Successful MLB player prop betting requires analyzing multiple interconnected factors including weather conditions (temperature, wind speed), pitcher-hitter matchup history, player recent performance metrics (OPS, strikeout rates), and team offensive trends, as demonstrated through examples like Xavier Edwards' over 1.5 total bases against Bailey Ober in hitter-friendly weather, Brian Woo's over 6 strikeouts against a struggling Astros offense, and Freddie Freeman's over 1.5 total bases against Adrian Houser based on their favorable historical matchup.

MLB Player Props Best Bets & Predictions Today 5/12/26 | The Pop-Up PodAdded:
Yo, what's up with y'all boys and girls, man?
Hey.
It's Jay Briggs here with my guy, Ron Romanelli, and welcome to the new Prop Up Pod.
>> [laughter] >> On this show, man, uh me and Ron, we're just going to kind of talk some props, you know what I mean? We're going to put together a lineup from our sponsor, PrizePicks, and uh we're going to try to do this on the daily as we, you know, discuss baseball as uh the summer moves right along.
And you know, we'll see how we do as the summer rolls right along. Ron, how you feeling, man? How you doing today?
Good morning. Good morning. I'm doing good, you know, I tried to convince Jay to to call it the Prop Up Pod, with the player props, kind of, you know, but he said it sounded weird, so I guess uh Ron Romanelli's not the best with creative names, for, you know, Ron's Rundown took a lot out of me, and that was uh 6 years ago, so I guess uh no more names for me.
If y'all like the Prop Up Pod, let us know in the description.
Just adding an R.
>> [laughter] >> So, we'll see. We'll see. We'll see. Um but yeah, man, let's do it, man. Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it. I think it's going to be pretty fun to do over the summer.
Um you know, I haven't baseball props is something I'm kind of new to, but I feel like I've been finding a little success this season doing it, so um let's uh let's let's jump in, my man.
Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it.
Let's do it. Let's do it.
We head over to PrizePicks, man. You want to You want to bat lead off? You want to start first?
Sounds good to me. Let's go to Major League Baseball. Of course, you know me, I'm going to that Marlins-Twins matchup.
It's going to be 7:40 Eastern. Looks to be very hitter-friendly weather at Target Field today. We've got a little bit warmer temperatures than what we've used to seeing in this past month in Minnesota, and the wind looks like it's going to be maybe even over 20 miles per hour out to right center field. So, this is a situation I think the home run ball is in play for both teams. And especially I think for the Marlins up against the guy like Bailey Ober who's given up a good amount of home runs in his career. He's somebody that throws a lot of strikes and sometimes that means gives up too many hanging pitches over the plate. I look at a guy like Xavier Edwards, somebody that's not known for his power abilities really throughout his career. He's more of a contact hitter, but we've seen him have some more slug as of late. He had two home runs in that most recent National Series. So, you know, he's he's playing well. He's got that OPS at 886 now in the season. He's had success against Bailey Ober in the past and I think it's a good match up for him. So, I like his over one and a half total bases. I think it wouldn't be shocking to see, you know, a home run, but more and more than likely couple of singles, a double gets us over that total. So, give me the Xavier Edwards over one and a half total bases.
Ryan starting this off with a demon.
Okay. Okay. That's how we start the show. I like it. Bailey Ober Ober. You all know that's the name I gave him.
He likes to give it up in a hurry. So, he's always good to give up a home run.
Let's go Xavier Edwards.
See what See if you can come through for us today.
I'm going to go to a series between two of my rivals, man.
Two teams I hate, honestly, the Mariners and the Astros, but there's a pitcher I love on the mound today. Who?
Woo? Woo?
Woo.
>> [laughter] >> Ryan Woo.
Um Hey, I think he has a good day on the mound today. I'm going to take him over six Ks. Um six strikeouts for my guy Brian Woo today. When I look at it, the Astros have been a team that has really been struggling from the plate recently.
Um you know, you saw them yesterday only one run, the day before went scoreless, the day before one run. They did put up a 10 spot three games ago against Cincinnati on the road, but before that against the Dodgers they were struggling. This is just a a lineup that I think is in a slump right now. I don't really love their pitching staff and so for this team to be good this year, they're going to have to be a dominant offensive team and it's no surprise they're on this losing streak because their offense is struggling. We saw um George Kirby yesterday 7K's. Um I think Woo can come in here and have a solid outing as well, so I'm going to take Brian Woo up and over 6K's.
