Banana Ball has arrived in East Tennessee. More specifically, the Savannah Bananas taking over Covenant Health Park and Neyland Stadium this week.
>> They bring so much energy to baseball and I love what they do on social media.
So, I'm excited to see all the clips that come out of it.
>> But who are the Savannah Bananas? I asked one fan to explain her obsession.
Oh my gosh.
Um, so they're uh they're a baseball team. Oh. Yeah, who really they just love having fun on the field. Ooh. They love it. Like they uh they dance and they sing and they're they're goofy and they're Oh, they have some of the best personalities. They're great.
>> Ticket sales match the hype.
>> We have over 7,500 people for the Thursday game at Covenant Health Park, which will be the largest attendance at that venue since it opened. And then we've sold over 110,000 tickets at Neyland on Saturday.
>> Visit Knoxville says the Savannah Bananas bring in added tourism dollars as fans book hotel rooms and spend money at local businesses. It's almost like the balls have an extra home football game in the month of May. It 100% is. I mean, and we're also coming off Luke Combs. So, really it's a huge impact for May to have Luke Combs to the Savannah Bananas.
