Successful reselling requires careful calculation of all costs including shipping, fees, and sourcing expenses, as flat rate shipping strategies can significantly impact profit margins; sellers must analyze each item's total cost versus potential selling price to ensure profitability, and understanding market demand and pricing dynamics is essential for making informed sourcing decisions.

I Tried Reselling to Pay Off My Credit Card Debt | Week 2Added:
Am I the only one who's just finding out that you can get free USPS ground advantage shipping stuff? And the only way you can get them is by going on Poshmark. They'll deliver them to your house. And on that note, we've got some stuff to bag and tag. Baby, we've changed up our pricing strategy on eBay. So, we've been selling a lot more, but our prices our our our net returns are going to are going to suffer a little bit from this. This is Boulder Dash. I bought it for $7.77. It sold for $25 including shipping. I did flat rate shipping on this item. My $10 flat rate shipping actually ended up costing me $134 on this item. I didn't lose money on this item. I made 39. Oh, next up, another sealed board game which sold pretty fast. I got this one also for $777. Also set up for $10 ground advantage shipping flat rate. Sold pretty quickly. I ended up losing $2.72 on this game. Yeah, I'm learning the flat rate shipping game. You know, I'm gonna learn the hard way a couple times here with with flat rate shipping, and that's that's that's a bummer. Okay, next up is this Panasonic uh camcorder.
I bought this for $20. It sold for $59 after shipping and fees. I'm netting $201 on this item. I also did do $10 USPS ground advantage uh flat rate shipping for this item, too. This could be the reason why this sold. This is like a a Dbrand kill switch steam deck. Basically like a little case for like a handheld video game system. Bought it for $380 at the Goodwill. Sold for $34.99, $5 flat rate advantage shipping. And this item sold to someone all the way in San Diego. So I ended up paying a little bit more money than that. So I'm netting $14.92 after shipping and fees on this item. It cost me $10.80 to ship it. would have would this item have sold had I done calculated shipping though. Next up, this set of rare Beatles eight track tapes. My total cost on these was $18 and they sold for $4022.
So after the media male shipping and fees, I netted $ 9.17 only, which is tough. Which is tough, dude. Next up here, this Big Ben alarm clock made in the USA. I bought it for 334. I did $10 USPS flat rate advantage on this item and it sold for $25 after shipping, which ended up costing me $738. I netted 1036. Last one here hurts, guys. I didn't actually film me bagging and tagging this item because my other camera died. I I I sold this this Bissell little green Pro Heat and I bought it for $25.99. Well, it sold for $42 and that's free shipping. So, because of that, I lost $4.36.
Changing your prices and your flat and flat rate shipping is is a really, really, really good strategy to sell things quickly, but you got to get really good at doing that. And I'm not quite that good. But, okay, that all happened in one day. Those were all sales from one day. So, we brush ourselves off, guys. You know, we brush ourselves off.
All right. I went to go get a coffee at lunchtime and it turned into, of course, a full-blown thrifting trip. Some really, really good items. Check this out. This was $15. This is like a tactical everyday carry bag. Maxed edition is the name of it. These things are very expensive. These little like tactical bags. Um, this is like $100 or more. I don't know. This brand does really, really well. I've never heard of it. And we'll see what we get with that old school 1980s pair of Levis's. It's got the orange tab on the back which I know is vintage. These are the 505 3430.
It's a good size. These are 976 at Goodwill. Uh next up, like one of these like sort of kangaroo pouch. This is a woman's small. Have really good demand on eBay. Desirable items and that was $6. Red enamel Dutch oven made in France. Uh Emil Henry. This exact uh Dutch oven at Target, brand new, was like over $200. And this was $777. True Religion jeans, you know, made in the USA, size 44, $10, $10.87 at Goodwill, and maybe go for 40 or 50 bucks. This is an Igloo vacuum insulated stainless steel jug, half gallon. This was $12.
Brand new. Icon Street vest. This was $6.97.
Uh Wilson's Leather Outlet. Awesome biker jacket. It's a USA soccer jersey.
Nike dry fit, size large. It was 8.23.
We are here at my favorite thrift store, guys. This is the thrift store that I used to go to when I was a teen. Of course, this thrift store now is a Savers. It's been taken over by Big Thrift. um used to be a um unique thrift store. Now it's a Savers, but I mean I find great stuff here. This is where I found the Chumbo Womba shirt. Um it's a little bit of a drive for me, but I think it's worth it. Let's go in there.
Let's see if we can find some treasures.
Let's see if uh those treasures will be worth it to sell online, make a profit.
Let's see if we could do this. Let's see if it's worth it for me driving over here.
Do you remember in a couple videos ago I uh got busted filming inside of a Savers? That was completely on the other side of town and I haven't filmed there since I stopped doing it there. But I've walked into this thrift store and I noticed the same lady who busted me is here. We might get busted in my favorite thrift store. That would suck. I'm finding some pretty good sweatpants recently, which is nice.
