Ripple Prime, Ripple's institutional financial platform serving over 300 financial institutions with $3 trillion in annual clearing, is expanding its infrastructure through strategic partnerships (Bullish, EDX) and acquisitions to integrate XRP ledger technology for post-trade settlement, collateral mobility, and repo transactions, with Ripple Prime participating in the DTCC's NSCC system to potentially connect traditional trade volumes to the XRP ledger over time.

Did a Ripple Employee Just Hint at XRP's Next Move
Added:We just got confirmation from a Ripple employee on how big Ripple Prime is going to be for XRP. You need to pay attention to what's happening around these major acquisitions from Ripple because they do all have one thing in common. Spotlighting the potential of the XRP ledger and how strong of an asset XRP actually will be. Let's start off by talking a little bit more about the infrastructure stack in front of us.
What Ripple has acquired is fullon infrastructure that channels and ultimately covers every single thing that an institutional player will want to tap into in the internet of value.
When we think about the internet of value, obviously XRP is immediately there, at least from my point of view, because again, I go back to 2016, 2017, Ripple talking about internet of value, XRP being the heart of it. It still is, but Ripple Prime is definitely a big name. Listen, we talked about the $3 trillion per year that they clear, the 300 plus institutional customers already tied back to Ripple Prime, and then we think about what this is really going to cover. FX, precious metals, exchange traded derivatives, OTC swaps, fixed income repo, and more.
And when I think about the fixed income repo, I also think about the most recent Ripple announcement with even the UK. If we go back to that, here we have the UK announcement. Onchain funds, bonds, and repo aren't experiments. They're already happening all onchain. I do suspect that Ripple Prime is definitely going to be a big key piece to that. But then also to build on top of that, we know that Ripple Prime has been announcing major partnership after partnership after partnership. Back in the late April time period of this year, Ripple Prime did announce or Ripple announced that Ripple Prime clients can now trade Bitcoin options on Bullish and use ROUSD to trade. This is all based around institutional crypto fully integrated into the stack. Obviously, Bullish is a massive name. I've talked about them in the past. Um, this was a great announcement. Then, of course, another major announcement with Ripple Prime.
They secured $200 million debt facility from Newberger Specialty uh Finance to expand capacity. That was on May 11th.
So, this was a recent one. And this was to enhance its ability to serve new and existing institutional relationships.
And I do question like what is going to happen because of some of these announcements. Like I I would suspect that, you know, we're probably going to start to see some more announcements towards the end of the year, especially with some Ripple Prime uh potential news. Um so definitely looking forward to that. But then also we have here that Ripple Prime partners with EDX to bridge institutional access to digital asset liquidity. All within the same month they have two major expansions with Ripple Prime all based around the same exact thing. Institutional access institutional expansion and EDX is definitely a big one and it kind of goes back to like exactly what Ripple Prime is focused on, right? If we go back to those use cases and those markets, these are the key ones to focus on. And with EDX, well, EDX is definitely a big name in the game for, you know, per as well as spot trading.
Um, but then also they do focus on other markets as well within that. uh which you know obviously could definitely bridge back to Ripple Prime in a big way which is exactly why EDX actually integrated with Ripple Prime to expand access to deep transparent liquidity across spot and perp futures markets through a capital efficient framework designed for scale. So this is definitely another big one and yes ROUSD will be tapped in with this. Um, I would assume that also XRP will uh play a role as well, but this was definitely another big announcement. And then I go back to the original announcement with Hidden Road, right? Because this goes all the way back to April of 2025. And the reason why I'm bringing this up is because this is obviously from Brad Garlinghouse where he is talking about what type of value and volume can move over XRP.
