The podcast discusses how skin color discrimination originated from slavery, where light-skinned individuals were privileged with domestic work while dark-skinned individuals were demonized and associated with negative characteristics like rats or cockroaches, creating lasting social hierarchies that persist today.

I'm Brill and I'm the barber. And I'm Chuck Pav and this is the thing is podcast.
>> Absolutely.
>> Episode 17.
>> You should subscribe and like every time. What we got going on today, fellas? [ __ ] Drake. I woke up Saturday morning and um woke up to the Drake three albums. Three of them. And so I went to work. I listen to one. I listen to Ice Man. See what he was talking about. I was, you know, more or less I listen to it. I feel like, you know, Drake, Drake is still Drake, you know.
He's still Drake still got that rhymes.
He still got balls, man. You know, I like Drake. I agree. Uh I I had since haven't really heard any music from since, you know, Super Bowl movement and [ __ ] you know. Uh he's supposed to win this. I ain't heard no real music from they said he dropped a few little songs but [ __ ] wasn't nothing so it didn't get too much traction does milk goods yeah but the nice man he get it's nice I mean in my my opinion and he gets out a lot of people get a lot of people I know you hardly hear >> yeah I'm going actually say this fellas uh I s heard all three of the albums that's I'm a Drake fan I ain't going to lie uh Kendrick Lamar fan too uh what I got out of it was it was it was a little oversaturated for me Right. Game run, fellas.
>> What you mean by over sexual?
>> Uh, man dropped like 43 songs all together, but I I didn't really feel like it was uh it was no real I didn't get caught by nothing on it though, really. Like I feel like uh stuck out.
>> Yeah, nothing really stuck out. And I'm used to Drake having bangers back to back. Um to me, he could have took maybe like Ice Man 18 songs. could have probably used about half of that. Took a couple one off them other two joints and made a complete album and then it probably been a little better for me.
>> Um I didn't list all three of them cuz I had two.
>> Do you think he should have brought a double CD?
>> I think he just did one be honest. Just one dance record. Uh he had a lot of he had a lot of subliminals too. A lot of subliminal he had a lot of them you know and uh I'm just saying I think Drake is discombobulated from that beef. It's two years ago. Let it go. You're lost, bro.
Keep doing good music. That's all I really got to say. You know something, man? I I I feel like Drake, he remembers every single person that he feel like ever slighted him in his life, you know. Uh to me like he got this thing on with Joe Button, you know, talking about that he knocked out Joe Button's baby mama or who who's Joe Buttons with, you know, he got a reputation of like trying to slide in uh you know, [ __ ] uh mas or ex-girlfriend's DM and [ __ ] like that and then, you know, throwing it up in a nigga's face, you know?
I don't that game right there seems real like petty and and and and feminine like to me. something about it. Seems like girlish a little bit, right?
>> Uh but >> you know, you know, he's really he really has a problem with anyone that never slighted him. I mean he I mean he takes shots at LeBron James.
>> Yeah. On stage uh at the pop out and not like us saying six times in a row and all that was there. That's why he kept Dr. Dre talking about Dr. Dre. Everybody was there. He feel like was against him.
So, >> oh man, he need to stop that.
>> That's how you feel.
>> And you know, like like I was telling my buddies about u referencing something else.
>> Some people just look like they was raised by their mother only. You know what I'm saying? He drink >> and he and he and and and my buddy just mentioned something that you know the wag man just mentioned something about him really acting like a a bee about the smallest things. Everything gets to them. I can't wait to listen to these albums and get my perspective on it.
>> Yeah. Yeah. You know something Yeah. Definitely listen to albums. Get your perspective on it and we'll come back and see what you think about that.
I don't listen to one listen to all three of them. He already got his opinion on him like that. I sponsoring it too. Yeah. I you know, >> hey, I like good music.
>> Drake makes good music, you know. You know, despite what type of name he is or all that, you know, his music still be good, you know.
>> But you you can't just slay everybody in the game, especially some main, man.
>> Yeah. You made a revengeful a revengeful album, you know? If you think about what you listen to, it's not the slaps that we're used to about Drake. It's more of I'm mad. I'm mad. I got to get this off my chest because I've been holding back for two years with the world. That's >> well, you need to stop it cuz Toronto can't save you from a lot of these people that you talking about.
>> See, everybody, man.
>> Yeah. See, doing too much. all the money that's made in these particular states that these particular people live in, the New Yorks, the Californiaiforns, the the Miamiis, you know, and you slaying the wrong people. You need to digress and and and and chill out, you know.