Um his last outing was his best outing of the season for Mr. Woo.
He uh Let me see. He pitched against the Braves, you know, one of the best offenses in baseball. In that outing he went six innings, one hit, nine K's.
Really uh you know, really encouraging today now going up against a lineup that's struggling in the Astros. I like Brian Woo over six and a half over 6K's today.
So, let's see what happens. That's what I like.
Another thing to mention with the Astros, kind of crazy last three weeks, you look at their offense against righties on the road, they have the third lowest strikeout rate against righties in the last three weeks. At home it's the highest in Major League Baseball above 30%. It's crazy. I mentioned on the runs on the rundown this morning, maybe they got rid of those trash cans because that offense has been above league average on the road and it's been miserable at Daikin Park. So, I I like that prop. I think Brian Woo has a big day.
Yeah, let's do it. Mr. Woo.
Let's dominate the Astros today. All right?
I think you said you had another one.
We're going three man today. What are you taking? Let's get to Yeah, we're going to Dodger Stadium.
Yeah, the Dodgers were uh a big letdown for a lot of people yesterday. We had the Giants on the rundown, so we're happy about that one, but I'm looking at another player prop with the Dodgers this time, Freddie Freeman. You know, Freeman is obviously the Giants going with Adrian Houser as their starter.
Freeman's seen him very well. You know, they've had 15 plate appearances, a few walks, no strikeouts. So, Freeman's yet to strike out against Houser. He's four for 12 with a couple of doubles and a home run. And he's got a 914 expected slugging percentage. So, he's hit him really hard. He's in great form in the month of May. He's got an 866 OPS in May. Coming off a nice day yesterday.
He's one of one of the only Dodgers hitters that had a big day on Monday going two for four with a double, scored a run as well. I I think Freeman gets gets to Houser again. Somebody I could look at for a potential home run prop, but I'm just going to go over his one and a half total bases. I think Freeman uh is going to have a big day on on Tuesday night.
All righty, y'all.
Here we go.
We got a little three-man lineup for y'all today. We got Xavier Edwards over one and a half total bases.
He's been seeing it well going up against Bailey Ober Ober in hitter-friendly weather.
We got Bryan Woo looking to stack back-to-back solid starts going up against a Houston Astros offense who's really struggling right now, especially at home.
And we got Freddie Freeman looking to keep it rolling. Dodgers off of three straight losses. Hey.
He need to wake up out of it, you know.
Freddie's a big part of that, so off a good day yesterday, we'll see if he can keep it rolling today. I like it, Ron. I do.
And 20 bucks pays out 125.
Uh let's see. A hundred bucks pays out 625.

Any uh anything else, man? I like I I I like this lineup. I'm playing it. We'll see what happens.
Yeah, looks like a strong one. I'm I've been getting more into player props myself this year. I've noticed in Major League Baseball the lines you know, money lines have been a little bit tighter. So, I think player prop value is certainly there this season and something I've been dabbling more and more on the rundown even my premium selections. I got one at Pick Dogs Premium today in fact. So, yeah, I'm I'm liking these plays and I think this is a strong lineup. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Speaking of Pick Dogs Premium, what you got going on over at the website today?
Yeah, I got I got a big day today. Got six plays total on Tuesday. We've got three in Major League Baseball including my rundown best bet.
We've got uh one in the NBA, one in the WNBA, one in the NHL playoffs which I'm very selective in in hockey but I love this play in hockey. So, check it out. I got all those plays individual. It's a long-term play and always going to be your best bet. But looking for a big Tuesday night.
Hop on with Ron Romanelli over at Pick Dogs Premium. For me today, I got a smaller card. Um I got a play in the WNBA. I got a play in the NBA and I got one play for Major League Baseball. So, three plays for me today. I'm probably going to start adding props into my um premium side as I dive deeper and deeper. But you know, just play from each sport for me today. Money making Tuesday. Scoop it up. Pick Dogs Premium.
Pair me and my guy Ron Romanelli up over at Pick Dogs Premium. Um let's make it a winning day, week, month, year, however you want to do it. You can do it over at the website, man. Ron, any final words for you before we get out of here for the day?
Let's do it. This day one of the Prop-Up Pod. Let's cash.
Day one is in the books. Episode one, man.
Let's start it off with a bang. Let's cash. Start it off, man. We'll see y'all tomorrow. Appreciate y'all more than y'all know.
Make it a winning day. We out of here.
Peace.
