[00:00:00]Do you think people who are racist are bad people? That belief actually might not be that helpful and maybe not for the reasons why you think. Um, when I put people in this sort of topdown assessment, uh, top down sort of label, it causes blind spots. And one of the ways that shows up even in that particular belief is if I believe people who are racist are bad people. Well, I don't see myself as a bad person. Ergo, I can't be racist. And so it actually causes blind spots in our ability to actually examine our own racism. The truth is all of us have been bathed in the waters of white superiority, mau superiority, class superiority. And this is work we all have to deconstruct. Um and to sort of see ourselves as uh good people um and that people who are racist are bad does not promote that exploration. But this is work we all have to do.