Chuck, please, man. I I I've heard comments that this is some light [ __ ] >> Oh, hell no. speaking about the Drake and his feelings and stuff like that and being real soft emotionally or whatever.
>> Oh, no. I been hurt about that.
>> Me and you being on the the the the other side of the, you know, the the light spectrum.
>> Yes.
>> Towards that towards that end of the spectrum.
>> Oh, man. I've not really like say I I've I've I've heard that not directly toward directly towards me, but I always kind of had like a little chip.
>> The women's does that. The women the women uh um uh what's the word I'm looking for? The women makes you define what's the difference between light-kinned and dark skin. Like my [ __ ] Bri dark 10:30 in the woods. I think he's sexy. 759.
>> You know, [ __ ] He think he's sexy and he think that darker skin is sexier than light. This is from [ __ ] This this this this actually comes from [ __ ] Guys, what I'm saying, >> you know, guys are the ones saying lightkinned [ __ ] are soft. Guys are saying lightkinned [ __ ] is pretty boys and a female saying that [ __ ] It's a [ __ ] saying that [ __ ] And so I automatically, you know, by seeing that grew up kind of on the defense that I wasn't going to allow any of that energy to go any farther than what what you you know, we correct mistake up a lot of >> Did you hear growing up like say high school cop, you know, uh as you in your teenage years, your adult young adult years, when did When did you start hearing this?
>> [ __ ] in my life. Uh, >> you been lightkinned in my life. You knew light-skinned ass Steph carry A THOMAS LOOKING ASS. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IT became like a big topic until until I was like in middle school. I said because of Chico Dear and you know they was before you was in middle school.
[ __ ] Hold on. Hold on. Let me say something. Let me ch in your right name.
I'm going say this. I remember growing up that's true like early 90s since that's what I ain't feeling early ' 90s [ __ ] was all about dark skin [ __ ] bro that's going to be movies nights mor like sex rap like I'm saying I'm saying like in Hollywood darkkinned [ __ ] was always in like you last year Hold up. You [ __ ] had good hair.
>> You [ __ ] WONDER a little bit.
>> I'm telling you for the day kids.
>> Light-kinned [ __ ] had good hair.
That's all you [ __ ] had going for y'all. Now had But this [ __ ] don't. But I'm going to say you [ __ ] had good hair and that's what it was, bro.
I mean, this is good up on these way. It's way know y'all halfway through the show. But >> no, no, [ __ ] I ain't I ain't let you get >> Let me tell you, man. I mean, lightkinn has always been in. It's the really dark guys that's always wanted to get to the level of the light.
>> Hold on. It's always been pretty damn easy for the light. Dark [ __ ] had to come Tony paid a light [ __ ] >> But see, this is this is this is what I'm talking about. This is the discussion.
>> Yeah. And what I want to get to is where did that originate from? You know what I'm saying? What what what what happened in history >> that some light-skinned [ __ ] was like, >> you know, it originated from slavery.
>> Originated from slavery cuz the light-skinned person would always become the house [ __ ] because it was lighter.
The dark skinned was demonized like say the rat or the roach. You know what I'm saying? They can turn the rats too. So I'm just saying they demonized. Okay?
You know, you see a rat, it immedately is demonized. You know, some people look at them as pet some people is just the worst thing in the world, [ __ ] But dark skinned is demonized. So when you're lightkinned, you're kind of winning a little bit. You're halfway through.
I would rather be more just brown skin.
I ain't going to lie. Light skin is cool. I wish I had a little bit more >> in between. My [ __ ] want to be in between and I get that.
>> But what about that black [ __ ] Andy Elvis? I know he's real dark.
>> I'm just saying I'm just saying I want to see you. You don't go man. Don't go man. I can I think Michael Jordan was dark kid. I THINK LEBRON JAMES a little BIT ON DARK KIDS SIDE. THE GREATEST TWO PLAYERS EVER PLAYED GAME. Man probably steak burns back.
Yes, sir.
>> Kenyon Martin, >> but go ahead.
>> Okay. I heard you, [ __ ] [ __ ] I mean, >> that's why I feel like I feel like I'm very overs.
>> Who was THE HARDEST [ __ ] ON THE STAGE?
AH, that [ __ ] with that hard feet cuz that nigga's feet was hard to move.
That [ __ ] was stubbing [ __ ] [ __ ] THE BACK [ __ ] TAKING MY light and that nigga's toenails curled over the toe.
>> The [ __ ] ae man, Anthony Edwards, man.
What y'all think about, man? What just happened recently, man? him. Uh they going they in the third round going against the uh Spurs and this man gets out. Was it about like 8 minutes before the game's over? About 8 minutes and he's dapping up.
