quick. So hard to do the low part sometimes, right? Um, part of me was like, don't even say it cuz last week I like Last week was a mess. Um, you know, I think I'm just going to talk about my high because I don't think I can get through the low part. Um, so the high is going to be that I'm going to have a good week this week.
I'm going to have a good week and we are all going to have a good week this week.
That's what the high is. Uh, and I'll share something funny with y'all. Um, redirect, redirect. Um, so I've had this chicken that is salty sally and she's been um broody and it she's I guess it's not really funny I guess to y'all if you're not here but she's just been driving me crazy and just kind of it's been kind of silly cuz she's just like she thinks you know chickens go through this and it's obviously it's it's nature it's natural cuz like when they have male chickens around roosters um They are supposed to sit on their eggs uh you know and do that whole thing you know to have babies. So that's why they do become broody. But I don't have a rooster anymore. So there's basically no reason for them to do this even though their bodies want to do this. And if if they're taking care of babies, chickens, little baby chicks, um it's okay and it's just something that they do and go through. But it's kind of it's it's real taxing on their bodies, you know, like if they're not there's not actual babies to take care of, it's very taxing on them. And so like because they don't eat or drink very much at all, they just sit on these eggs constantly, which you know is a good thing if they're taking care of their babies. But if there's no babies, you're like, "Look, you just you got to stop. You got to stop. You got to you got to live life and eat and drink and go on." So, um, yeah. So, Salty Sally has been going through this broody process and she's been driving me nuts and she like wouldn't get off the eggs and, um, I'm just like constantly having conversations with her going, "Okay."
And I took the eggs away, you know, even. So, like I for a while I kind of let her do it just because I felt like I should. And then finally I was like took the eggs away and then she was still getting in the crate slash nest and she was still sitting there like for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and um so I think I might have broken her to where she's finally like okay like she's come to the realization to you know stop doing that. So, um, cuz I just worry about my chickens, you know, cuz like they when their crowns get kind of like light. They're supposed to be a kind of a real dark red when they're real healthy. And I just hate when they when they start to, you know, not get a lot of their nutrients and stuff. It starts to get lighter and change color like now this doesn't look as healthy.
And she was getting that way. And I was like, "No." I was like, "You're not going to make yourself sick over nothing. You get off those eggs. Get out of that crate and stop. Stop it. just died. So, I've been dealing with that.
Um, so it's not super funny, but it's just been she's just been so silly.
She's a silly chicken.
She's also the one I used to call hedge chicken. Um, she had escaped a long time ago and um, she went into our front, this is kind of funny. She uh, Pvall didn't think it was funny. Um, but she had gotten to our front hedges of our house and all these hedges that go down the front and um, she got back there and um, we couldn't get her out.
We could not get her out and like it was we for like months for like months we couldn't get this chicken out of the the hedges. She was living in there and if you tried to get her out like we tried everything. We tried if if you tried to chase her out she'd just run back you know somewhere else. We tried getting people to help and you know different she it was impossible. We couldn't get her. And so we had this chicken living in our hedges. And then to make it worse, to make it worse, like during the day when we would be at work, we'd leave you because we obviously we had to go to work. Um she would wander or she'd wander around like she'd go to our neighbors yard across the street and like hang out in their hedges sometimes and she she's like visiting people. My neighbors always like, you know, your chickens in my hedges again and it's of course she's being sweet about it. Oh, it's no big deal, but just letting you know. Yeah. And so we went through that for a long time. Uh, I guess it was last year, I think some at some point, and I I was taking videos of it, daily videos, talking about, you know, what's the hedge chicken doing, you know? So, yeah, that's the same one. She's she's a mess.
So, um, yeah, let's see.
Um, Pooky, did I say hello to you? Hello, Pooky. And hello Sparky. Hey Nene, thank you for being here.
And by the way, that last song that I played was my new song called Tea with Culu.
And um is that Michael Songs? That say Michael Songs. Hey, thank you for lurking and thank you to all the lurkers that are here. Hey Jeremy, thank you for being here. Yes. And thank you to, like I said, thank you to uh all my lurkers. I know not everybody can, you know, be in here chatting and stuff.
You don't want, you know, not everybody has time to do that. So, if you're lurking and listening, I appreciate you.
Thank you so much. And for people that are here and chatting, appreciate you, too. Um, but yeah, so tea with Culu, like I was uh tried to talk about it a little bit last time. I don't know if I actually got through it because I was crying all the show last show. Um, but I can't remember, so I'm just going to say it again. So, um, yeah. So, I had a dream about that, uh, I was being called into the ocean. And so, I walked into the ocean and, um, went down and there was all these like glowing signs everywhere and I swam to the bottom and Culu was down there and which is you could just think of a big octopus if you don't know what that is. Um but in my dream he was like like this all knowing allseeing entity whatever you want to call it and um but he was kind of like like this is where you're from you know like from a past life or something I don't know it's it's a dream so um but he was just like you know you need this is where you belong and this is you know where you're supposed to be and I was just like well you know like let's have a talk let's we just had conversations and Um, we're just like talking about everything in the world and we're hanging out at the bottom of the ocean having tea at this little table and we swam around the ocean too and kind of explored and it was beautiful and I could breathe underwater and um but I was like askulu uh you know like is can you know can all these problems of the world be fixed you know and because I really need to go back and maybe I could help people or whatever and he was kind of like you know it's better you should just stay down here you know in a nutshell and I was like oh that's great and but I was like you know what it is beautiful down here and I love it and it was just like this is where I belong and I in my dream I was like okay so I just stayed down there and it was a beautiful life so yeah anyway kind of a I know it's a weird dream but so that was tea with Culu my new song.
And I did make another song last week, but I just I'm pretending like that song didn't happen. And eventually I'll uh may sing it and talk about it, but not yet. It's going to take a while.
So, um let's see. I'm going to get into another song, but let me just check in with the chat real quick.
Um let's see. Make sure I haven't missed anybody or anything.
Hey, Fair Bricks. Thank you for being here.
Thank you for being here.
Is there a bird finger sighting?
Yeah, there you go. Boomer.
See Just checking to see if I missed anybody.
I try to say hello to everybody.
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah, there was some cookie. There was some funny funny moments.
Funny moments. And then uh and then she started like not only was she was too quick to catch. Going back to the salty sally chicken we were talking about hedge chicken. Not only was she too hard to catch but and too fast but and she would zip through the hedges in and out through the hedges. So and obviously we can't go in and out through the hedges. So it was just like she would like run through the hedges and then run to the end of the hedges and go back through the hedges. But um not only that, but when we were trying to corner her where she couldn't do that, there goes my headphones. Um she would uh at one point she started to fly like an eagle.
She was like literally when she was trapped and couldn't escape, she would literally fly like an eagle. Like I mean I've seen eagles don't didn't fly as good as that chicken did. And um yeah, so it was that was some crazy times. Crazy times.
Let's see.
Make sure my guitar is still in tune.
Should be.
Should be, but you never know.
Okay. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good.
Yeah, I'm not gonna I may tell y'all about my low later, but I don't want to have a whole another stream where I'm just crying the whole time like last week. So, Remember when we were young, words flew off our tongues.
You shine like the sun.
Every moment was lost.
Saving memories.
I'm in trees, feeling the breeze.
We were wild and free.
You see?
Thought we had it all figured out.
Cracks in the veil. What's this all about?
All I can do is shion sets in surrounded by strangers and truth.
All I ever wanted was you.
I want to feel near the you from I want to feel near you. I know cuz I don't now monsters under the bed.
They were there. I swear now only in my head it was all a game. It was just a dream.
Nothing's really as it seems.
speaking our minds and skating within us.
Wanting freedom was our only vice.
Now they had the sun and still the rain was born for his pain.
Open your eyes.
Open your eyes.
Time to stop wondering why.
Let's fly.
Set your intentions as if you were done.
Time transcends for those who have won.
We had it all figured out.
Cracks in the veil.
What's this all about?
And all I can do is shout.
Sure for those who love.
They're just visions of the sun. Just memories of the sun. Just visions of the sun. Just memories of the sun. Just vision of the sun.
Well, there's I do now. No monsters under the bed.
They were there, I swear, now just in my head.
It was all game.
It was just a dream.
Nothing's early as it seems.
That was The Great Awakening. One of my other new songs.
Hey, Jackie Sins. I hope you had a good birthday the other day.
See what?
You know, I'm not a big I I can eat asparagus. I just don't know. I'm not I'm not a huge asparagus fan.
It kind of makes your pea smell, too.
I do like Brussels sprouts, though.
I have Brussels sprouts probably twice a week, and it's they're supposed to be super super good for you.
