The video poignantly captures the erosion of the American social contract, where basic physical security has become a luxury attainable only through self-exile. It serves as a sobering indictment of a society that prioritizes ideological rigidity over the fundamental safety of its citizens.

She Left the US for Europe | Her Reason Will Break Your Heart | An American Reacts
Added:What would it take for you to decide to leave the only place you've ever called home? That's a huge decision. And I wanted to take a look at some people that have made that decision. Hello. I made that decision. And it's it's it's a tough decision. There's so much more that comes with it. It's more than just deciding that you're going to go somewhere that's better. I mean the ch the quality of your life changes but also you know it can be a little lonely sometimes because you come to a place like here in Spain where you don't speak the language and you know that makes it a little a little more difficult not to I know people are going to say well just learn the language I am learning the language I can communicate I can talk to people but not like how I I used to you know it's just it's just as simple as that but anyway I wanted to have a series here where we just take a look at the reasons that people leave the United States and I I think you might find it interesting. I know I have. Just kind of hearing some of their stories. This is going to be a lot of fun here. Before we get going, go ahead and like the video.
That really does help a lot. Let's see what we can see.
It was 2019 >> and I was in my family's food truck and all of the sudden I heard gunshots >> and a girl named Aaron was shot in the head >> just steps away from where we were and I saw it.
>> Oh wow. I saw her and up until a couple of minutes ago when I looked for the article so I could show you >> responders for how they handled the deadly shooting at first Friday event last week.
>> Oh, I wish I could >> they handled the deadly.
>> Trying to see where this is.
I can't really tell.
food truck crew where first Friday's shooting victim was killed reflects on tra tragedy. First Friday sounds like uh I know in some cities maybe in the summer the first Friday of the month they have like everybody goes out and sits out at the you know at the park or fair or something like that. So sounds like that's what that is. Okay. I was just trying to see if I knew where that was. I I can't tell. shooting at First Friday event last week.
>> They didn't hesitate. They didn't duck down. They didn't even flinch. They ran towards the shooter immediately.
>> Now, Whitney and her mom, Deb, run the Mad Greek food truck. They say the victim, Aaron Langhoffer, was just steps away from their truck when she was shot and killed.
>> Oh, wow. We're a family business and we just feel so, you know, now connected to the to Aeron's family and just want to do everything that we possibly can to, you know, help them and help the family.
I know the ter the horror and the terror of being in the moment, but I don't know the loss.
>> Very emotional for everybody involved.
>> And I think Whitney is the food truck owner and this is Whitney right here.
I didn't even remember the interview because >> the PTSD from that time is so strong that I have erased it from my memory.
But the truth is that after that night, my entire world view was changed forever because >> my dad was outside.
>> My brother had come to visit me that night.
several several friends and it could have been any one of them and it could have been me.
And I thought to myself, is this going to be another mass shooting?
Um, so I went to a emergency therapy session and I was diagnosed with PTSD and weeks later I was on a pre-scheduled flight to Greece for the summer.
And the moment that my plane landed, I felt a sense of safety rush over my body in a way that I will never forget.
And then I knew that I didn't want to go back, but I had to.
And that was 2019. So, we wouldn't move until several years later, >> until after I had my child.
And then you've already happened.
>> Oh, and all of those children in this place that they were supposed to feel.
>> I think Yuvaldi was a school shooting in Texas, I believe, if I remember that correctly.
the most safe.
And I remember walking down the stairs in my house that we had built to be exactly where we wanted it to be.
And I told my husband, "I can't do it. I can't live here." And he agreed for the first time ever that we would move before Zoe went to school. So, we did just that. We packed a container and moved to Greece and I haven't looked back.
>> So, when I say I moved to Greece for my little girl, I mean it with every >> bone in my body.
She will never do an active shooter drill and she will never have a bulletproof insert in her backpack and she will grow up a happy, healthy, safe little kid.
And there is crime everywhere. But the system that has been built in the United States and the access to guns doesn't exist here. It is not a constitutional right and it will not happen overnight.
>> Right? So if this resonates with you, this is why I do what I do. This is why I help Americans move. This is why I am here in a place that I have known since I was 14 years old where I feel my highest self.
>> Wow.
Dang.
I mean, I can't even imagine. You know, fortunately for us, our boys were older when we came here. I mean, they're not they're men. So, we didn't have that worry of being, you know, having young kids. I can't even imagine. I do have a niece and nephew who they have to go through active shooter drills all the time. Like I and I I can't even imagine that when I was in school, we had earthquake drills because I lived in California and you know, you had to practice getting under the desk or what you would do in the event of an earthquake. But active shooter drills is just crazy. And I have a lot of people who say that they don't they think people like Whitney here is overexaggerating or that I'm overexaggerating.
And you know, I grew up in North Las Vegas where it was pretty rough when I was growing up there. And there were a lot of people, a lot of my friends who had guns, who were in gangs, who shot people, who were shot. I had a friend that was killed. That was in school. But still, it's like first day of school. I think I may I've told this story before, but it was the first day of school. It was a year after I had graduated, but my younger brother was still there and he was with him at the time with my friend and you know the first day of school the way it worked at least in Las Vegas is that all of the gangs weren't expelled yet. So it just it was going to be a fight on the first day of school every year and then they get expelled and then that's it, you know, for the rest of the year for a lot of them. And so it was the first day of school and they went to the gym. my brother was with him in the gym and then they started fighting and he got shot and he died right there. So, you know, those things happen. But I think it's just really interesting to see the reasons that people leave the United States and not everybody's fortunate enough to be able to up and leave. There's a lot of people there who would like to leave to like like to be in a better place. Well, hopefully you like that reaction. It's definitely something different and you know I there's so much information out there material of just you know people telling their stories and that's one of the things that I want to have on this channel. I'm trying to make this channel as diverse as possible and we want to do things like sports. We want to learn about Europe and then we just want to get an idea and give people a platform who you know want to come to Europe. So hopefully you like that. If you did, then subscribe to the channel, man. It's really easy and it's free. My name is Greg. I'll catch you on the next video.