>> It was 8 minutes exactly.
>> This man gaps up the spines. Did y'all find a problem with that? It was going to be about 50 >> 50. The only problem I got is Let me tell you this. I don't know no competitor that's going to go with eight minutes to go in the game. I I don't care if I'm down 40. If it's 8 minutes to go in the game, I know at least back in the day when NBA was real, you better play until the damn clock run out. 8 minutes is a long time in the NBA. A long time. A good five threes, you know, you back in it half, you know, at least halfway in it. And with eight minutes to go to do that, that's the only downfall >> that that I just I really don't don't don't like tape.
>> I I really can't understand that tape.
I'm old school, too.
>> Yes.
>> And I went up went over there and gave him depth and stuff, you know, to the end of the game because it kind of feels like you're submitting.
>> Yes.
>> Even though everybody in the building knows that the probability of coming back from this this deficit is like, >> you know, astronomical. It's not going to happen. But the fact of the matter is you don't show any signs that you quit >> and it's game seven, >> man. It's to the end. I'm on vacation after this. It's >> a bet.
>> You know, I'm on vacation after this.
And you know, man, that's my guy.
Antman's my second favorite player in the NBA, man. Well, he's my third guy.
>> Yeah.
Same here. Wouldn't be an which is uh I think man I want Ant-Man to be the the face of the >> I do too for real. I ain't going to lie.
I do. I want speaking of the face of NBA as far as Ant-Man. They want him to be too. First it was J. He messed it up.
They want Antne to be because Wimat's from France and SGA is from Canada. So they need Ant to be because he's American. A really So he needs to really really step up. And he's got personality, that character there. Good looking young man. Uh you got to get some chips. You know what I'm saying?
All about getting them chips. So you got to get into some rumbles and play.
>> It's a lot to come with it. But I think he's built for all that, man. You know, he be to criticize some of the [ __ ] that he do like that right there. Okay. She didn't play good in the NBA Allstar game a year ago. He they was like, uh, he, you know, what, you know, you kind of have a nonchalant attitude towards it.
But this year when they came out and ball, the Allar game was good. I mean, really set the tone, but it was really competitive and they were aggressive and they they they ball. So I think he he can he can change is what I'm saying. I want you know he'll grow and you know I don't think he he's he shut down like you he probably didn't feel like he did anything wrong. I think someone speaks on it to him he can >> an example of change but San Antonio before the season you wouldn't have thought none of this was going to occur.
>> But but but I'm saying this though man the whole catch is this [ __ ] you fight till you can't fight no more. I'm telling you, man.
>> [ __ ] all that dapping up happy ass happy meal ass [ __ ] Go to McDonald's if you want a happy meal, [ __ ] Ain't no happy ass [ __ ] [ __ ] We fight [ __ ] to the death, [ __ ] We ain't with none of that. Hey, E, you're still my guy. But all that shaking up [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] y'all [ __ ] This [ __ ] is bloody out with death, [ __ ] Death, dude, [ __ ] >> To be honest with you, the NBA, we at um the final four of the NBA. And I want to ask you guys the question because I my answer probably will be a little different than yours, but Mark, uh, Wag and Bri, what is more intriguing to y'all, the Eastern Conference Finals are the Western Conference Finals? Um, if you ask me first, the I think the Western Conference Finals is a is really the NBA Finals. I believe the winner of the show back series will go on and be the eventual uh finals champion.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh I said before the draw started about mid-season. Me did the show and we gave our opinions on who we thought would be come out the east and we thought would come out the west and I was wrong. I had San Antonio and Detroit. You know one of mine's already gone. You know we Detroit.
>> Yeah. Detroit's gone.
>> You have New York.
>> I definitely both had Detroit.
>> New York.
>> Yeah. And uh I had San Antonio.
>> San Antonio.
>> No, I'm talking about your final four was Detroit in your final. I mean, not Detroit.
>> [ __ ] I had Lakers, [ __ ] I [ __ ] I had the Lakers and I had San Antonio.
That's what I had.
>> You didn't pick a final four. We just thought uh we come out the East and the West, right?
>> But I wanted to be the Lakers, but like he said, >> we both kind of agreed that it would be San Antonio. We ain't surprised with what San Antonio did. Not surprised at all.
>> Okay. Okay. I'm I'm very surprised San Antonio cuz I I didn't think women was over there. Man, that man's a star. But you know, as far as you surprised I'm very surprised.
>> Hold on. Women, you're surprised that they will they beat Minnesota? You surprised?