Hello covered by CQ. I don't know if I said hello to you. In my mind I did.
Sometimes it happens. I'll see somebody in the chat and in my head I'll think, "Oh, there's so and so. Hello." Like, but I don't say it out loud. So that's why I said that's why when you hear me say I said it in my mind. That's what I mean. Like I literally did say it in my mind and then I kind of you forget like oh I didn't actually say it out loud.
You got to say it out loud. Um, let's see.
Spray bottle.
Yeah, I Yeah, I've known people that have done spray bottles with like uh olive oil and vinegar or other dressings.
Um, but you know, that's one of my favorite dressings uh that I like to make and that's super healthy is you get extra virgin extra virgin olive oil and um apple cider vinegar and like half and half and that's it's a excellent uh salad dressing and it's healthy for you too. So, and you can spray it or pour it, however you want to do it. But, by the way, Pooky, I'm I'm praying for Evil Kitty.
I'm kind of worried about the um mountain line that's in your area.
At first, I thought maybe she was an indoor cat, and I was like, "Well, at least she's inside." But then Pvalt was like, "No, she goes outside." And I'm like, uhoh. Might want to keep try to keep her inside.
Yeah, me either, Pooky.
Wished I could wished I didn't have to drive, but I do.
See?
Hello, Susan. Thank you for being here.
Let's see. Did I miss anybody else that came in?
I should use an air fryer more than I do.
Pterodactyl. Yeah, basically. That's what she was kind of like.
Melissa, did I say hello to you? I can't. My brain is so fried today, man.
So, I I'm trying I am trying to make sure I don't forget things and say hello to everybody.
See Okay. Hello, mine.
Thank you for being here.
Okay.
Oh, I didn't put that on my foot.
Hang on. I don't know if I should do that. I better not do that.
Okay, hang on.
Put this on foot.
I'm going to try to do it with one hand.
Okay.
There we go. Okay, now we're back.
Forgot to put on my little my little foot tambourine. I like that stupid little thing.
Okay, I really uh I was going to fixing to play my down south song and I thought I could use some I could use some Down South meaning I could use to like take a road trip, drive to the woods or take a take a road trip and go to the ocean. Just just and it wasn't that long ago that I went. It was a what is this June? So it was April, you know, that we went. But I need to go back.
I need to go back. I need a vacation.
Can I say I need a vacation when I was just there in April? That's I guess that's not very long. I still need to go back.
It's a Bigfoot song.
I want to head down south, feel the wind. I want to head down south, feel my back against the wall. I want to go down south, feel the woods are calling. I want to go down south, smash my glass against the wall.
How did we get here? Flies in the blue year after year. How did we get here?
Flies in the blue. Hold my beer.
75 is fun. People find the stars. Sit around the fire and be How did we get here? Flies in the glue.
Year after year. How did we get here?
flies in the blue. My dear 35 in don't talk about the good how good the sharks have been.
I want to go down south feel the salt and call. I want to go down south. Feel my back against the wall. I want to go down south. Feel the ocean calling. I want to go down south. Smash my glass against the wall.
Chasing Bigfoot through the woods. He's going to tell us something good. Down the highway to the sea.
Who will surely find a king?
I want to go down south. Feel the call.
I want to go down south. Build my back against the wall. I want to go down south. Feel the woods are I want to go down south. Smash my glass against the wall.
>> I wish at the end of that song had a glass breaking sound.
That would be good.
So it's like smash.
That would be in my mind that's what I heard. And I was like, I need a button that I can push and smash.
I'm a weirdo. I know.
And yes. Yes. Boomer and Pooky. I had to improvise a little bit. And it's it's what it is. It is what it is. They're probably like, "Wait a minute. She changed something in there in that song.
We know that song. It'll be fine. It's okay.
It's It was the Down South remix.
The remix.
You didn't know y'all were going to get remixes today, did you? Surprise.
Okay, let me make sure I haven't missed anybody coming in.
Oh no.
Oh, poor Spectrum guy. Even though I'm not a fan of them. He probably didn't deserve to get cussed out.
I mean, he's probably just doing his job, you know.
Hello, Two Yards. I can't see your name yet, but I can see people telling you hello. So yeah, I had Spectrum for years and uh I had Spectrum for years and they just finally pissed me. They well they would piss me off every once in a while and cuz they kept raising the rates and then I would have to call them and say I was going to leave and then I would always stay cuz they would lower the price which they should have done in the first place. And it just like constantly this would go on. And um anyways, finally one day finally one day um I I had enough of it cuz I think one day they just was like they were like they weren't going to lower their rates and um I said I had told them I which I told them I'd leave before in past instances and they never did. They just look like oh okay whatever. So, so I left and I went to I think it's Frontier who we have now and um they offered me a way better deal of course now they've went up a little bit but um I guess they all do that occasionally but um anyways so Frontier has been giving me a better deal and then of course now Spectrum's constantly like hey you know we'll give you a great deal. They keep saying we'll give you a great deal. I'm like, "Yeah, well, you should have did that before I left. You know, I mean, I told you I was going to leave. You didn't do now. Why you Why are you trying to make me rearrange my life now?" You know, a little too late for that. So, and I was with them for a long time. When they when I left, they I'd been with them for 20 years or something like crazy. So yeah, I'm not just in a hurry to go right back after they did that to me, even though they keep trying to say they're going to treat me right. Blah blah blah blah blah.
Let's see.
D I think I said hello to Dustin. Let's see. I said hello to two yards.
Um, just looking to see if I missed anybody or anything. Hope everybody hope everybody is having a good day. I can't talk today. Good Monday so far. We're going to have a good week, y'all.
We are not going to focus on um she been doing checking in with chat.
Yes, I've been trying to check in with chat every Thank You Bookie. Like pretty much every song.
Um I don't I'm sure I probably miss things from time to time, but I mean I'm doing the best I can.
Um, which is also a song. What is that song?
I'm doing the best I ever did. I'm doing the best that I can. What is that? Uh, I like that song though.
Oh, it's called God. It's God Smack.
That's who sings that. I like that song.
That is probably That should be my theme song today.
Let's see.
Tell them to give you five years free.
You'll consider going back. Yeah. Yeah.
I'm sure they'll jump right on that.
I'm sure they'll jump right on that.
So, for anybody that doesn't already know, we'll probably be doing our useless knowledge corner um about 2:00. That's what we normally do. And um and it and it's but at any point in time, if y'all want to drop your numbers, uh if you want to wait till closer to that time, you can if you want to. Uh, but you can drop your number in the thing and I'll put it in the coffee can and and I've already got numbers in there.
Um, what world? Already got my my numbers, my coffee can. So, if nobody does gives a number, we still got tons of numbers to pick from. Um, and we'll be doing useless knowledge later on. And we'll be talking about uh our lake of the week.
What did we do last week? Did we do Nas last week? What? I can't remember what lake we did. Last week we did.
Anyway, this week we're talking about Lake Bosto. Bosto. B A B O S T O K.
Yeah. So, after we do our useless knowledge corner, then the other part of that segment, we're going to talk about Lake Bosto. So, that is what we're going to do in a little while. Like I said, regardless of what week we have had last week, we are going to have a great week this week. It's going to be we're just going to we're going to manifest it, y'all. We're going to manifest it. It's going to be a good week.
And um we just have to think that way cuz that's it's the only way you're going to change anything. You got to change your thinking.
So you just got to what do they say? Life is uh 90% of how you react to it and 10% of what happens. And I'm not saying nothing and believe me when I say this, I'm not saying nothing bad is happening cuz thing bad things are happening. Bad things are happening. But we can all choose to react differently and change our mindset is what I'm saying. And we will have a good week. So yeah, that's what I that's what I say.
Okay. And so with that, we're going to go into my song sing because I mean that's a pretty good segway for that, right? Cuz life is so unpredictable.
Life is so unpredictable.
Never know what the day will bring.
One thing is for sure, it's always a song to sing.
Songs about beginnings, songs about the end.
Song's about heartache when you can't find a friend. So I'll sing.
I'll sing.
So I'll sing about the birth.
I'll sing about the death.
Sing about my worst day.
Don't forget that I'm your friend.
Songs about peace.
Songs about wars.
Songs about yesterday's gone.
walking through that door.
So I'll sing about good times.
I'll sing about genocide.
I'll sing about regret.
And I'm so glad that we met.
Winds of change are blowing as the music heals a heart.
Might not know where I am going while we're aart. So I'll sing.
I'll see.
I'll sing.
Oh, life is so unpredictable.
Never know what the day will bring.
One thing is for sure, it's always a song to sing.
>> So, we just got to roll with the punches, y'all.
because there's good things happening, there's bad things happening, both things happening, and we're just going to have a good week anyways. So, we're just going to roll with it. It'll be fine.
