[00:00:00]I don't know if our mothers are the last generation of innocent mothers, but I know they are a generation of sad mothers because they were literate. They received some form of education till 8th, 10th, 12th, graduation, even post-graduation. And education did what it always does. It ignited dreams, dreams they couldn't act upon. They had potential they couldn't monetize due to pregnancy, unpaid labor, lack of opportunities, or migration, or because just life keeps on demanding sacrifices from them. That's why you would often hear mothers saying, "Puri zindagi chali gayi aur khud ke liye kuch nahi kiya."

[00:00:35]And I believe it leaves a deep impact on a person's psyche because they have lived their whole life in the nostalgia of their lost potential. And whenever I think about it, it reminds me of this line by Avtar Singh Sandhu, "Sabse khatarnak hota hai murda shanti se bhar jaana. Sabse khatarnak hota hai hamare sapno ka mar jaana." Now, some of you might say that careers aren't limited by age, but capitalism rarely agrees. In an economy where unemployment is so high, and employers want young adults to work twice hard at the pay of one, it hardly welcomes older women with health issues and career gaps into the workforce. Of course, there are alternatives like starting a business, monetizing a skill, becoming part of orange economy, but even those require capital, digital literacy, emotional support, and continuous assistance, things many women never had the chance to explore. So, while we being a 20s believe we can flip this script, build a better future, change the [music] tale of our lost potential, our mothers are stuck in a constant loop of regret, self-loath, grudges, and shame. And I don't want this to continue in future generations.