>> No, I'm surprised at at his success up to this point.
>> Because this man didn't show this last year. I didn't think it would have only take 3 years to get to this point. the man is becoming a star overnight, meaning he's he's hitting game time, gamewinning shots, and winning the game at the end. He he's the reason they went to overtime twice. Last year, he was second defensive player of the year, right?
>> Uh they started to get MVP votes and this year he was I think third MVP voting. Uh Brian Joic and uh Shay, let me go a little one step further.
Uh I believe that he is currently the best player in basketball to the NBA. I think that it was a statement game that he made last night when they first uh the the uh first game of the uh Western Conference Finals uh at OKC in front of OKC's crowd. Shay getting the MVP award that night. Crowd going nuts. You know what I'm saying? And he steps on the floor and gives him 41 24 and three.
>> And you know it's from as you say. I mean I believe that that game right there kind of amazing from all >> I already knew. No, he was already a superstar. He was in third in MVP and he won the defensive player of the year.
Those are superstar.
You were superstars. You can do both of that. Now, you put uh um the the the big white guy, what's his name? Uh uh uh uh OKC.
>> OKC Chad Homegr and uh uh I can't think of his name.
>> Height uh whatever hype and burger look.
I think that you you have to do that to make up a little bit of the height advantage that Frankenstein >> brings to the table. I mean, Victor brings the table. He is a tough He's a tough guy.
>> Arkansas.
>> But you know something I think my opinion man I mean I know Shay Gil Alexander just got MVP. I think Shay Wil is a great player but I do not think he is >> all that like you said he is. I think well let me tell you miss the man has had 20 points in every game this season 20 plus points he's averaging 30 the whole the whole game the whole series he hasn't had a game man a bad game yet he might have had a bad shooting game every time >> they might have they might have swept the Lakers and got the room out my [ __ ] out of it the Lakers all this is not >> [ __ ] had [ __ ] They put the they put them two men on that [ __ ] That [ __ ] that [ __ ] don't get me wrong, Shane is cool, but I just ain't off of him like everybody else is. I'm just trying, bro.
I'm just keeping it all way real. The man, I can't take nothing away from him [ __ ] But that look, >> he's good. He's a good guy. Really good dude. They said I think got the second MVP war. He uh got everybody on the team. He said 500,000. I sold the team in gifts and he got everybody a AP auto watch and a discount last year too >> and he bought personal gifts like he bought I think Jay will I think he got like a a Burberry trench coat he got somebody else some other [ __ ] I been playing >> but guess what them [ __ ] ain't going to be with you your whole career player >> no time is great time man [ __ ] be tired [ __ ] for the monkey ass nick award the man award But today I got a good one for y'all.
This This guy This guy right here might already been the final four uh man award recipient.
>> Show off.
>> Okay.
The butt snipper standby.
You bring >> a 39year-old man dubbed butt snuckering by local authorities was sentenced to 99 days in jail after a series of strange incidents. He was arrested for sexually harassing female customers by snipping their behinds at Burbank and Glendale California businesses like Nordstrom Rag and Walgreens.
I'm on the butt sniffer side. One one thing one thing. One thing, one thing, one thing. Now, fellas, hear me out now.
Y'all too nervous not to hear me.
>> Professor ass.
>> I have smelt some asses out.
>> Yes, I have.
>> All right, let me give y'all a scenario.
>> I'm around with a female. You know, she get in the car. You know, we riding around. You know, we we you know, we listen to music. We hang stinky.
>> Okay, I'm going to tell you. So, you know, she go, we pull up to a gas station. I'm like, "Hey, babe, go get me 30 on pump 9."
When she get out my car and go get me 30 on pump 9, I might smell her [ __ ] Got to KNOW IF IT'S TRASH, [ __ ] before I get in it tonight.
You know what I'm getting into.
Know if it's a do not enter, do not trespass. I need to know these signs.
>> You going to be able to smell you be able to tell all that about sick.
>> No, but she farted before she got up.
>> And her butt really don't stink. She just let a little light boo. It was pee.
I ain't going to lie. I be like, "So, what you doing?"
My stomach hurt a little bit, baby. I got I got a stomach problem. I might have to real care. She might not even be one of them people with a smell issue.
Just >> I'm just saying, man. Ain't nothing wrong with listening. What that guy did was hideous. I'm saying you dog sniffing other dogs.
>> I'm a dog, [ __ ] >> Chuck be a dog named Brook.
>> [ __ ] spill dog backwards, [ __ ] >> The [ __ ] you mean, man?
Oh, man.