It will be fine.
I should just go right into that song next. I wasn't going to do that one next, but you know what? That is a good seg segue for It'll be fine, right?
It'll be fine.
woke up this morning.
I saw was double clock. It was blinking.
Knew that. Oops. Sorry about that. Knew there was trouble.
Earth was stinking.
Bone was dead.
Stumbled to the bathroom.
Beat made of it.
It'll be fine.
That's what they tell me. Time after time, it'll be okay.
It'll be just fine.
Trying to destroy you. Just get in line.
We're going to be okay.
These bills just keep coming.
not to work. I go my fingers cannot breathe.
Stare at the wind blowing in the snow.
Got pulled over trying to make it on time.
My rooster done.
It'll be okay.
It'll be just fine.
That's what they tell me. Time after time, you'll be okay.
It'll be just fine. One foot in front of the other and walk that line.
It'll be okay.
Long enough.
Didn't get to say goodbye.
Dad passed away in June before his time on the breaks. He contain the whole universe.
We dream just to be so luminous.
It'll be okay.
It'll be just fine.
That's what they tell me. Time after time, it'll be okay.
It'll be just fine.
One foot in front of the other and walk that high.
It'll be okay.
Some Some Oops, sorry about that.
Sometimes no news will do.
The voices in my head might havoc.
Flames engulf the room. I hear the tune.
How's it go? It'll be okay.
It'll be just fine.
One foot in front of the other and walk that line.
It'll be okay.
It'll be just fine.
Just remember the little things this time.
>> You just got to focus on the little things.
You just got to focus on the little things, y'all. when you're sad and you're having a crappy crappy day or crappy week or whatever it is going on, you just got to focus on the little things that all the little tiny things because there's there is little tiny things that bring you joy. Everybody's got different things, but but we all have them, you know, we all have little whatever it is. What if it's giving evil kitty hugs or, you know, eating uh what is that? Eating little Debbie snacks. You know who I'm talking about if you're listening.
Um, so I am going to that is a segue for the little things which is a one of my songs which I will sing just I'm going to check in with the chat real quick cuz cuz somebody out there says I need to check in every song and he'll start talking smack about me if I don't.
Let's see.
Let's see.
Thank you, Pooky. Yes, please hit the like button.
Hello, Jorge. Thank you for being here.

Please do that before you have to leave.
I would greatly greatly appreciate it.
The YouTube the YouTube gods seem to like that for some reason. That like button. So, I'm not sure how they feel about me cuz they're constantly taking views from me, but um yeah, I don't I don't I don't know.
But I'm not going to be I'm not going to be negative. I'm not going to be negative. We're going to stay positive.
kind of go.
Find our our inner chi.
Find our energy, y'all.
Get my big foot call out.
And we're going to talk about we're going to we're going to focus on all the little things that make us happy, whatever that is for you.
Oh, are you looking for happiness?
Are you looking for joy?
Seems to me it's always the same old story.
Oh, yeah.
If I was rich, if I had a house.
If I was rich, if I had a spouse, better job, bigger house. Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
Happiness is in the little fresh flowers in my head. The warm feeling of your stumpy kisses.
I wouldn't miss it for the world.
That dream where you saw them again.
Helping a friend. Time to Oh yeah.
Happiness is on a little dance.
The caress is like no other. Frisco breeze after summer.
Yeah.
If I was rich, if I had a house, a better job, a better spouse. Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
Happiness is in the little things.
The sweet, sweet smell of rain. Finally getting relief from the pain. Chew and sugar cane.
Oh yeah.
Happiness is on the list.
Think there's something better across the road.
If you don't find it, you might explode.
Smile from a stranger says it'll be okay.
It wasn't important anyway.
Happiness is in the little things.
So have your coffee in the morning. Even though you even though you wish you were snowing, thunder in the distance ain't got me wishing. Cuz I like storms for better things.
Oh, going to roll.
Happiness is the little things.
Caught every green light on the way home.
Favorite song playing on the radio.
Cricket tripping with me. Oh, but you don't know.
Oh, no. No.
Happiness is the little things.
Oh.
Oh, and that was just a reminder that happiness is in the little things.
So, whatever that is, maybe just having some pancakes or taking a drive, just getting in the car and taking a nice scenic drive or being thankful for like, hey, I had hot hot water in my bathtub or I had a cold fan blowing in my face even though I didn't have an air conditioner or something, you know, just there's just got to count your blessings, you know?
and just focus on those things. So, let's see.
Hey, Hugh Coba, thank you for being here.
Yes, Sparky. I hope you have a great day at work.
Yes, USA. Yes, today is a def is a Woosaw day. We're all just going to try and do the best we can and that's all you can do. That's all you can do.
Yep. Beat me beat me beat.
Yep.
It is well said, Sparky.
Don't listen to him.
Did I miss?
What did I miss?
Yep. Sometimes they're very, very tiny, Jerry. But they're still there.
Very tiny. Sometimes they're hard to see. You got to put on your glasses.
What?
Feel like I missed something. Oh.
Sitting all alone staring at the feeling kind of doing what I'm told.
You know what the song is?
And I said, "Oops."
I said, They fly.
I said Bob's favorite song.
I said a bi steady coop.
How's it go again?
He said mini La sales very I think your face is very basy what you tell me to Not going to do what you tell me to do.
I think you're basic.
I think very basic. Not going to do what you tell me to do. Not going to do what you tell me to do. I think you're basic.
Can't do this. I think your face is very I can't stop laughing.
That's right.
>> I needed to make myself laugh a little bit there.
So, I'm sorry y'all had to put up with that, but I needed to make myself smile.
See, that's what I mean. It's all a mindset. You just got to you just got to trick yourself and be like, "Yeah, I could just see Paul Walt's face going, "Ah, it's like no, no, not the sound."
Okay.
All right, let me make sure I before I move on to the next song, let me uh Well, he trolls me enough. Pooky, he needs some trolling.
Let's see.
I hope it's the laughing infection.
The laughing smiling positive infection.
That's a good infection to have.
Let's see.
All right.
And if y'all only knew the kind of week and and weekend I've had, it's a it's like a challenge. It's like you ever feel like life is just like challenging you? like I'm going to see how much you can handle, you know?
And I don't mean just like everyday problems. I mean like really you're just like really life, really life, really you going to be like that? You going to do that to me?
And life is like yeah, life is like holding my beard, right?
Life is like I'll do what I want. Live is like my scat song. It's like I'm not going to do what you tell me to do.
Is that Is that That's how that is, isn't it?
Come on.
As I'm saying that, life is like still going to jack with you right now.
Right now.
Yeah. It's just like, you know, they say what if you know like what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
I would be like, who is the strongest? I want to say Arnold Schwarzenegger, but um who's like the strongest woman?
Because I'm not a man. Um I don't know. I can't think of who the strongest woman is, but like I don't know. How about Zena? I'm Zena Warrior Princess. There you go. If if that's the case, cuz uh like I said, life is like constantly going, you know, I'm going to mess with you.
Okay, so the last song. So, so far actually made a list even though I'm not really sticking to the order of everything, of course. Right. Uh, so so far I played Tea with Culu, uh, The Great Awakening, Down South, uh, Sing Scat. It'll be fine.
And then uh the little things.
That's funny. I didn't write that down.
Wait, no, I did. It's on the other page.
Yeah, just sang it in a different order.
Anyways, so my next song is going to be Stay with Me.
Look to the mountains.
Look to the sea.
Look to the Give me one second. I really apologize that I have to stop, but I got to check something. My guitar is like Maybe it's my ears.
When I was playing my last song, I kept thinking not Scat the other one.
Maybe it's just my ears. I just felt like it wasn't sounding right. Sound like it was sounding out of tune. Okay.
Cuz I I just kept thinking I don't want I don't want to play through this whole song and be out of tune and feeling that way again, you know?
to the desert.
You and me.
Sends of time so far away.
Where did you go?
Can you stay?
Please remember us.
As we were, where we should have been.
Sins carry us far away.
You'll always be my friend.
M Where did you go?
What did you do?
I just want you to know my love's always been true.
We never know until it's too late.
Please don't go.
Doesn't have to be all fate.
You're forever like the sand of time.
Sing you into eternity.
Maybe this time. Maybe this time. Please don't go.
Oh, and now you're already gone.
Already gone.
Just want you to know.
So I wrote this song.
Stay with me. If only for a while.
Ooh, darling. Then please stay with me.
Hold me like a child.
I've always loved you all the while.
Now, please stay with me.
Hold me like a child.
Stay Like I said, the remix.
The remix. I need a drink of my coffee.
It's probably cold now.
Very parched.
