Market rallies driven by derivative positions rather than actual spot holdings are inherently unstable and unsustainable, as they lack genuine market participation and can collapse when underlying support is removed, making them risky for traders who may overestimate their sustainability.

The Rally Isn’t Real—It’s Derivative BasedAdded:
You can absolutely make a lot of money on leveraged trades on these days where you've got trillion-dollar companies gapping up 10% but it's not a sustainable rally because it's not being driven by actual spot positions. It's all derivative based. It always feels like this until it breaks. And and then you're like, "Oh, I don't Like this happens every time. Like why was I overthinking it?"
And I really do believe that that's where we're at. Or if it's, you know, now we've gone so high so fast and with so few participants as far as the underlying securities that if one of those legs is kicked out from under the table I think it's going to be more and more difficult for the rest of the index to absorb it.