Hey, >> I mean, did you have you ever slept in the red one?
>> Yes.
>> Do you even man your mission?
>> Yeah.
>> Abortion the abort.
>> Abortion now. Have you ever ate a ass in your life?
>> Listen, man. All right. Look, bro. [ __ ] you going.
person show your ass. We tell like this ass eating is popular today. Okay.
I don't care what nobody say. Y'all can just A lot of you [ __ ] eat ass and a lot of you [ __ ] eat ass, too. Wo. A lot of people got the ass hate.
>> I don't know what's going on today, but they had a [ __ ] What's that song? And you got to eat the booty like groceries.
You know what's playing on the radio?
>> Oh, when it was popular is STILL POPULAR.
>> IT'S STILL POPULAR. OH, CAN YOU ACT LIKE ASS? When do you determine when you eat ass?
>> When you eat ass?
>> No, I'm just saying that the the first date, the 10th date, almost in a relationship. When is when is the statue of limitation on that? See, >> I ain't going to lie. I remember back in the day, y'all, when we was growing up, oral sex was not popular.
>> It wasn't.
>> I ain't going to lie. Like, keep it up.
Like I remember when I was growing up like it be like I ain't going to put my mouth on you boys and girls nobody nobody want to put their mouth on problem for women but it was problem for me.
>> I'm saying I'm saying I knew girls back then like I ain't giving you no head but you know why? Cuz they didn't want the embarrassment to be like hey she gave me some head. Nobody wanted that back in the day. Let's just keep it a tweet. Well, it wasn't cool for a man to eat no [ __ ] but it was cool to get head. You was a hell of a [ __ ] if you got some head. Uh, girl, I think it was more cuz uh a white a white man's uh white woman. A white man's like thing they used to say when I was coming up that the white boys was the one that was eating, you know.
>> Oh, red wings. I heard that.
>> Yes, I heard white boys get their red wings. You know what rings mean, fell?
>> Yeah. Yeah. What does it mean?
>> I don't care to get into it.
>> You know what? You never know what happens.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah. Cheeks.
>> Cheeks.
>> You know, um eating ass.
>> Okay. Say it, [ __ ] >> Uh say your profession, [ __ ] >> I mean, you know, I done um I done seen it done.
>> Have you done it, man?
Five. Hey, there ain't some cheats, [ __ ] >> You a little butt cracker. You under my belt. It wasn't cool.
>> You got trophy. I ain't get no I going for the trouble.
>> Yeah, you got wanted a participation award. That's all I wanted was the participation award cuz it it just ain't nothing that thrills me.
>> Okay.
>> You know, so I'm not getting ready to be naive and say I didn't participate.
>> I can respect that. But uh and even being a recipient of it, I'm not into >> I was going that was my ass.
>> I'm not really into not to say that it ain't tried it one or two times, man.
But I just it ain't more one or two [ __ ] >> under three.
>> Three.
It's many little kids. They be like I'm this many you got your ass this maybe five. He wouldn't even say three. 13.
>> I ain't afraid of trying to lift my leg up in the in the discussion in the comment section.
>> What's up?
>> Listen y'all.
Put whatever you think about that in the comment section. Uh, you know, I'm not touching that topic right there. My question is, do you think that ass eating is popular?
>> Is that what we going to call it? that eating groceries is more popular now than it ever was back in history. We just now like heard about this stuff that have been going on since the morning. So let let us let us know what you think about it.
So you know what fellas, this weekend we was out I was outside, right? And um you know uh they had a little event outside of Wags hair salon and 801 West Broadway. Come get your haircut.
Come get your hair did man and female welcome. So I f to say this, you know, uh you know they had a event woman was out there. She was uh selling uh chicken tacos, steak tacos, and beef tacos, right? And uh a lady, young lady came up to me and it was like she told me the menu and uh I told her I said, "Uh, baby girl, you know uh" said something double beef. She said, "What you mean double beef?" I said, "Uh, you do know steak and beef comes from a cow, right?" She's like, "Uh, yeah." I said, "But beef."
And she was like, "What do you mean?" I said, "Listen, steak is beef, okay?
You have to kill a cow. Cow out.
>> Cuz she said I mean what she saying wasn't beef. I mean what was what was who who said it wasn't beef?
>> Well I told her I said damn. So I said y got chicken steak and beef. I said baby girl y got double beef. She's like baby got double beef. I said baby girl you got steak and you got beef. If you go kill a [ __ ] cow going to be ground beef. I guess that's what I'm missing.
So you got steak and you got beef. She got two she got chicken tacos. She got steak tacos. She got ground beef tacos.