Very if y'all can see this.
Can y'all see that? No. Y'all can't see.
Put it back in the light. Can y'all see that?
You know who that is?
Culu.
I have a picture of Culu in my studio.
Y'all know that?
He hangs out with me when I play next to one of my owls. One of my mini owls.
I've got like one, two, three, four.
I got four or five owls. Maybe more than that. No, five or six owls, actually.
And I've got bunch of crows.
There's one of my crows.
I got crows everywhere, too.
And all kinds of stuff.
Anyways, all kinds of weird stuff around here.
One of these days I should take a take the camera or I don't know. I don't know how I would do that. Let's say take like a different camera where I could maybe I'll just have to do it with my phone.
make a separate video where I kind of go around the studio and like this is a tour a tour of my studio, you know?
Sounds like some some kind of members only members only video if I ever get monetized.
Let's see. Um, all right. Where are we at?
Okay, that's where we're at.
Hey Bruce, thank you for being here. Bruce has got a show tonight. Hey Sonic Grace, hello Beat After Beat.
Thank y'all for being here. Bruce will be on tonight singing country music at around 8:00 p.m. It's some about around that time. Um, and then we got community polls tonight with Frank on Frank Tzo's channel. I think he will be, excuse me, interviewing um, Jack the Rabbit, I believe.
I said that last week, but I I think it got changed last week to the uh, Mr. Smith memorials or tribute.
So, he's doing I think he's doing the Jack the Rabbit tonight interview. Let's see. Um, who else? We got Leela coming up after at like 3:20. Leela's show starts and then Jade Star comes on after Leela and um I'm trying to think. This is Monday. Trying to think if there's somebody after before Frank. I don't think so that I know of.
And then of course there's some of my friends that stream all the time so I I don't always mention their names like like Dan streams daily. Dan Anderson, he's a good friend. Um so I don't know what time he'll stream but he streams all the time. Um let's see. And then Louie has a music stream.
Um plays good music and Beatater After Beat has a live stream. I don't know when your live streams are beat after beat, but I know you stream every so often. And then Jeremy is always putting out different things. And he has a Sunday stream and a Friday afternoon stream, which is strings and pucks.
And um let's see, Justine has a show Sunday nights.
And I got on on a tangent of like I mentioned one person and I'm like, "Oh no, now I got to talk about everybody because I don't want people to get their feelings hurt."
Um, there's so many people to talk about and that pole vault guy has a show tomorrow night on Tuesday's gone and has a show Friday night weekend warm up and has tmi on Saturday morning and flee fly.
Now you got now you got the song stuck in my head. coal.
Let's see.
Is anybody else looking if I missed mentioning somebody else's stream?
Sparky puts out videos make working on guitars.
Um, and Michael Songs who was here earlier, he does a mon a Sunday show, Sunday morning show.
I keep hearing that Hugh Cwell is going to do a show, but I don't know if he's going to do one or not.
You should do a live stream. Hugh Cwell.
Everybody would come.
It could be anything you want to do. You could do music. You You could even change it up. Be like, "Sometimes it's music, sometimes it's I don't know, cooking something." It could be anything. People would come see you.
if that's what you want to do. Not everybody wants to do it and it's you know it's a responsibility once you start doing it. If you start doing it like every week or you know you have a schedule it's responsibility. So, not everybody wants that responsibility cuz you know there's some times that you when you start doing that there's you're going to have days where you there's mountain man he has puts out good music and original original songs and covers and Boomer that Boomer guy does original songs and covers.
Um, but there's some days, what I was going to say, there's some days that you don't just don't feel like, you know, streaming. And then if you really make that commitment, you know, then you you do it anyway cuz you're like, you're like, you know what? I promised everybody I was going to do it, so I'm going to do it. And I'm a person of my word, so I'm going to be there. And then you know what? And then when you show up, even if you didn't feel like it, then when you show up, you're always glad you did cuz you're like, you know what? I'm so glad I went ahead and did it. And cuz I love all those people and they made everything work worth everything.
So then you're always glad that you did.
There's that Bird Finger guy. He puts out a lot lots of different kinds of music and he's a Bird Finger is crazy.
You want to see some crazy stuff? Go check out Bird Finger.
You know that they don't they don't pay attention to no soliciting PVA.
And I don't think even and I don't think anybody would do anything about it anyways. Say say there was a sign that said no soliciting. Even if you're like there was a sign that said no solicit. I bet they wouldn't even do anything.
They'd be like we don't care. We have bigger fish to fry in this neighborhood.
They'd be like there's like murders going on and stabbings and like horrible things going on and like the last thing we're going to worry about is that somebody knocked on your door trying to sell you Spectrum, you know?
Yeah. Let's see.
Calling leaving town. Wait, I was trying to read that.
Calling.
Well, have a safe trip. Two yards.
Let's see. I was live 12 hours.
Oh no. Beat after beat. You know what I did? I think I don't Was it yesterday? I don't know if it was yesterday. I'm not 100% sure. But anytime you I don't I usually don't most of the time I don't say anything because I'm just busy, you know. But um I'm always any when I see you live streaming, I do come onto your chat and I do hit the like button. So I do show up. I just don't always say that that I'm there. But but I I want to say it was yesterday, but I don't I'm not can't remember if it was yesterday because I had a pretty rough day yesterday. So, it might not have been yesterday. It might have been the day before, but I know it was like one of the last two days that you were streaming. I did come to your live even though I'm not a new subscriber.
Um so, at least I did that, right? But I'm sorry that you that that happened to you. That's I know it's rough. You just got to try not to focus on it.
Um Oh, no. You're feel free to make jokes.
Feel free to make jokes.
Um yeah, beat after beat. You just I like me personally when I'm streaming, I do pay attention to like who I see talking to me. I try to do that obviously, but I and there's some people that will like try to say, "Oh, like I've had this many people there or whatever." Uh, you know, like their numbers. I never never never look at my numbers uh when I'm on live streaming. Um, I don't pay attention to if there's two people or if there's 10 people or if there's 50 people. I don't I don't I don't look because it there's just no point in it's just going to I don't want it to affect what I'm doing.
Um, so I just do what I do and and I do try to, like I said, respond to people that are actually talking to me. Um, but other than that, I don't pay attention to numbers. So, uh, now I will I won't lie and say like after the stream is over, when I'm not streaming anymore, then I will look at the numbers and see like, okay, how many people showed up? I do look at that. I'm not going to lie about that. But like during the stream, I don't let it affect me. I don't I don't think about it. I'm just like, you know what? hanging out with my friends and yeah, and my lurkers. I see you lurkers. See you out there lurkers.
I know some of you who who tell me you always lurk and I know you are lurking because you always tell me things that happen during the show. So, I know you're telling me the truth and I appreciate you.
in my world.
My world stay in my world.
Oh, be My world.
Save.
Save my world.
Oh, stay there.
Stay in the world.
Stay in my world.
Oh, in my world.
In my world.
In my world.
Stay.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Heat. Heat.
Oh, hey.
Hey.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh, hey.
So that was in my world and then my version of drowning following that which is my I call that my screen therapy which I need today. So yeah that's that's always good to do.
Okay, let me check with the chat before I go to my next song.
Hey Lisa, thank you for being here. And Dave Bops, let's see. Hey Odan, thank you for being here.
Thank you, Boomer. I totally appreciate.
I mean, I understand the lurking.
See, see, I hope y'all are having a good day.
Hope everybody's having a good day.
Yeah, you I mean that it happens.
The crazies sometimes happen. Dave, hello Jardom. Thank you for being here.
painting walls.
When you said that, it made me think of that song, Counting Flowers on the Wall.
That don't bother me at all. Something something Captain Kangaroo. Is that how that goes?
It's funny the little things that that trigger different songs.
Let's see. I was playing your musical.
Oh, thank you. Ojisan, thank you. Yeah, Ojisan is uh he's he's um a part of he's not just not just Ojasan, but he and some other people are I think it's a squirrel lava squirrel medic. Am I saying that correctly? Uh they are working on a movie in actually in Texas. I don't know where in Texas uh because I'm in Texas.
Uh it'd be kind of cool to for us to come by and check it out one day. You know, I don't know where y'all are at.
But anyways, I digress. Uh but yes, they are working on a new movie and I'm sure it's going to be some type of scary movie, horror movie. Um I'm I'm guessing that because that's what I think that's kind of what they mainly what they work on. That's what they did last time. Um, if I'm wrong, correct me. But yeah, so that's exciting. It's exciting that y'all are uh that y'all are filming. And I I don't know about specifically where you're at in Texas, but today is probably a good day to film because it's not super excruciatingly hot. So, that's good. I think it's like 80.
