Is Zcash the next big breakthrough in digital cash?

[00:00:04]Right now, my first early bet is on Zcash.

[00:00:08]Why? Because it has all the qualities we have for a digital cash network.

[00:00:13]It's fast, it's cheap, it's built using Bitcoin technology, and most importantly, it's compliantly private.

[00:00:19]And that means that for one, we won't show our transaction balances every time we make a transaction, and for two, the regulators won't shut it down.

[00:00:29]But Zcash isn't a network yet.

[00:00:31]It doesn't have enough users using it, and therefore it doesn't have enough merchants accepting it. And so it hasn't got network effects.

[00:00:38]In fact, it's pretty similar to Bitcoin in the early days.

[00:00:41]Before Bitcoin became a network.

[00:00:44]And so that's why in this case, you got to place a small bet.