What he's saying is that she is implicating that there's a difference between steak and beef.
>> Bri is indicating that steak and beef is the same thing.
>> What she What was she saying?
>> It's like when I told her I said, "Oh, so y'all selling double beef?" She was like, "What you mean double beef? We got steak, we got beef, and we got chicken.
So little had it more of a tent.
>> Makes a difference.
>> Yeah. So I had to tell you, "Hey, baby girl, you you know if you go kill a cow, it it becomes ground beef and they take uh Hey, y'all can go do your research and please leave this in the comments.
Have y'all heard of this thing called meat goo. Actually, if you go kill a cow, anybody, there's not such thing as a t-bone, a red eyee, a shawan. You kill that big [ __ ] and you chop it and you and you form it.
>> One.
>> No. Ain't no one [ __ ] put two zeros behind my one, [ __ ] >> Put two zeros behind my one. Anybody with common sense, have logic, know if you take your monkey ass out there and kill a cow, you ain't getting the t-bone. Damn it. You're not getting a ribeye.
>> Now cut the the way you cut the meat and the way the meat is um is um is is is uh conditioned or you know, you know, trained or or worked out is the way the meat is marbled in the cow. So when they cut the meat on certain areas of the cow, depending on how healthy the cow is is where the fat is marbled inside the meat. So it's not that it's put together by meat glue is how the cow is treated to where the fat is marbled within the meat.
Okay. Incorrect. I want y'all to go in y'all Google search people and I'm going to see you Google meat goo. That's going to show you.
>> I'm not saying it's not liar. No, it is real. You just said it was real. You're not going to get value. I'm not letting you live. You're dying today. Just like that [ __ ] cow and y'all going to make these [ __ ] goofy ass. That's why people when y'all be eating them ri them t-bones and I feel that little what's that chewy gooey that [ __ ] in it.
[ __ ] eating glue. He's a He's a professional meat glue eater.
>> HE'S A PROFESSIONAL.
>> YOU SEE THIS BAD BOY?
>> I promise you, man. You know what I'm saying? So, all we want is all I'm saying is go do your research. Y'all own me.
>> And hey, steak is fake. Ain't no such steak as no [ __ ] steak. Hang up with it anyway, [ __ ] >> Cow wow. Bow wow. Bow.
>> Uh, what do you think about Louisville Sports today and the recruiting process of the great Pel City? that Pel has put on the show.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, he has We only had two returning players from last year's roster.
>> Okay.
>> Uh we had Adrien Wley >> who really took over for Marquel Brown Jr. when he was down with back injury, but was like a uh uh sixman off the bench type of player. But uh he did start a bunch of games cuz like I said, Brown was hurt. And we had a guy named London John London I think Johnson is coming back. Okay.
>> And he didn't get any minutes. He's an interesting uh guy though because he actually went from high school straight to uh the GBA and played there for a couple years and now he's actually going back to play college basketball. I know some his eligibility. He can do that [ __ ] now in in college sports. But anyway, that's all we have coming back. So Pat had got to build a whole new roster >> like they do.
>> And oh man, we you know we really got we got my man back. Uh we back messing with dude uh Papa John.
>> Okay.
We back with him. We we everybody everybody said they peace and we moved on. He done apologized and he didn't gave up a shitload of money to University of Louisville.
money check with them to spend it how they want to spend it.
>> Get it how you so it's not just about you know having enough money to get the talent. You got to get the the right talent that fits your fit your program has done a wonderful job that man I really >> he the mixtures of his eyes and cross his tees. Yeah.
>> Yeah man. He have a mixture of seniors juniors and freshman. the number one, you know, the number one portal class, uh the number one portal player, which is uh the guy and we have a very strong I think we got a top five uh uh recruiting class from the 27th cycle.
>> Ry's doing a hell of a job.
>> Hell of a So, what you're saying is we ain't to be [ __ ] with you, man. We got one more player we after name or whatever like that. Right now he's at the NBA the combine's over NBA combine's over May 27th by then he's got to make a decision if he's going to stay in the NBA or if he's going to come back to college. Most of the times when they touch the money like that they stay that first round pick because first round is guaranteed money. But if they if they projected to be a second round pick they usually come back to college they game and try to get that first round to get that first guaranteed money. So it's they thinking that you probably come back to college. If you come back to college is between Louisville St. John's and camp in Kentucky and Louisville might be you know really in it. This game is a world class shooter. He's 6'8 48% from three-point line. He's a light tap shooter. Okay.
>> I mean a great 48%. No life points a game last year. Pat him will automatically be a top three by his team going into the preseason.
