Burkina Faso's Operation Food Sovereignty initiative demonstrates how strategic government investment in agro-industrial processing facilities—such as the inauguration of two factories in Dugu processing maize and sesame into flour, semolina, and biscuits—can transform local agriculture by adding value to raw materials, creating employment opportunities, and reducing dependence on raw material exports to achieve national food sovereignty.

>> Greetings, families. Welcome back once again. I hope you are well. I hope your day is good. Thank you so much for clicking on this video. This news is coming from Binafa. So it's actually breaking news. The prime minister of Bokina so Mr. Emmanuel has inaugurated two factories. Two factories that will be processing agriculture product into biscuit. Any finishing product agriculture finishing product these two factories will be producing families. So we will not waste the farming product.
These factories are very important. As always, listen and watch. I'll be back.
I must admit I haven't seen the factory yet, but I will look for the video of the factory and add it to this one. This is what they have shared on TV news.
I'll be back.
>> Let's begin with this tour by the prime minister. The prime minister paid a courtesy visit to the chief of the Dugu Canton this morning. This gesture of civility marks the start of his working day in the city of Bancoui where he has inaugurated or will inaugurate two agro food processing units. With the chief of Canton and his dignitaries, the prime minister conveyed the respect of the country's highest authorities to the guardians of tradition. He praised their contribution to social cohesion and harmony within the communities. Speaking about the reasons for his visit, the head of government pointed out that the inauguration of the agro food processing units in Dugu is part of the ongoing effort to enhance local production, promote national entrepreneurship and strengthen food sovereignty. A movement driven by the leadership of the president of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Trare.
The prime minister during his stay in the city of Bangui as I mentioned earlier presided over the inauguration of two industrial units specializing in the processing of local products such as maize and sesame. These are Sodaf BM agro industry which focuses on the development of family farming in the Blehon region and processes maize into flour, semolina and animal feed. The second unit, Kabarasal, processes maize and sesame into flour and biscuits. With a cost of 1 bill600 million for Sodaf BM and 1 bill300 million for Kabar Sarell, these strategic investments add value to our raw materials and demonstrate the resilience of the people, producers and agro businessmen of the Banku and Suru regions. Let's listen to the prime minister on this topic.
On behalf of the comrade president of Faso, we proceeded this morning right here in Dugu with the official inauguration of two industrial units.
The first unit sodaf is the realization of a bold vision.
The producers who by the hundreds if not thousands understood very early on that they needed to come together to be stronger.
Uh so from production to marketing.
Today they have moved on to another major stage which is processing with the inauguration of this maze processing unit.
Uh this is perfectly in line with the current momentum because processing is the key link for creating added value.
And so our presence here is to encourage these producers who have come together and who today see their vision becoming a reality with the support of the state because they have received support not only from the Burkinabi fund for economic and social development but also from the BCB as you know which is a publicly owned bank. So this is to show just how fully committed the state is to supporting them in making this strategic initiative a success. And here we have also just officially inaugurated the KBR company's unit. And there as well uh we have just finished the guided tour. Uh these are significant processing capacities that have just been established particularly for uh maze for sesame uh for the production not only of uh semolina couscous grits but in addition uh here we saw that the promoter has also added a small section for production a biscuit factory and all of this is in line with what we want to achieve for bkinaaso today within the dynamic of the progressive popular revolution namely to produce in large quantity entities because we know that we have a hardworking people capable of producing enough to feed Burkina Faso and even to feed beyond Burkina Faso.
Heading to the city of Dugu in Banki where the prime minister made a working visit. Among the activities was the inauguration of two industrial units as part of efforts to promote local production. The first the agroindustrial company for the development of family agriculture specializes in corn processing. It required investments of more than 1.6 billion with an annual processing capacity of 12,000 to 15,000 tons. As for the factory contingent agri business connovation sorl, it focuses on sesame and cereals with an investment of 1.23 billion. Its annual capacity is estimated at 35,000 tons of cereals and 10,000 tons of sesame. We take a closer look at all this with Arl Mariel Sado and Pauline Bukaba.
These ribbon cutting ceremonies by the prime minister mark the official opening of these industrial facilities. Sodaf, BNSA, and Carla SRL. All units for processing maize into flour, semolina, or even animal feed as well as sesame into biscuits.
With these units, more than 200 permanent jobs and 2,000 seasonal positions are expected for us. The challenge that remains to be met, it is to make these units operational, to work so that the jobs first and foremost to ensure that young people in the region have employment and also to work so that the products are available in both quantity and quality. We hope to finally begin a new much more significant phase which is already to respond to the call of our authorities by processing ourselves what we produce. uh wishes to be able to satisfy all social groups with quality products.
>> The realization of these jewels has been made possible thanks to the actions of the state which decided to reduce customs and tax duties in accordance with the investment code.
>> In carrying out these projects, the state has played a decisive role by granting additional customs and tax benefits, notably in accordance with the investment code estimated at more than 1.3 billion CFA franks.
This means that the government will continue to support these types of projects through incentive measures, a favorable regulatory framework, and strong strategic support.
>> A guided tour of the industrial units allowed the prime minister to observe the transformation process from raw material to finished product. All of this is in line with what we want to achieve for Burkina Fazo today in the spirit of the progressive popular revolution namely to produce in large quantities because we know that we have a limited number of workers capable of producing enough to feed Bkina Faso and even to feed beyond Bkina Faso.
Processing Bkina Faso because we no longer want to export raw products.
We need to process them to create added value.
And finally we must consume in Bkina Faso because that is how we will align with the vision of sovereignty.
>> Thank you so much families for listening. So yes we have got another two factories in addition to what we already have. Wow. Congratulations to the government. Keep pushing. Keep pushing. I finish a video this morning about the engineers that will be working on the factories. um the students that they are training that they will be working on these factories because in the near future we don't want anyone to come from somewhere to come and be repairing our machines anymore. So yes, everything is working according to plan.