Is it like 80°? I think it's like 80° here. Um, or going to be. It's the I think the high will be 80° which is great for right now. That's great cuz it's been uh it's been pretty hot lately. It's been like in the upper to mid 90s around that range. Um and I know it could be worse. Could be hundreds, right? But I'll take 80s. I'll take 80s.
It's been getting hotter and hotter and humid. Oh my gosh, it's been so humid lately.
Which is the humidity really kills you.
Okay. So, going to the next song, which is going to be Rabbit Hole. Now, of course, a lot of my songs are um acoustic version. So, there's songs that I do on this on my live stream that are they sound slightly different on the videos because they may have may or have some of them have different music to them.
Like this next one has music different music to it. But I just do a little acoustic version. Um, so yeah. So for anybody that likes the my music, you might want to one these days check out the actual the videos cuz sometimes the videos are obviously there's a video to it too, but um they may have different music as well. So Open my eyes to see the sunrise.
Only saw the rain.
Another eclipse.
is coming.
I can feel the pain.
Clouds cover your life.
I'm just upon storms pass.
door still gone.
I'm falling down the rabbit hole.
Ooh, save my soul.
I'm deeper down with no wind inside.
Vultures pick your bones until there's nothing left.
I close my eyes, hear my breath.
Oceans dance in your demise.
I'm floating in the endless time.
I'm falling down a rabbit hole.
Ooh, save my soul.
I'm deeper down.
down with no wind in sight.
Open my to see the sun rise only so brain.
That was the rabbit hole.
Okay, let's see. My next song is going to be Where will I be?
See, let me check in with chat real quick.
Spooky, I hope you are staying cool.
Me and Palt were trying were talking about trying to send you a air conditioner the other day. You don't We weren't sure if you had one or what was going on, but we were like, should we send her a fan? Something to help keep you cool.
So, if you have any ideas, let let us know what would work what would work for you.
Oh, that's good. I'm glad. Oh, San Antonio.
Okay, that's kind of far from where we're at. We're We're Yeah, it's probably San Antonio is about Let me think from here.
Gosh, it's been a while since we went there. Uh, what is that about 5 hours from here? Four hours? I don't know.
It's It's a It's a waste. It's a ways.
Okay.
But I'm glad you're having good weather.
Um well, Pooky, let me know and and let me and Pova know um that if you uh um if you if there's anything we can do to help you with your with staying cool and we will we will help you if you need help. So, please let us know.
What did you do? I just started to fade.
Reached out into the frame.
Too late.
You're running away.
Where will I be when you're gone?
Where's my strength to carry on?
Like it never happened in some universe.
Lost in the dark of my heart.
Where will I be when you're gone?
Slipping into sadness.
Falling into madness.
Lost in the shadows of my soul.
Losing all self control.
Some say it'll be okay.
I'm lost without you.
Some say tomorrow's a day.
They don't know you like I do.
They don't know you like I do.
You will love me when you're gone.
Imagine around the bend.
I'll go where it's not the end.
Through the fields of time and space.
All from grace.
Reached out to touch you as you faded away.
That was where Will I be?
Let's see. Okay. So, I was going to do that one.
I don't know if I want to do that one today.
Time is okay. Um, let me skip that one.
Okay, I think I'll do that one now.
Okay. Okay. So, my next song is going to be Solace.
Just a minute of your time.
Poor glass of wine.
Pull up a chair and unwind alone.
Oh, rest your bones.
Don't be so far away.
I'll be here to stay, at least for a while.
Close your eyes and we can walk the miles alone.
Rest your bones.
It'll be okay.
Don't walk away.
It'll be okay.
Don't fall away near the deep blue sea.
Your whispers are safe with me.
The wind carries your troubles away down by the bed.
wishes to to be free. Come sit alone with me.
We'll be free. It'll be okay.
Just for a little while.
I want to see you smile.
alone.
You'll be okay.
Don't walk away.
It'll be okay.
Don't fall away.
What are you looking for?
All the world's a stage.
Who are you dancing for? Time to turn the page.
Looking for yourself? Are you searching for someone else? Your best is good enough for me.
Just a minute of your time.
When your hands start saying, "I'm not going to do what you tell me."
You like that? That one song?
I can't say that cuz that's got a cuss word in it.
Not. Okay, that was solace.
Um, take a quick drink of my coffee.
The water of champions coffee is okay.
My next song is going to What time is it? Okay. Okay. Okay. So, I think after this song I will do useless knowledge corner I think and then and Pooky if I I don't think I caught anybody's numbers earlier.
Uh what?
Hang on. I got to make sure I didn't miss anything. I see Paul over there yelling.
This This is what I This is what I see when I look over there. I'm like, "What?
What the heck?"
Crazy man. Crazy man.
Hey, Brenda. Thank you for being here.
Uh, what I was going to say, stop.
You stop. Who you talking to?
Oh, my gosh.
Course get caught. Um, yeah. I' I'll save Scat for the next time. I I've already played it once and I'm I'm kind of running a little I'm not running low on time, but it's 2:00 and usually that's after I play this song, then we'll be on moving on to useless knowledge corner.
And that takes some time. So then I will have a little bit of time after that to finish playing my songs that I haven't played yet. And I have about let's see I've got well after that song I would have 1 2 3 4 five six seven more songs that I had planned on playing. So um okay, sorry y'all. I'm getting distracted.
I'm getting I'm getting distracted. I just keep seeing stuff like that pop up in the chat. I'm like, "Oh my gosh, I've got I got to quit looking. I got to quit looking. I'll never get through this stream."
Okay. So, I'm play one more song and then I'm going to do use snot corner.
So, if y'all have any numbers between the numbers of 200 and 600 um that you if you haven't already if now pooky if they already did let me know if I missed somebody. I don't I didn't see any earlier. So, and if you didn't, it's fine because I have lots of numbers already in here. So, um we'll be doing that and then I'll finish my seven more songs. Hopefully, I have time for all that. So, we're we're going to try cuz we'll have an hour after that.
after this. How about Okay.
Cut you in a rift of time.
Will you give me a lift?
Will you set me a drift in the sea of insecurity? I wanted to say insanity.
of insanity, which would be fitting to write. I got a notion.
I'm lost in the ocean of self-doubt.
Is it fire and brimstone now?
Is it brimstone now?
Who am I?
Stranger in a strange land.
Who am I?
Stranger in a strange land.
Land of the damned.
Let's play kick the can or the coffee can.
I kick the coffee can.
Wheels are spinning my memories away.
Flying down the lane wondering what went wrong.
remembering the pain.
Maybe tomorrow will be maybe the el star will greet me like an old friend kissing the shore.
with colors with no wind.
Who am I?
Who was I yesterday?
Who am I?
Who I'll be tomorrow?
Maybe I'll never know.
And that's just fine with me.
I'm just swimming upstream in this universe, this crazy place we call Earth.
Don't know where I'll end up without a care.
As long as I make it home to you.
Making time.
Breaking time.
I'll be just fine.
Saw water tappy skies, lines drawn in the sand.
But Ken G shadows understand who I am.
Okay.
That was called Who Am I? which is another song that I have different music to on my channel. That's just how I play it for the live stream because everything is played live with my acoustic guitar. That's just how I do it. That's what I do. So, um let's see.
Um, we are moving to the the uh useless knowledge corner segment of the show. So, if you are new here, because I know we had a few people earlier, I don't know if you are still here or not.
Uh, we have a few new people. Um, I will be playing seven more songs uh after this is over. So, if you're only here for the music, I understand. Uh, but this is the part where we talk for a few minutes and we just do some silly stuff for about 15 minutes or so and talk about stuff and just yeah have conversations and yeah hang out. So here's some useless knowledge from your brain to be used. Yay.
He says, "Now it's for."
>> Okay. So, I'm going to check the chat real quick and before I before I draw a number and I'm going to make sure I haven't missed any numbers, let's see.
Where's What?
See?
Wait, what?
Hey, Valerie. Thank you for being here.
I thought I saw something about a Valerie bot being here.
Let's see. Did I miss anybody else come in?
Hey, Grandpa Muskrat. Thank you for being here.
See what what I hope do hope I do hope since she'll be singing her burger chicken. Yes. Yes, I I do have Crash is the song you are referring to, Dave.
Is that on my list?
Yes, it is on my list of the seven songs I will be playing.
Um, better late than never, Grandpa Muskrat.
Yeah, I would start at 12:05 uh, Central Standard Time. So, I've been streaming for 2 hours, but I will be streaming until 3:00. So, you're not totally late, a little bit late, but like I said, um, let's see. Is there anything else I missed before I get back to what I was doing? Okay, I'm back to the I'm back to the flea the flea flu. So, I think I'm back.