>> However, Pat Kelsey has brought the ADHD uh type of personal defenses, you know what I mean?
>> Yeah, he's going that Duke that that that you know uh Kansas with these big name schools, Arizona and stuff, man. I mean, we're right there.
>> We up there.
>> Yeah, we right there, man.
>> I think it's our turn. I think they want more than everybody having a chance to win every We hired two more coaches. We hired two assist we let two assistant coaches go and hire two coaches. One of them's a defensive specialist coach and one of them is a big man specialist coach. So, you know, we we we got uh the number one big man uh yeah coming out of high school and he reg I'm going to tell you the approach he went he went with the approach that Michigan went. Michigan got a whole lot of big players, meaning 6'5 and up like a Houston but with a point guard.
>> Exactly.
>> And uh so he went after that model and got all these tall players because size wins. Size athleticism is just wins, man. Here lately it's a trend thing and he don't picked up at the right time.
You know what?
A lot of this shit's true. A lot of [ __ ] they got going on be clickbait, man.
>> Okay.
>> Just like Jaylen Bro, >> okay, >> going at Stephen A. Smith. Well, Stephen A Smith going to J. You going slice it.
>> Yeah. Uh Steve received a whole lot of flack, man. The conversation I saw, but it been sent back from a few months ago.
>> Yeah. It's been ongoing ongoing type stuff. Bro, it really got back. He left when Jaylen Brown recently said this was his best his favorite season.
>> He did, but he told Stephen he stayed he told Stephen a Smith [ __ ] lead the network about that.
>> I know. I know.
>> He told this was his best season.
>> He said it was his best season and factory they you know they they exited the first round of the playoffs this year. uh uh his best his best his sidekick J Jason Tatum was injured all year and you know you'll say that this is your best year when you don't want to ship before >> with that same guy >> and you know how can how is that not your best year so Stephen A spoke on that and you put Don Brand responded just saying >> now I believe I'm a Stephen A guy but I believe >> you look like Stephen A's son >> but I believe Stephen A >> with a better hairline >> is bound boundaries on this one. I believe that uh he didn't just didn't have to speak on that. You know, he let the man have his own opinion.
>> I agree. I agree. I agree.
>> You know, you let them, you know, >> really threatened him though.
>> Yeah. After, you know, things were said back and forth. Stephen A comes with the now he puts 10 on two >> and then threaten basically something that can maybe harm his career. You know, >> but what you mean?
>> Like I believe that my best year will be when I'm controlling the team also. You know what I'm saying? And he did well this year controlling the team. I looked at a lot of Boston games. They had a little point guard, a little short white fella, uh, WS, what what's his name that shot the threes?
>> Pritchard.
>> Barrel. Yeah, Pritchard.
>> Man, Pritchard had a comeback of the year type of year, >> man. The Pritchard did just as good as a Jaylen 17 points. But getting back to the point, I believe Stephen H. Smith overstepped his boundaries. I believe he's trying to exert or, you know, uh uh use a lot of power that he's gained over over the last couple of years in the ESPN field or the anal, you know, the analyst field and he's trying to use it to overpower the young fellow. You see, you know, they said that last year that J Brown wasn't uh endorsable, that that's where they didn't have any sneakers. He doesn't have any uh endorsements or commercials or anything like that because the NBA and organization look at him as if he's, you know, too woke or whatever and that, you know, he doesn't fit the the you know, >> okay, >> what they trying to sell.
>> I got you. I got you.
>> So, you know, he got left off the Olympic team. You know what I'm saying?
Uh, and uh, you know, uh, Derek White went, uh, Drew Holiday went and, uh, Jason Tatum went. Those three went off the team. You don't take Jason. I mean, you don't take Jaylen Brown. You know, he felt just about that. You know, he probably want to prove himself this year. Okay. I ain't happy that Jason Tatum's hurt, but man, he is hurt.
Everybody thinks that we ain't going to be [ __ ] They finished second in the East and, you know, in the regular season. You know what I'm saying? He was an MVP candidate for a while. Smoke on that court.
He probably was smoking marijuana. But speaking of smoking marijuana, I was thinking about, you know, one day I was talking to the fellas about, you know, uh, parents and and and their their children smoking smoking weed. And I just wanted to know what do y'all think is an appropriate age to allow your your child to to smoke weed in front of you or with you or around you in today's time. Cuz I know when I was coming up, you know, 18 was the lowest if you even did it period. No matter how old you was. All right, let me chime in and say this. I'mma tell you what my mama said and where I'm on. What my mama told me and my brother when we was growing up. She said, "Look, I know y'all [ __ ] is smoking weed. I smell it when y'all come in the house." But so my mama, I was about maybe 16. Bro was about 18. And she said, "If y'all going to smoke weed, I can smoke it in this house." We only because I don't want y'all going out here smoking the wrong thing. My mama let us do it in the house. Now time passes where I'm at today. I'm a father. I got a child. I got a son. 14 years old.
