When people say 'OCD will always be there,' they mean that intrusive thoughts and feelings may persist, but recovery is still possible through consistent Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, which teaches the brain that compulsions are unnecessary for feeling safe, ultimately changing how one feels about these thoughts rather than eliminating them entirely.

What People Really Mean When They Say "OCD Will Always Be There"Añadido:
There's something about OCD recovery that you need to hear as when people say OCD will always be there. Now, what I will say is yes, thoughts and feelings may always be there. And when they say this, you might think to yourself that you're stuck. Well, let me tell you guys, I know I'm not supposed to reassure you, but you're not. And they don't intend it that way, but that's just the way you guys might your brain might be taking it. All right? But what I will say is when you constant, not constantly, when you consistently practice ERP, right, you consistently do it and how you carry yourself day in and day out is really important with your exposures. The more you practice it, the intensity over time decreases because every time you're able to do those exposures, avoid the compulsions, you're teaching your brain that I don't need this compulsion to technically feel safe, right? And that's really the goal, right? The goal isn't to get rid of thoughts and feelings. The goal is to change the way you feel about it through ERP.