Oh my gosh.
Okay. All right. Um, okay. Hopefully I didn't miss anything.
All right. So, I better set my guitar down for just a minute because this is going to be too hard to do.
Okay.
Yeah, when I was talking about playing kick the can, I was thinking, well, if we play kick the can together, I'm going to have to get a a metal a metal can because the metal cans sound better when you're kicking them around versus this big old plastic. This you can't play kick the can with a plastic thing. I almost broke down into this whole conversation right in the middle of my song when I was talking about kicking the can. I was like, you can't have a plastic can to kick the can.
Got to have a metal can. That's just the rules. I don't know. I made I don't know who made the rules, but that's in the rules. Okay. So, I am picking a number.
I'm kind of scrambling through. I'm mixing up all the numbers. Okay. And I'm pulling one out.
Let's see.
I can open this. Put my glasses back on so I can see.
It's stuck together.
Whose idea was it to use sticky notes to write these on? Oh, it was mine.
Uh, Boomer.
Yay, Boomer.
Y'all can see Boomer. So, this is from another show because I always keep the numbers from other shows in there. So, if you've ever given me a number, then it'll be it'll still be in here if I haven't drawn it already. So, so Boomer had at some point picked uh uh 401 401.
So, I'm going to throw this away so I don't repick it another day. And I'm going to pull out my my book because this is our this is our useless knowledge corner book.
And we're This is where we open up the book and I go to and I don't know what we're going to read for anybody that's never been here. I don't know what we're going to read because Boomer picked it.
So, Boomer, I hope you picked a good page that's interesting or funny cuz I don't know. We don't know. Are are we going to learn something today?
Let's see. What is this? What is this about?
Okay. So, of course, this is going to be one of those things where I open up or I open up the page and it's like or it's already been talking about something. So then I have to go I have to backtrack.
Let's see.
Okay.
Okay. So I'm going to have to go to this is like the very end of what it's saying. So I'm going to have to backtrack like one page. so we can know what the heck they're talking about because otherwise we're going to be totally lost. All right.
Okay. So, boomer picked this. They don't know. We're learning something. We're working our brains out and learning something.
Something that we're never going to need to know in the future. Okay.
So it says in the early morning hours of his spring morning, Robert Smalls became I wonder if he's has anything to do with that the saying where he's like you're killing me Smalls. Uh in the early morning hours of a spring morning, Robert Smalls became a fugitive slave and a national hero. Robert Smalls was born into slavery in 1839 in Bufort, South Carolina, where he lived until age 12 when he moved with his owner to Charleston. Then his owner allowed Smalls to hire himself out. And with all but $1 of his wages going to the owner.
When he turned 18, Smalls renegotiated with his owner to pay him $15 per month and keep the rest of what he earned. He married Hannah Jones, who was owned by a different slaveholder. The next year, Hannah gave birth to a daughter, Elizabeth Robert.
Oh, wait, wait, wait. Gave birth to a daughter, Elizabeth. Period. Robert quickly made arrangements to buy Hannah and Elizabeth from their owner for $800.
He had saved money toward that purpose when the Civil War broke out.
See, so this this story for anybody who is wondering the the title is called sailing from slavery to freedom.
Um says okay so Smalls had several jobs prior to the war and through them he accumulated a variety of skills. Many of these skills were related to sailing.
And in 1861, Smalls was hired as a sailor on the planter, a corn cotton streamer for $16 a month after the war began. The planter came under control of the federate government, Confederate government, sorry. It served General Roswell Ripley, commander of the second military district of South Carolina.
Smalls superiors recognized his skills.
Although his status as a slave kept him from gaining an official title from all intents and purp for all intents and purposes, Smalls was made the planters pilot.
Um with that position, Smalls was given details of the signals and passcodes necessary for a vessel to navigate for the heavily fortified Charleston Harbor.
This information came in very handy in the early hours of May 13th, 18 1862.
The 23-year-old illiterate Smalls did something that astonished everybody. He he commanded the planter. The day before the ship had been loaded with the armaments to transport to forts where they were needed. While the while the white Confederate crew was ashore, leaving eight slaves aboard, Smalls took the ship and went to pick up their families. Then he sailed toward the Union fleet blockade blockading Charleston Harbor, giving the appropriate passcodes as he navigated past Confederate ships. Smalls had carefully watched and studied the planters captain, and this morning he wore the captain's hat and coat, mimicking his voice and movements as best he could to avoid suspicion from others in the Confederate fleet. As Smalls and his crew approached the nearest blockading ship, the USS Onward, they were aware that their Confederate steamer looked suspect. Smalls raised the white flag of surrender. And as the planter drew near near the Union vessel, the Natalie dressed slave doted his cap, shouting, "Good morning, sir. I have brought you some of the old United States gun, sir."
For the capture of the planter, President Lincoln awarded Smalls and his associates $1,500 in prize money. The Union Press made Smalls a hero, and the newspaper across the North told of his bravery, citing his actions as an as an argument against racial stereotypes. In one New York Daily Tribune editorial, the author wrote, "He was not also he wait, is he not also a man, and is he not fit for freedom since he had made a hazardous dash to gain it? Perhaps perhaps but they seem to possess good material for improvement. Uh few white men had a have had a better record than Robert Smalls. In August 1862, Smalls and Mansfield uh and Mansfield French, a missionary traveled to Washington DC to meet with the president. their objective to ask the Union Army to recoup recruit 5,000 black soldiers to fight the war. The request was granted and the black soldiers and all the black units were enrolled in the military for the first time in US history.
Okay, at the end uh Smalls remained active throughout the war. On April 7th, 1863, he piloted the ironclad ship Kio Ko Ku Kiokak during an attack on Fort Sumpter. The ship was struck 19 times and sank following the following morning. On December 1st, 1863, Smalls became the first black captain of US of a US vessel and was honored for his braver bravery under fire. After the wall war, if I can talk, that'd be great. After the war, Smalls entered the war, the world of politics. Uh, tutors had taught him to read and write, and he had always been re regarded as well spoken. In 1868, he contributed to drafting the South Carolina State Constitution, and he went on to serve in the South Carolina House of Representatives and in the state senate. In 1875, he was elected to the US House of Representatives, where he served five terms. Holy crap. Uh, the man who was once a Buford slave boy had become the most powerful black man in the South in South Carolina. Smalls moved back to Bufort where he bought the the very house in which he had been a slave.
Smalls died on February 23rd, 1915. His house is now a national historic landmark. Wow. That's crazy. That is crazy.
That's crazy.
That's crazy.
So, thank you, Boomer, for participating in uh in giving your your number so we could pull your number out of the coffee can and read about that amazing person.
Okay.
And then now, let's see.
That was pretty crazy. That's pretty crazy that he did all that.
That's pretty crazy.
Okay, let's see.
Sniffing glue. Shoot. Would that help?
Pull.
Would that help?
Asking for a friend. Um, let's see.
This is itching.
Right. You're killing me, Smalls. Yep.
Trying to see what I missed in the chat.
Let's see.
Oh, take care, Dave. Thank you. If you're still here, thank you. If you're not, well, missed it.
See, need to work in stuff.
Okay.
I want a sandwich. Yeah, take a Make me a sandwich, too, while you're making a sandwich, Paul. I need a sandwich. I haven't eaten today, either. Okay. All right. So, now I told y'all earlier we were going to talk about IV I'm going to time you out for saying that. I don't hit people.
I don't appreciate you saying that.
Um probably need to be, but I don't hit people. Um, okay. So, uh, we're going to talk about Lake Vastto.
Yeah, I'll just get one of them to do it for me. Justine and Pooky, feel feel free to smack Palta.
Oh my god.
Okay, I need to quit reading the chat.
Y, you're distracting me. I can't I can't focus. Can't focus. Okay, I got to focus. Focus. Focus. Okay, so we talked about last week we talked about um talked about Crater Lake.
We've been talking about a bunch of lakes. Okay, trying to focus here. Um like lakes that have mysterious things happening. Like one of them that we talked about had I think it was Crater Lake had the aliens or you know who they or you know people who thought there was aliens you know all this crazy stuff and uh anyway different lakes. So this this week is going to be Lake Bostock. So Lake Bosto is uh located in Antarctica 2 miles beneath the ice.
two miles beneath the ice. Okay, so if y'all can imagine, that's pretty crazy, right? So, nobody even knew that this was there, that this huge enormous lake was there for the longest time cuz obviously it's 2 miles beneath ice.
And so, you're imagine that. Imagine like there's no there's no sunlight.
