[00:00:00]Hi, I'm Bonnie Elliott Granger, and I'm a third year undergrad on the BA Education Society and Culture program.

[00:00:06]Like 2 years ago, at the end of my first year, I worked with Georgina and Sam on the UCL 200 research project. And I was specifically looking at London life in the '90s. So, I ended up writing a blog post about like Kiss FM, night clubbing, the kind of party extracurricular life of the '90s at UCL. It was really interesting research to do, unlike anything I'd done before in my degree.

[00:00:25]And it was at that time that they had the University of London student bar, and there was a lot of different like music acts that would play. And looking at old magazines where I got to see extracts of posters from club nights and other music acts, which I found really interesting as I love kind of pop culture and looking at it how it's changed over time alongside the kind of political state and how those two kind of merge together. Um and then listening to the interviews with the alumni was really interesting. Um and kind of their experiences of going out was very different depending on like their age and when in the '90s they had attended UCL. As it got kind of to the early 2000s, probably more similar to what student life is like now with kind of UCL club nights and other things. But earlier, it was a lot more other clubs in London, kind of part of a bigger London club scene, which I found interesting how that sort of changed as UCL became more of a close-knit institution.
