This video exposes the blatant absurdity of "market adjustments" that have turned dealerships into little more than legalized scalping operations. It is a sobering reminder that brand prestige is often used as a thin veil for predatory pricing and economic irrationality.

I Walked Into Chevrolet and Immediately Regretted It
Added:We are back at Reliable Chevy, which those do not go together. It's kind of funny that they would name a Chevy dealership Reliable Chevy in 2026 when they're selling I mean they got issues with the truck. They got issues with that. They got issues with almost everything and then you're selling a Trax over here. Let me show you this.
This one has a tiny little 1.2 turbo.
Yeah, it's the most affordable vehicle at $28,000 but it has a 1.2 turbo engine. I wouldn't think that's going to be too reliable. What do you think Reliable Chevy? Man, the name Reliable Chevy, two things that should never go together.
Let's look at this Traverse. You know, Traverses used to have a V6. Not anymore. 2026 Traverse Z71 with a 2.5 turbo.
Wow, $52,000.
They are pricey without question. Very expensive, very expensive. Let's see what else we got. We even got 2027s up here. 2027 Bolts, 2027 Bolts right here.
$30,000.
Yeah, range of 262 miles but if you look at the history of the last electric vehicles that Chevy had, yeah, let's just put it that way. They had to be parked away from the building and all sorts of stuff because there was a fire hazard. So, that was the kind of issue that was going on just not too long ago.
Let's see, now you're at 84,000. 2026 Suburban, this one has a 3.0 diesel but they do have some Corvettes and inside.
That's where the good stuff's at without question. Corvettes and all sorts, which that's the other thing. Now they have that kind of stuff sitting on the lot.
Even Chevy Corvettes are sitting not selling. Now we actually made it to the showroom over here and we can see the Corvettes. Why they even have Is this what I think it is? Wow, sitting on the lot. I hope they're not doing a market adjustment. 2026 Corvette ZR1X.
Wow, 3LT. I can't even see the price.
$268,000.
I had to zoom in to see the price, but there you go. In stock on the lot. Wow.
That is surprising to actually see that in stock, man. And they just redesigned these Corvettes now with 2026. There's actually, you know, they got rid of the whole button thing right there. They even had a little twisty knob for the sport and stuff like that. They added a screen over here.
But they're still sitting on the lot right now. So, these Corvettes used to have market adjustments. Used to be all sorts of crazy stuff.
But now Corvettes are sitting on the lot. You know, it's a different kind of market than we were just in a few years ago. 2026 Corvette Z06 136. Now, this Z06 is way more bad to the bones than the regular C8 Corvette. It's almost hard to compare. Like this thing right over here, this is a convertible Stingray.
It's almost hard to compare. But the other thing is the Z06 no cylinder deactivation. This Corvette shuts down to four cylinders. Think about that.
This literally shuts down to a four-cylinder and it's a Chevy Corvette, which to me is one of the most shocking things. Why, you know, why? Why Chevy?
But it's because of obviously emission standards. 2026 Corvette 3 LT $108,000.
Wow, that's expensive right there, man.
Without question. 108, but the Z06 will actually have a gas guzzler tax on the window sticker. But first time actually seeing one of these 2026 Corvette ZR1X in stock on the lot, not sold, which kind of has me wondering, what kind of market adjustments are they doing on this for it not to be sold? I mean, you would think it would sell immediately because these things are so desirable right now. It's actually crazy. It's kind of like when Corvettes were first coming out, when people would pay 20k above MSRP for a Stingray?
It's kind of how these are right here.
Even though I've seen a 100K above MSRP on some of these. I mean, look at this fiberglass wing. The wing alone, almost 10 15 grand. So, very expensive options.
I mean, this thing is $265,000.
So, get ready to spend the money on that one. But, to see Corvettes sitting on the lot. Let me show you this one because the window sticker, you're going to be able to actually see gas guzzlers tax on the window sticker, which is unfortunate. But, this one does not have cylinder deactivations. So, it's what it has on there. Yeah, $2,600.
Did you guys see that? Gas guzzlers tax, $2,600 on the window sticker of this Z06 Corvette because this one does not have cylinder deactivation.
Same like that, you know, the ZR1. That one doesn't either, of course. But, the standard C8 Corvette does. But, what do you guys think? First time on the channel, we've actually seen one of these in stock on the lot. Surprising.
Let's just put it that way. To actually see a ZR1 X just sitting here. You know, it really makes me wonder. There has to be some catch. Well, I just checked their website. $125,000 market adjustment extra addendum at this Reliable Chevy dealership in Springfield, Missouri.
They got to be called out for that, man.
$125,000.
Why does Chevrolet Why does General Motors allow a dealership to mark up a Corvette $125,000?
And the dealership didn't even put it on the vehicle. You would think they would put it on there to show you, "Hey, we're up front." Didn't even put it on the vehicle. Check their website. At least they're putting it on there. $125. Check out Reliable Chevy in Springfield, Missouri. You'll see it. The top Corvette is $390,000 on their website because of the $125,000 market adjustment. That is insane, man.
That is sad, but it's also insane. It's kind of the way it is what it is, but $125,000 market adjustments well, that's why it's still sitting here. Let me know what you guys think. Went back to a Chevy dealership. We went to Reliable Chevy, which makes no sense. Those two words shouldn't go together. We went inside, saw one of the most rare Corvette sitting on the lot. And then I checked the website and found out it has a $125,000 market adjustment, and they want nearly $400,000 for that Corvette. $393,000. That is crazy. Let me know what you guys think.
Have a great day, and stay blessed.