Look at this. I swipe while I wipe >> street flyers. Look at that. They've got the little fold out little fold out things on the bottom. So, actually these street flyers, they do pretty well online, but they sell for like 40 or 50 bucks.
However, they are 17.49.
17.49 49 for a pair of shoes that old is definitely not going to fly. Not going to fly. Check the women's clothes rack here.
Rick and Morty sweatshirt.
>> Not yet.
toys here.
Made in China and it's relatively new.
We've got this. It's It's a Black Panther phone and controller holder. Six bucks.
Two sold online. Not great. Maybe 20 bucks. All the stuff here has been priced up. I'm assuming because that manager woman's here that they're revamping their pricing strategy here.
All of the stuff is priced up really high.
And I have nothing in the cart. Nothing in the cart, guys.
It's pretty good. 20 bucks.
I looked up that label printer. It's $8.99. Sells for like 15 20 maybe.
This is the moment of truth on this little Bose unit here. They go really well online, but you know, I put the CD in, testing it, and tells us there's a CD in there, but then it gives us a CD error, which listen, a lot of you watching this are probably going to say like, you know, you could fix that up, but I'm not even going to mess with it, guys. I just I can't spend the time on another CD player that doesn't work for $21, even though it's worth maybe I don't know $100 working. The only other thing I found at the store so far is this little Instax Mini 7 Plus for $11. Let's see if this is worth it.
231.
Let me just sort by used.
191 listed. Looks like 20. This is This one. It comes with a case. Mine doesn't have a case. This is 26 27.
Um, so there's 18, there's 15, there's 16 for this exact one. $16. Yeah. And at $11. No way. We lose money. Wow. It is rare that I ever come to a place, my favorite place too, especially during the week when it's really calm and I get nothing. Of course, guys, we can always find stuff that's worth reselling.
That's not the issue really, right? It's more just the pricing. The pricing there is extremely high. What are you going to do? You get what you get. You don't get upset. In this case, we didn't get anything. Okay. We didn't get anything.
There is one Goodwill like right next to this area over here. I've been there a couple times. We drove all the way out here.
Uh and it would be nice if we came home with some treasures. All right. Now, we're at Goodwill.
Okay, guys. I finally found something.
Might not be the best, but I found something. Check this out. This is a little Fender amp. It's got the hang tags on it still, which is crazy, which is really good. Fender Frontman 10G.
And here's the catch. It's $30.
Um, I grabbed that little amp. Like I said, it looked like a quick, you know, $80, $90 flip online, but yeah, I'm looking at it and and and the and the, you know, there was a the demand on it was like was was reasonable. It was okay, but there was a lot of them listed and I just was standing there in line and the line to check out was long.
And the time that I get burned the most on items. Um, I got a couple items in my inventory right now like this. The times I get burned the most are always the times where I'm spending way too much sourcing the item. And I just was thinking 30 bucks, man. I don't know if I could justify 30 bucks for something that doesn't have a solid margin on it.
Um, so I I let it go. I let it go. So that means that we're not getting anything today. I'd love to know. Did you guys see anything in my video that you would have bought that I didn't bought that I p that I passed on? Would you have scooped it up? Did I What did I miss? Uh, but thank you for coming along on this ride with me. Hopefully, we can go out at least one or two more times again this week and get some better stuff.
All right, y'all. We've got some bagging and tagging to do tonight. We've got some better items for you. Not make yourself rich and pay off all your debt items, but we've got some breadandbut items going out. So, let's bag and tag them. Rowenta Pro Steam iron. This is like a made in Germany iron. Listed for 20 days. I got this at the Goodwill for $639. It sold for $37. After shipping and fees, I'm netting $1,733.
Next up, listed them less than one day.
This is the Kodapaxi low dose zip off pants for women's. Got it for $7.48 at Goodwill. It sold for $70. After shipping and fees, I'm netting 4461.
We're clawing our way there, guys. We're climbing. You know, we we are getting there and we're we're selling things.
We're bagging and tagging. We're listing. We're doing all we're sourcing.
We're doing all of the things that we can do. Ourselves a little pat on the back for that. And I have a whole section of stuff that's just like stuff that I got that I think is awesome and cool. And I have so many things and probably should get rid of all those things on whatnot. It would be a good good way to do it. even do $1 starts.
Why not, right? With a lot of this stuff. Thank you so much for watching this video. I'm still trying to figure out how to best show you guys my progress each week for paying off my debt in these videos. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I'm doing my best to put these videos out and I appreciate you all showing up. So, if you haven't already done so, please consider clicking that subscribe button, okay? So, I can keep doing this. You guys are the best. I'll see you soon.
