India's renewable boom has one missing piece. Not solar panels, not wind turbines, but giant batteries that store power for the grid. And one company just got 1,128 crore order for exactly that.
The project is a 1 gigawatt battery energy storage system at NTPC's thermal power station in Bihar. So, why is this important? India is targeting 500 gigawatt non-fossil fuel energy by 2030.
So, BESS becomes the power bank of the grid. This company already has four decades of infrastructure experience and has completed 700 plus turnkey projects.
Now, it is moving into grid-scale battery storage [music] with a 10-year exclusive collaboration with Energy Vault. Its BESS facility at Maharashtra targets 2.5 gigawatt by Q1 FY27, scaling to 5 gigawatt by FY28. At full capacity, management expects 4,000 to 5,000 crore annual revenue potential.
