The $40 Taste of Home: Diaspora Demand Drives Indian Mango SurgeAdded:
Would you pay $40 for a box of mangoes?
For many in the Indian diaspora living in the US, that price tag is about more than just fruit. He explains that while the media has reported prices as high as $60 per box, the reality is closer to 40. a price point affluent consumers are more than happy to pay for a taste of their homeland.
Looking ahead, the CEO says the future for Indian mangoes in the US is bright with imports expected to jump from 4,000 to 10,000 tons over the next few years.
