It's such that everything in the universe must have a cause and if there's this infinite regress of causes [music] there must have been something that caused the first cause. St. Thomas Aquinas famously [music] said that this infinite regress is in fact impossible because the first cause or the original cause [music] is God. I'm kind of curious and speaking from ignorance I don't understand why it's impossible to just have infinite regress. [music] Why?
Short and how did it all start? Even if there is a first cause [music] then how did we jump from that to immediately God?
It [music] feels to me like we're skipping some steps. So I'm genuinely asking why is the first cause [music] even God? Please those in the comment section or anyhow please answer those more enlightened than I am and I'm speaking from ignorance.