He says that Ripple has been a customer of Hidden Road for years and we know their breath of expertise firsthand, clearing $3 trillion per year for 300 plus of the top financial institutions globally. This is the capital and activity that will tap into XRP and the XRP ledgers bread and butter instant, efficient, scalable, and lowcost movements of value. Instead of waiting for, you know, more than 24 hours to settle trades through fiat rails, Hidden Road will be using the XRP ledger for clearing a portion of trades and most consequentially using ROUSD as collateral across its prime brokerage services including crossasset crypto and traditional instrument trades. So, this was the confirmation that yes, XRP and XRPL will play a role. Now, since then, have we really heard too much about that? Not exactly. We really haven't heard too much regarding Ripple Prime um besides like some of these announcements which again like these announcements don't really mention much uh beyond the idea of just like Ripple Prime or like Oro USD like I have yet to see XRP being mentioned at all in any of these announcements. Even if we go back to like the bullish announcement it's USD which kind of led to a lot of people saying like all right well is Ripple Prime really integrating XRP? like were we just blowing smoke up uh XRP holders?
Well, you know, but again, it's because we haven't heard too much regarding it until now. That's right. Jazzy Cooper was on the Crippen Writer TV show, which if you guys don't know Krippen Writer, I would suggest to go check him out on X.
Um, and this is with Vet_X0.
And people talk about post-trade settlement and that Ripple Prime will eventually do exactly that on the XRP blockchain, but what even is this? Well, Jazzy Cooper perfectly explains it in great detail. Because again, what we hear over here from uh Brad Garlinghouse is like, oh, you know, we're going to see um post trade uh trades over the XRP ledger. Like, this is going to be great.
But like, what exactly does that mean?
What exactly does that mean? Well, check it out.
One second. Just noticed that my properties changed on my headset.
>> How do we do post trade settlement on XRP? What needs to happen there?
>> Yeah. Yeah. So, let's maybe unpack that a little bit. So, I I'm not sure how familiar your audience is with with post trade, but if we if we maybe break it down a little bit and and define that.
So, we have um you know, trade execution and then we have post trade. And so trade execution is where we're agreeing uh you know we're going to trade a particular asset or or set of assets at a certain price and we actually execute that trade. And then post trade is is everything that happens after that. All of the you know the paperwork the settlement the the custody arrangement you know all of the ugly stuff.
sometimes collateral is involved in collateral mobility and there so there's a lot of complexity in the post-trade you know aspect of a trade and and I think that problem is only increased over time in that you know front office is easy right like we hop on Robin Hood we hop on Erade we execute our trade and we have nice UIs um and that can scale really really quickly but the post trade aspect cannot right like we have multiple parties that need to engage across multiple geographies we need to move assets heck you know I'm pretty sure fax machines are still used in in post trade. So it's um it and ultimately it's it's that least common denominator that's going to hold up uh the whole system. Uh and so I think there's a huge amount of opportunity in post trade. I think the next question is like okay where in that umbrella can we make progress? Where can blockchain differentiate? Um you know what's the you know I obviously come from the product side and so I'm thinking what's the minimum viable product here? where can we unlock the the most amount of upside or advantage uh with the smallest possible workflow or or change there. So really breaking it down from um from post trade to you know a specific uh type of transaction and and one area that we're really focused on within Ripple X and and Ripple X product is is collateral mobility and that aspect of it and so the ability to move collateral anywhere in the world near instantaneously. So 3 to 4 second settlement time soon to be atomically and we can talk more about about batch transactions is really really powerful.