There's no sunlight under there. there is no natural error for like 15 million years. They they're saying that there's there's not any outside influence to this lake. The lake is so it's it's close to freezing even though it's covered in ice. It's close to freezing on the in the lake. So it's very cold but it's not frozen. And you you may ask yourself why isn't it frozen? Because there's ice on top of it. It's because the core of the earth that's hot beneath it is it keeps it liquid. So it keeps it just liquid enough so it's not frozen but it's cold. And then uh so once it was discovered uh through radar, these scientists did radar to discover this.
And uh then they were like, "Wow, like we need to like look into this and we need to drill, you know, this is how this is how scary movies start, right?
Where they drill down into the ice and then there's horrible things because you know, like stuff that's never came out now they're going to like mess with it, right?" Um, but they so they drill down in into this water and they're thinking, "Okay, there's all these organisms that have never been seen before. This bacteria that's that's not bacteria." Like stuff that's here, you know, they always say like, "Oh, it's got to have sunlight to survive.
It's got to have air to survive. It's got to have a certain temperature to survive, you know, etc., etc., right?"
So, well, not in this lake. this lake is a is a mystery. It's um so how they kind of vision this is like so if you if you go into space like the you know any of the planets I know they're all different but so on it's hard for things to survive in outer space and on these planets these other celestial bodies um because of the the the temperature is too cold there's high pressure there um darkness there's no sun you know all all these all these factors are are very similar to what is in that lake. So they're like we really need to study this lake. So because this will kind of help us to understand um you know like other planets basically how how there could be life on other planets because there is life y'all.
There's life in this in this lake where there's no sun and there's no outside air and all this, you know, you're like, how is how is how can anything be alive in it? But there is. So, explain that.
Explain that to me. Uh, aliens. No.
Um, so, but there is like there's literally they said there's these crustaceations type type things down there. There is unknown bacteria that is alive down there. there is these these subglacial organisms that are living in this water. Um, and they were trying to figure out how they can continue to get energy and thrive. So, one of the craziest things that I thought about this that I learned through learning about this lake is that so they said that some of this stuff was getting energy, get this, was getting energy from the rocks.
Okay? You're like, you're like the rocks, right? Well, they said that there's chemicals that are coming from the rocks that are somehow providing energy chemical, you know, rock chemicals, but like are providing, you know, energy for these for these things to survive kind of. So, instead of sunlight, they're getting energy from rocks. And so, um, I mean, that just opens up a whole another conversation, you know, because you're like, I could go on and on about rocks.
Uh, and then there's people that believe in, you know, that certain rocks have and and crystals and things like that have all these, you know, different energies and things. And so, uh, I just thought that was fascinating that, um, that some of these things that down there are living from rocks. The rocks are giving them life. And I don't totally understand it, but I'm just saying that's what the scientists have said. And so, um, so yeah, I think that was all that I had in my notes that I had put down that, um, about that lake. So, yeah, Lake Bosto is a is an an enigma. An enigma. Say that five times fast. Enigma. So, corner.
>> Okay, that's all I'm going to say about Lake Bosto.
That's hard to say. Even say Bosto.
Bostock.
That and that came from a I think that the name of that came from a scientist or no, sorry, I think it was the name of his ship. The guy that was on the ship, they called his ship Boston.
Anyway, I told you I wasn't going to keep talking about it. Oh, but I said enough enough about it.
And there's lots of stuff you can you can go online and read about it. And I'm sure there's probably stuff that I forgot to say and left out, but it'd be fine.
So, uh, I need to get back to my music before I run out of time.
Me make sure my guitar is still in tune.
And it's not.
It's not in tune actually.
Good thing it checked.
Okay.
And by the way, to my brother, if you're listening, thank you for my tuner. I use it all the time. And uh and what is that? Snark, if I could say that correctly. Snark. Snark, if you want to um sponsor me, I use your your tuner and I love it. So, just saying.
Just saying.
Okay. So, my next song is going to be um let me check in with the chat and then I'm going to sing I'mma do Crash, which is not about cars.
Who was who was talking about Crash while ago? Somebody I think it was Dave, but Dave already left. Oh, dad gum it. I just realized I think Dave had to go before I played the song he was talking about. So, next time I see Dave, I'm going to have to play Crash immediately.
So, cuz I feel bad now.
Hey, Chameleia.
Chameleia is in Australia. Hey, Hubs.
Chameleia is in Australia. And so that means I don't know what time what time is it there. Is it morning Chameleia for you? Like early morning? I think it would be. I'm just guessing.
Okay.
Okay. So, here is Crash, y'all.
No, everything sounds off today.
I don't know which way to go, which way is up.
I don't know which way is down.
World is spinning round, round and round. Thought I do that and I love I got burn to the ground.
World is spinning round and round.
Eyes telling me to escape. Dodging dodging this game. Trolls ended my soul.
is in our control cuz we crash cars going to be a big star.
We crash cars dancing star someday.
We crash cars. We think we'll go far far away.
Far away.
Driving down Burger Street. Lost in my head. You see signs say they miss the one that got away.
Are you here? Are you here to stay?
We we crash. God's going to be a big star.
Not like that. We crash. God, do you think we'll go far?
We crash cars. Don't give a big star someday.
We crash dancing from far, far away.
far away.
Birds at the touch. You better kne away before it's too late.
It's a lot to be.
We crash cars. Going to be a big star.
We crash cars. Do you think we will fall?
We crash God's going to be a new star someday.
We crash God. The only thing will go far, far away.
Far away.
I don't want to let go.
Time means everything to me.
What do I bring my love and my soul? Are you listening?
You listening?
Stop listening. We crash cars.
Feeling star.
We crash cars. Do you think we'll go far?
We crash cars. going to be a big star.
That was crash.
I'm sorry, Dave, that I did not play that before you left. I remember when he said something about it earlier and I thought, well, you know, I'm going to play it, but then he had to leave and now I feel bad.
No, I have guilt.
I don't want to have guilt, but I do.
I don't know why that my Dorough bro likes to stay in tune better and longer than my Fender cuz I'll have to retune my Fender. Of course, I guess I play the Fender more.
Maybe that's why. I don't know.
It just seems like it seems like my fender is like constantly it I just always have to jack with it and I can like I can pick this dough bro up and it's just it's just like already in tune. I don't even know how that's happens but whatever. Okay, so my next song is the crow.
Your eyes tell me a story tell as You've been accused, committed no crime.
Speak to me without making a sound.
In spite of it all, we are bound.
Fly high above the lights.
Lying on the ground wondering why.
I hear you laughing.
You will not die.
Why do you want me spy?
Just let me ride.
We are the salt of the earth.
My vibration tells me your worded atomic prayers invisible pattern not Crystallized memories, visions of the divine.
Your eyes tell me a story tell fly high above the Your eyes tell me a story till old as time.
You've been accused but committed no crime.
We are the salt of the earth.
Okay, that was the cro and I'm still trying to make friends with the crows like we discussed.
But I'm not trying as hard like I was being very diligent like you know with my whole trying to you know put the food out and the eggs and the trinkets and all that.
And uh I I'm still going to give them try to give them stuff, but I'm just I think my cats are too much of an issue that between the cats and and chunk and like I just think there's too many outside factors and the squirrels uh where they're trying to get their food and it's just so it's too frustrating to try like every single day all the time cuz yeah, I just they won't leave my stuff alone.
They won't leave my crow food alone.
So, it is what it is.
It is what it is. I need a shirt that says that. It is what it is. Um, okay.
So, let me check in with the chat and then I'm going to probably play Just a Dream next.
Let's see.
Should grab a drink of my coffee while I'm checking in with the chat.
Potato chip sounds good. Pokey.
I'm using my jackaloupe since y'all can kind of see it there. My jackaloupe mug.
I like that. I like that mug.
Let's see.
See, we wait.
Wow.
Well, that's messed up. Louie, do y'all know what happened to me one time?
Um, speaking of Crocs, is it wasn't Crocs, though?
Let's see. Wait, what?
Oh, thank take care grandpa and grandpa Muskrat. Thank you for being here. Um, hope you have a good day. Um, what so what I was going to say is a long time ago, a long time ago, this isn't recent. Um, he was talking about wearing Crocs and getting the spot on his foot or something. Um, one time, and this is a true story, I got uh, flipflops from Walmart.
Boy, Walmart's going to really hate me cuz I have my song Ghost Bread and they're like I've always worried about Walmart hating me over my Ghost Bread song. But uh now here I am talking about their flipflops. But one time I got uh these flip cheap flip flops from Walmart many many years ago and uh I put them on my feet. We went to the lake and we were I think we were camping at the time and I mean and in Walmart's defense, okay, I have very sensitive skin anyways, like I I you know, but but I digress. These flip-flops burn like I got chemical burns from the like plastic or whatever the heck they were, whatever they're made out of, whatever chemical or paint. I don't know what it was. All I know is where every part that was touching my foot at the when I wore these things gave me chemical burns.