[ __ ] hold on. Wait a minute. My mama did say this too. [ __ ] they ain't smoking it with me. So y'all can smoke in his house, but not with me. So I tell my son, I don't smoke no more. So I don't think my son should smoke.
That's my opinion. I don't think my son should smoke weed because I don't smoke it and I don't think I would smoke it with me if I did smoke. That's my opinion on anything else. I had a son uh at a junior.
He no longer with me. But IP or IP, but when he was 15 years old, I didn't smoke marijuana.
When he was 15 years old, I had already knew my son. He was living with me. All right. And he been living with me since I like 12. But I knew that he smoked weed. I've seen things in his room that were paraphamilia of smoking marijuana, but he didn't do it in the house or around me. But you just know your check.
You know what I'm saying? You know, and if you smoke, you you kind of see what's going on, right? That's right. You know what I'm saying? Exactly.
So, he had gotten into a situation, you know, he had got in some trouble and he was going to have to go to a a boy camp.
And we knew that I had to take him downtown at like 6:00 in the morning the next day, excuse me, in order to, you know, push him and go on camp or whatever. Turn stuff in and go camp. So that night he sitting on the moon and I broke up two blocks. I'm sitting on the table.
Told him that I know he had been smoking weed. You know what I'm saying? And it wasn't something we was going to always do. But we smoke tonight.
>> I'm going tell you, man. I um I raised seven children and uh my youngest is 21, my oldest is 29 and they all in between.
And uh I've been through the gauntlet about this weed thing. And the generation changed when I came up. You just didn't do it with your parents no matter what. You didn't even smoke. They didn't even know you smoke weed. You better just had it. type [ __ ] >> to um to to seeing a lot of parents as you know as my kids got you know decades start going by I started seeing parents accepting it more but I still couldn't accept it. Um however I knew and seen some things but as a parent it don't come with a manual you just know what to put action with. The question is an appropriate age. I let my daughter that I can recall one my you know one one my daughter two of my daughters I let them smoke that starting at 17 I believe it in 2000 in the 2000s 17 the way weeds is promoted the way marijuana is promoted that 17 was kind of appropriate you got to be 18 to purchase it at the store you know they got uh dispensaries and stuff now so now that it's kind of like legalized It's like, you know, I would say that they if you wish to get a general answer for that, yeah, 17, 18, whatever the legal smoking age is now, 18 or whatever it is.
>> Mhm. 21.
You got You can't buy cigarettes or if you got 21. Okay.
>> That's what's so crazy.
>> Is that dispensary [ __ ] too?
>> Yeah. Dispensary. I I don't know. I don't know if it's I think it's 18 to be honest with you. The dispensaries right between one I think it's federal fellas uh murder run has always been a recreational drug anyway you know what I'm saying it's something that you do my thing I think my my mama always said it to me because she always made this fella she always said I'm not your friend I'm your mother first >> and that's why I think my mama never said that to me the one where I can smoke she said you can smoke in this house but you can't smoke with me and I will and I can respect it >> to the community of the thing is podcast. What we like for y'all to do in the beginning of a show and at the end of the show, we always like y'all to like, subscribe, share, and comment on the podcast. You know what I'm saying?
Because we do read all comments and uh we've been getting a lot no matter if they good or bad. Trust me, we see everything like the owl.
So, at this time of the podcast, as we wrapping on up, we always like to end it off with a good word from the big dog, Wags, the Bird. Take us on out, big dog.
A snake can shed his skin, but at the end of the day, it's still a snake.
So, you know, that right there, the meaning to me is like if you know somebody ain't right and they put on a smile on the face and act in order to get in your company or whatever like that, just Oh, that's an act that that person is still >> a [ __ ] up individual.
>> It's not going to happen today. Fact, you know who they really are.
>> And they shown you that and people know who will show you who they are. You just got to believe it.
>> Yeah. You know, even the first time I see >> Yeah. Like you can you can talk about a person so much and then you better believe they talking about you or somebody else. Huh, man.
>> Yeah, that's right. Now with that being said, I'm Brill and I'm W.
>> I'm Chuck P.
>> And this is the thing is podcast episode 13.