I think you know a lot of these these markets are still operating sunrise to sunset uh and they're not even on weekends. And so when you couple that uh just business hour operations with the complexities of multiple different geographies that have to communicate with each other um and exchange collateral like the the system almost doesn't function. Uh it definitely doesn't doesn't scale. And so we're thinking a lot about >> the ability to move any asset near instantaneously anywhere in the world I think is is blockchain superpower in in my opinion. And that's just like uh perfect for for collateral mobility. And so even more specific to collateral mobility, like where do we start? You know, I always ask the question like how can we get more specific, more specific, more focused. Um and repo is is an area that that we're really focused. Um you know, repo is somewhat straightforward in terms of you have preset terms, you have a preset counterparty, and what we want to do is basically exchange two different assets, a collateral asset, a cash asset, and you can do that on the on the blockchain. And that's what batch transactions or atomic uh settlement will unlock. And we're really looking forward to to that feature being added to the XRP ledger in conjunction with you know the first version of privacy to help meet the needs of of financial you know institutions and protecting their their interests in that way. So you know we have some pilots in the works uh with um you know onchain repo transactions and I think that's just really step one right. I think from there we can keep building on top of that um and start to think more about the risk aspect. So collateral monitoring monitoring collateral liquidation and then also kind of the the systemwide scale. So multi-party netting is something uh you know that that's on our radar you know after these initial uh just transactions occur. So there's there's so much I'm just trying to find the smallest possible piece and then kind of expand from there. So yeah, I mean obviously this is going to be a very exciting time for XRP. Like everything I I I feel like a lot of what we have been waiting for or like what we want to see confirmed on the actual ledger. We're starting to get closer and closer to that point. And it does come back to a lot of like the acquisitions. Like I remember when Ripple was making these acquisitions, everyone was like, "Oh, that's it. Like they don't care about XRP. They just sold XRP uh to buy, you know, these companies." Like it's kind of ridiculous when you hear that because again it just comes back to the whole idea of like not understanding what's really going on here and not understanding like what's really happening. Um because again like majority of everything that Ripple has done in the past and the present and even you know in the future is going to have XRP at the top of mind. But I also come back to the whole idea of like the DTCC and yes there's no confirmed confirmation of XRP or the XRPL being tied to this. Um, Ripple Prime definitely is Ripple Prime is a part of the DTCC. I don't think that we get an announcement around Ripple until probably around October, which is when like the full, you know, platform goes live. Um, but we do know that, you know, if we look at the breakdown here and even from Mr. Man XRP, this is a message for all NC or all NCSS partner uh participants and continuous net settling CNS. NSC will conduct client testing for CNS input and output files and messages beginning July 13th, which it already did start. And if we think about this, yes, we come back to Ripple Prime because Ripple Prime is a part of the NSCC uh side of things. And if we're looking at this, we have probably nothing. Prime Ripple Prime holds direct partners or membership as an NSCC participant for post OTC trades and nettling reconciliation. The broker code 0443 under the NYSE directory enables post OTC trades with an official first uh trade date which began on March 9th of 2026. Essentially, Ripple's brokerage can act as both the executing and clearing broker for its over-the-counter trades here, meaning it can handle the trade processing and settlements on its own. Ripple Prime does not or does much more than uh just execute OTC trades too. uh through these memberships, it enters the centralized back-end clearing and settlement system used by uh traditional markets. Being a participation uh member in the tokenization service launch in October supports this. No. While being listed in the NYSE directory does not mean NYSE clears transactions via the XRP ledger today, it does establish the operational rail to potentially connect traditional trade volumes directly into the ledger over time. It's happening and Ripple is involved. And yeah, that's the thing like again like everyone expects everything to happen overnight or happen immediately out of the gate. Um it does mean that there could potentially be, you know, exposure at some point in time. It doesn't mean that there's an exact exposure until it's on the DTCC's website under networks. Um I wouldn't get too crazy about this, but we still know that Ripple Prime is tied back to the DTCC's NSEC participation group. Um, and even if we go over here, like you could see it under the DTCC's announcement back on May 4th, uh, which did cause a lot of speculation on like, oh, are we about to see XRP being plugged into the DTCC's $114 trillion trial? Like, I think in October we'll probably get a lot more insight on what's really happening here. But I do think that Ripple Prime being a part of this is definitely a good sign of um, you know, some exposure. But we have to wait and see. And even if Ripple and XRP are not a part of it, we still have a ton of great, you know, announcements happening around XRP. Um, and even a lot of connections back to like some core things like for example, Ripple Prime.
It's not the only piece of Ripple that's utilizing XRP. And of course, I think of the treasury management side because of the amount of banks and just the uh amount of money that's tied back to some of these, you know, platforms that Ripple does u, you know, own and pretty much have XRP a part of. So, with that being said, I hope you guys enjoyed this