They was like red and itchy and like it hurt. It literally hurt like a burn and um that was crazy. And I had to take them off and I was just like threw them away. And this is I'm sure I'm sure somebody out there's probably said, "Oh, you should have done something about that." Like you know, but I didn't. Um, I was just like, never buying those again. I'm never buying like flip-flops from Walmart again cuz I'm sure they came from some far away place and that doesn't monitor their stuff well. But yeah, so that happened. So, don't I wouldn't I wouldn't recommend buying especially if you have sensitive skin. I wouldn't recommend buying flip-flops from there and or unless maybe they've changed.
Maybe they've changed and they have good flip flops. I don't want to be don't want to be sued by by Maybe they have good flip flops now. I don't know. I don't know. It was a long time ago. Um so yeah, disclaimer. I mean that's they may have good stuff. Who knows? Uh next song.
Yeah, I'm thirsty too. Palt, I have all I've had is coffee all day.
That's it. Nothing else.
So, the next song is going to be it's called Just a Dream. If you've never if you're lurking and you've never been here, it's called just a dream, but everybody usually puts a doodoo in the chat because I don't have a doodoo emoji that says like the word dood do. And so they just put doodoos in the chat because you'll see Someone was walking down the wood. Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo. Time to tie my shoes and thought what the hell is going on in this world?
Everything's coming.
Wondering my thoughts.
Look at all these [ __ ] robots. Is this real anyway?
D.
Just a dream.
I'm not here. Will prove it.
We're just pretending in the moment.
So I was walking down the way do stop to gaze at the sun and went away.
What the hell's going on?
in this world.
Everything's coming.
What is the meaning of all this simulation we call life?
cuz it's here to stay.
Space yourself for eternity cuz we're here for the long haul.
You and me, the way it should be.
It's the remix.
It's the remix. I'm going to start. That is I coined this term, y'all. If anybody ever says it, Sunshine Archer coined the term first. When you mess up or you have to change something in your song unexpectedly, it's the remix.
So, that's all it is. It's just the remix. So, it's the remix.
K.
Kiki, what are you doing? Ow. Pete, I'm being attacked by Pete.
Let's see. Pay it forward. What time is it? What time is it? What time is it?
Oh, boy. 251.
Okay.
Okay. I'm running out of time. So, I was going to play I was still going to play Pay It Forward. I was going to play I already played that one. I was going to pay ghost bread, murder chicken, don't talk to dolphins. Um, okay.
One of those days trying to get back to the start.
Rather take nine beatings and go to Walmart.
Speaking of Walmart, they couldn't get longer cuz I'm already dead.
Stroll down the aisle. Got to eat with both Ghost Bread.
Ghost spread. Ghost bread while you throwing multigrain.
Think that you are smart why not throw plane?
Ghost spread. Ghost spread. Did you think that you knew me? If I was eating healthy, I'd buy whole wheat.
She looked at me and I looked at her.
Did you see that?
said, "I leave that bread alone." All bread makes you fat.
Fat fat.
Pete is down here and he's distracting me really bad.
Ghost spread. Ghost spread. Why you throwing multigrain?
Think I needed aggravation making me feel insane. Ghost spread. Ghost spread.
Now I'm feeling by that stupid brain and it's not even on sale.
So learn your lesson when you set foot in Walmart.
Keep your eyes peeled when you grab your cart.
Says a ghost head might steal your heart.
Ghost bread, ghost bread. Now I've stayed in here too long. I'm sure that you're a demon from hell and you possess me to write this song. Ghost bread, ghost bread. Oh, I wish I knew your name. I'm sure all bread is evil, so I'll call you Sam.
Pete is terrorizing me. And he just went over there. So, I don't know what he's doing now. Great.
It's just so hot. I would shut the door, but it's so it's it's it's cooler if I leave the door open. So, and if I put a gate up, he could still jump over the gate, so that won't work. So, I don't even know. I don't know. Anyways, that was ghost bread. Okay.
Um, Pete, Pete, Pete.
Okay, the next song is going to be.
Oh, hey Jim. Thank you for being here.
Let's fix and play Murder Chicken.
Let's see.
Hello, broken.
What? No. Front. You're Yeah. No, I I agree. I don't understand what's uh I I agree on the out of tune.
I um I did I did tune it. I don't know what's I've been having issues all day.
I don't know if Hang on. I'm afraid to mess with my settings.
Let's see. Hang on. Let me see something real quick. Audio. No. Okay, never mind.
Never mind.
I don't know. I feel like something's off with my settings or something.
But um Hey, betrayed. Thank you for being here.
Yeah, I've been having issues with my uh my sound today. So, yeah. I don't know.
But uh anyways, I appreciate your constructive criticism.
Doesn't sounds fine to you, Chameleia. Okay.
Well, at least it sounds fine to somebody.
I'm still enjoying hanging out with y'all anyways for everybody that's here.
Um and I always appreciate constructive feedback. So, just so you everybody knows. Um, yeah. So, if anybody ever feels like something isn't sounding right, be sure and let me know, please.
Uh, I definitely want to know that. So, um, but yeah, like I said, I appreciate everybody's here. I love y'all so much.
And, um, I've got two more songs to play, um, today and then I will be signing off for today.
So Leela will be coming on at 3:20. Um and um yeah, and I just appreciate everybody that's here and I appreciate all the lurkers and so uh yeah, next song is going to be Murder Chicken.
Wait, before I play, let me just make sure. Check.
See, it is going out of tune. Maybe it's my strings. Maybe it's could be the temperature changing cuz my E was out.
Sometimes uh broken. Just so you know, the environment that I play in is I'm in this the studio is not very um it's not very what's the word? Uh, when the temperature changes outside, it affects the inside a lot more than the rest of the house.
Let's see.
See? Oh, that's way off. That's way off.
What the heck?
Anyways, okay. See, it was So, you were right. So, the there was uh two of my chords that were had went out of tune.
Uh, but I was saying real quick is that uh insulated I couldn't think of the word insulated. So, it's not very insulated in here. And so, uh, when it gets really hot or really cold or the temperature changing at all, it affects my guitar as I'm playing. So, I'm constantly checking to see if my guitar is in tune. Sometimes it's still in tune, sometimes it's not in tune. So, I think that's what just happened is it was out of tune. So, I apologize for anyone that that was bothering. So, there you go.
Order chicken in a backyard under the sun.
Lived up his bird known for the fun with feather so dark in a minute.
But a chicken wrong. Now you better not try. You were just a baby.
Always a bit crazy.
One day it all changed.
You were deranged.
Oh, murder chicken. Why is your face so amazing?
I know you could be tasty, maybe with some gravy.
But I love you.
Wish you could love me back.
Not with a knife.
All you need is a big hug.
Yes. All you need is love.
Cuz you could be so easy to make some soup that would free up a coup.
Oh, murder chicken. Why is your face so fancy?
I know you can be tasty maybe with some gravy.
But I love you.
Wish you could love me back.
Not with a knife.
Murder chicken. I wrote this song for you. I hope you'll be true.
Cuz if you don't, then we can be friends. And tomorrow you might be chicken.
Chicken. Okay.
Light back on. Always does that right at the end.
>> Always.
Okay.
Speaking of murder chicken, Pickles was taunting bird murder chicken yesterday. I was like, "Oh Lord, like if she ever gets her her hands on him on her, if she ever gets her hands on her, I have to keep them separated. Just keep murder chicken separated from everybody but her one sister that she was raised with. And that's the only only chicken she can for sure get along with. And so I have to have she has to be supervised if she's around the other chickens because I don't want to lose chickens.
But man, she was Pickles was like taunting her and I'm like, "Oh no." Like don't do that cuz next time y'all are around each other, she's going to like try to jack you and it's going to be bad and not smart.
Okay. So, my last song is going to be Don't Talk to Dolphins.
So, yeah.
See, let me tell you that one time I went down to the coast.
Work had me tired.
I couldn't wait for the boat.
Just when I was putting on my bobin, saw a beautiful dolphin.
Said, "Hello.
What's your name?"
Said, "My name's Rob. Nice to meet you."
said, "Can I swim with you?"
Said, "Just keep in love. We'll be through and swell into the blue."
Talk to animals and Jeff maybe pickles and laugh.
Save yourself a problem.
Don't talk to us.
Next thing you know, police arrived on the scene.
Didn't know this could mean Ralph said, "It's nice to meet you, my queen of the sea."
A lot of tons of animals packing junk and jail chicken bag left.
Save yourself a problem.
Don't talk to police said you're going to jail.
Don't even try try to fail.
