Living in PEI

[00:00:00]When I tell people I live in P.E.I., they're like, "P.E.I.? P.E.I.? Where is that?" So, this is me addressing it.

[00:00:05]P.E.I. is the smallest province in Canada. A lot of people don't like to migrate here. Most people would usually live in like Toronto, Vancouver, B.C., Manitoba, and things like that. So, when I tell people I live in P.E.I., they're like, "P- P- P- what? Where is that?"

[00:00:19]So, P.E.I. is the smallest province here in Canada. It's an amazing province.

[00:00:24]People would just say it's a village and they don't think Nigerians live here.

[00:00:28]But, one thing I really know about P.E.I. is that there's a lot of business support. I thought I was going to be in P.E.I. for just 4 to 6 months. When I first landed, I was like, "I'm leaving this place." Imagine moving from Europe and I'm living in P.E.I., you know? But, when I came here, I found out that there's a lot of business support to immigrants, to everybody. And Islanders are very welcoming.

[00:00:47]My neighbors, I know my neighbors, my neighbors know me, and they're really amazing people. They're people that I can rely on. I can call if I need every- if I need any help, I can call my neighbors and say, "I need help with this." Islanders are really amazing people. Even in the stores, people are usually very friendly. It's me, my kids, and everything. When I worked in the bank, everybody knew everybody. So, it's just a very beautiful community to be in and experience. Ah, so I'm an Islander.
